00:00Looking forward to watching you again.
00:01How are you, buddy?
00:03Very good.
00:04Thank you for calling me.
00:06It's very good.
00:07The preparation is going good.
00:09I can't believe it, man.
00:11It was really cool to see your opening performance.
00:13But, man, your people love you over there.
00:16I'm watching these YouTube comments,
00:17and I feel like nobody is getting more love than Milos Janicic
00:21with his performance.
00:22Were you blown away?
00:24Did you notice a little extra juice for how people were fired up
00:28for that last performance?
00:30Yes, of course.
00:33Because right before the dirty boxing,
00:36we had a big MMA fight in our country, you know, in Serbia.
00:39And, like, it's like a very big organization.
00:42It's very popular.
00:43And this guy that I thought is a big star,
00:45but he's very much hated, you know?
00:46So it was like a big fight.
00:49It was more than just an MMA.
00:50So it made me, like, famous now, you know?
00:54Yeah, you were talking about that.
00:56I remember you talking about that in the fighter meetings.
00:59Like, he upset people.
01:00And so, like, what led to you getting this hero's welcome?
01:04What did he say that everybody was so disgusted by?
01:06Ah, it's something that goes long, you know?
01:11This guy is on the scene, like, for five years.
01:14So, like, he's been very cocky.
01:16He's been knocking out opponents.
01:18Also, YouTubers and TikTokers.
01:21Big thing in Serbia, you know, and on Balkans.
01:23And this guy was beating up YouTubers and TikTokers, you know?
01:25So, very bad public image.
01:29And he's building that, you know, for years, making different clips,
01:32but also winning every fight.
01:34So now this fight between me and him had a beef that's, like,
01:36more than two years long, you know?
01:38And he called me out after surgery.
01:40So, like, this was the fight that everybody was watching, you know?
01:44Everybody on Balkans.
01:45And everybody wanted him to lose.
01:47So, yeah, I'm the hero now, you know?
01:51And you fought him, weren't you, like, eight months off of ACL after that?
01:54Like, you were pretty fresh off a knee surgery when you took that fight.
02:00Yes, it was, like, for me, it was all or nothing.
02:03Because, like, I must tell you, after the surgery, it was a big surgery,
02:07especially at this age, 27.
02:09I was broke after the surgery.
02:10And I got a really good offer for this fight.
02:12So, like, it was good money.
02:14I was broke.
02:16I was off the surgery.
02:17So, I took it, like, this was a big chance for me to get to the big level,
02:21you know, to get big sponsorship and stuff.
02:23And I said I had to take it.
02:24So, I made a risk.
02:25I made a good recovery.
02:27And thank God, everything went perfectly, you know?
02:29But it was 50-50, you know?
02:31Because it was a quick comeback.
02:33This is so cool, Leroy.
02:34Like, I can't imagine having the pride of a country behind you like that.
02:38That's crazy.
02:39So, you're good now, though, right?
02:41Your knee and everything is great now.
02:44So, man, that's putting it on the line.
02:47Yeah, it's perfect.
02:50I took it, like, two fights at eight months, you know?
02:53So, but I look for some big guys like Zlatan Ibrahimović, Mirko Krokap.
02:57They all came back, like, after six, seven months.
03:00So, I said, like, I can do this, you know?
03:02I have to do it.
03:02Like, I can, and that's it.
03:04You talk about, like, that Balkan culture over there?
03:08Because we got a guy down here, Nikola Jovic.
03:10He plays, he's from Serbia.
03:12He plays for the Miami Heat.
03:15Yeah, Jovic is the joker.
03:16I mean, he's the top of the notch.
03:18We got a young guy, Jovic.
03:19They're all on the same national team.
03:21But, like, you guys, like, can you talk about, like,
03:23what is, like, the culture over there?
03:25Like, you guys all support each other from that area for the most part,
03:28the Slovenia, or is it more rivalry?
03:30Like, how does that go when it comes to sports culture over there?
03:33You know, like, there is a lot of rivalries.
03:42We don't like each other, you know?
03:44They like to make rivalries.
03:45But when we go into, like, different countries, like, in America,
03:49American leagues, either it's soccer, basketball, MMA, anything,
03:53like, people love for our people to dominate over there.
03:56But when it's back home, it's a big rivalry.
04:00So, that's how it goes.
04:02So, you're together when you're here,
04:03but when you're over there, no together.
04:06We are the worst.
04:07Yeah, no together.
04:08We are the worst when it's back home, you know?
04:10It's really bad blood.
04:13So, Milos is going to be fighting August 29th, Dirty Boxing 3.
04:16You're taking on Lamar Brown.
04:18How did you like the experience of Dirty Boxing,
04:20doing something like that?
04:21Oh, it was good, but also, like, it was not pleasant because I took it too lightly, you know?
04:29Right after this fight with Marco, like, I was in perfect shape, in the best shape of my life.
04:34And, like, after this fight, I had too many, like, the mayor of my town called me, you know?
04:40Also, after the mayor, I got so many, like, lunches, dinners with some either politicians or some big guys,
04:47some big sponsorship, like, every day I was busy.
04:50So many people wanted to take a picture with me.
04:52It was, like, really disturbing, you know, like, I could not sleep for days.
04:56And I was not even training after the fight.
04:58And even I got called from Ilya Topuria.
05:01So, I went there, like, three days to make sparrings with him.
05:04And believe it or not, those three days in Spain with Ilya, it took me rest my head, you know,
05:08from all this mess that's happening here, you know?
05:11So, then I came back.
05:12And, again, we continue more sponsorship, more lunches, more dinners, you know?
05:18Like, I was not even training at all.
05:20And then I came back to Miami to have a fight.
05:22And I was completely not ready.
05:24And I took the guy too lightly.
05:26I was thinking it's going to be an easy job.
05:28But he was much, much better, you know, than I expected.
05:31And it was a hard fight.
05:33So, but this time I come, like, fully prepared.
05:35So, have you, like, zoned, like, have you been training in South Florida?
05:39Have you been home training?
05:40Like, what have you done for this one differently?
05:43So, first of all, I took this seriously.
05:45Like, I train every day, one or two times a day.
05:48Like, I do only boxing now.
05:49And I train, like, I'm in condition.
05:51I spar a lot.
05:53And I've been, like, four weeks in Miami, you know?
05:55So, I adjust myself to the heat, to the weather, to everything, to humidity, to everything.
06:00Now I came back here for three weeks.
06:02And then I come back again to Miami now before a fight.
06:06So, this time I come, like, in good shape.
06:08And I already have the experience at the small ring boxing with elbows.
06:12I know the rules set now, the distance, everything.
06:16Milos, how crazy is that, though?
06:17Because that has to blow your mind.
06:18Like, you're sitting here, you're telling us you're broke after a fight.
06:21And then, like, it's almost like your life changes in your country overnight.
06:25Like, how hard was that to deal with?
06:27Was it awesome to deal with?
06:28Because you have all these people hobnobbing with you?
06:29Like, what is that transition like?
06:33It was very hard.
06:35Because, like, before this, I had 20 pro fights, you know?
06:39And actually, nobody, I mean, they knew about me, but only the real ones that follow, actually, MMA.
06:45But the other spectrum, the other people that don't follow too much MMA, nobody know about me.
06:50And I had 20 fights.
06:51And this guy just had a couple of fights and was a big star.
06:54So, like, it was kind of downgrading.
06:57Also, I'm, like, 10 years fighting professionally, and I was not getting big chances.
07:01And then this surgery comes out, and I say to myself, like, what am I doing with my life?
07:05You know, you are broke.
07:06You had surgery.
07:08Nobody calls you.
07:09Nobody texts.
07:10He comes to visit you.
07:11You are alone at home.
07:12And then this opportunity comes because he wanted to use a chance to kick me up, you know?
07:16Because we had a beef.
07:18And the beef went viral in our country, you know?
07:20So, now he wanted to use this opportunity because before he didn't want to fight me.
07:24So, I was thinking, like, this is all or nothing.
07:27Because my career is 10 years, and I made nothing.
07:29So, now we have to take this and try everything, you know?
07:32And at the end, it went very good.
07:34So, now, yeah, I got everything now.
07:36I know we talked about in the fighter meetings.
07:37You said you're hoping that, like, the exposure from Dirty Boxing maybe gets a little launch to the UFC
07:42because you're still very young.
07:45You're just entering the prime of your career.
07:47Or have you felt, like, the exposure from Dirty Boxing has helped with that?
07:51Like, getting your name out there even more?
07:54Yeah, it's very nice when you see the guys, like, there was, like, first of all,
07:58John Jones, Mike Perry, Caio Boraglio, Amanda Nunez, Tito Ortiz.
08:03I looked many big, famous guys and faces, you know, from the MMA.
08:07So, it's good to be there.
08:09And, like, we'll see event by the event.
08:11I hope I get on the radar of UFC.
08:15How did it, like, go in a championship?
08:17But, anyway, like, I just enjoy to fight, you know?
08:19No, no, go ahead.
08:20Go ahead.
08:20You can finish there.
08:21It was, yeah.
08:23No, it was just, I wanted to say, like, I like competing.
08:26I like fighting, especially, like, when I can do stand-up fighting.
08:30So, I enjoy just competing, you know?
08:32Well, I was just curious because you, you know, you spent a camp with Teporia.
08:35You just watched him after he trained with you go and get his second belt.
08:38When you train with a guy who, right now, is looked upon as the top of the top,
08:42how did you feel, like, does it feel like, hey, I can go with the best of the best?
08:46Like, what is that?
08:47When, even if you're not in the UFC, you're training with the best of the best.
08:51Literally, maybe the number one pound-for-pound guy on the planet.
08:53What did that do for your confidence and your skills as far as, like,
08:56knowing you're UFC ready?
08:57Well, I fought before.
09:00I mean, I trained with many UFC guys in Phuket, Thailand, you know?
09:03I also trained a lot with Rafael Fiziev and some other guys.
09:07But Teporia is, like, the best of the best.
09:08And I'm definitely sure, like, I'm not anywhere close to Ilya's level.
09:12But, like, I felt I can do.
09:14Like, I'm good, you know?
09:15I think he was surprised, too, that my striking is actually good, you know?
09:19And I know I can easily fight in UFC.
09:22Like, I know this very easily.
09:23So, it means a lot for me, you know?
09:24And I cannot wait to come over there one day.
09:28Well, we can't wait to watch him, man.
09:30Dirty Boxing 3 going down at the Hangar, August 29th.
09:33Get your tickets now.
09:34This guy, he is worth the price of admission.
09:36This guy put on a hell of a show.
09:38Him and Guillermo Bastos last time.
09:40Lamar Brown, that's who he's going to be fighting this time.
09:42Also had a really competitive fight.
09:43I can't wait to see an action fully healthy, man.
09:45It's going to be a real thrill.
09:48Thank you very much.
09:50There you go.
09:50It's going to be good stuff.
09:52Yeah, Milos Janicic, the Cobra, joining us there.
09:55And you guys can catch him at the Hangar.
09:57Get your tickets now.
09:58Dirty Boxing 3.
09:59I like that guy.
10:00Like, you know what?
10:02I like hearing stories about it's one thing to get an opportunity.
10:08Yep.
10:09It's another thing to put your tail on the line knowing you broke and you just had surgery.
10:14That's crazy.
10:14That's real life stuff right there.
10:24Okay.
