00:00This is a story about Timmy the Turtle and his friend, Ricky Rabbit.
00:04Timmy the Turtle was very slow.
00:07Really, really slow.
00:09His friends always said,
00:11Timmy, you're the slowest turtle ever.
00:14But Timmy didn't mind.
00:15He took his time to enjoy life.
00:18One day, the forest animals were having a picnic.
00:20Let's have a race, said Ricky Rabbit.
00:23Let's see who's the fastest.
00:25Ricky Rabbit was known for his super speedy hops.
00:27I bet I can hop to the big oak tree before any of you even move an inch, he said, and wiggled his whiskers.
00:34Bella Bluebird was sitting on a low-hanging branch.
00:37That sounds like fun, she said.
00:39I bet I can fly to the top of that tree before any of you get there.
00:43She spread her wings.
00:45Sally Squirrel was busy burying an acorch, but she quickly dug it up.
00:49Let's make it to the talking rock before the sun goes down, she said.
00:52That should be plenty of time for a little race.
00:55The animals all agreed, and Timmy the turtle wanted to join in, too.
01:00You, a race?
01:01Ricky Rabbit couldn't stop laughing.
01:03Ha, you can start while we're eating lunch.
01:06I may be slow, said Timmy, but I never give up.
01:09Ricky Rabbit just shook his head and said,
01:11Suit yourself.
01:12And with that, the race began.
01:15Ricky Rabbit zoomed off like a rocket.
01:18Bella Bluebird flew high,
01:20so she could see everything from above.
01:23Sally Squirrel darted through the trees.
01:27And Timmy the turtle, well, he just started walking.
01:32Slow and steady.
01:35Ricky Rabbit was so far ahead of everyone else,
01:38he could already see the finish line.
01:40I won, he shouted, and slowed down to a walk.
01:44I can't wait to tell everyone I won the race,
01:47he said with a big smile.
01:48But then he stopped.
01:50Wait a second, he said.
01:52What's that smell?
01:54Mmm, carrot cake, he said.
01:57And before he knew it,
01:58he had stopped to eat the whole thing.
02:02Meanwhile, Bella Bluebird was having some problems of her own.
02:06She had flown too close to a big spider web,
02:09and now she was stuck.
02:12Help, I'm stuck, she called.
02:15Don't worry, Bella, said a kind spider.
02:18I'll help you out.
02:19And with that, the spider gently pulled apart the web,
02:24and Bella Bluebird was free.
02:27Thanks, she said.
02:28Now I better get going.
02:30And she flew to the finish line,
02:32just as Sally Squirrel was crossing it.
02:35Sally had stopped to juggle some acorns.
02:38But she accidentally dropped one,
02:40and it landed on her head.
02:43Owie, she said,
02:44and slowly made her way to the finish line.
02:48And what about Timmy?
02:49He had been walking the whole time,
02:52slow and steady,
02:53and he wasn't giving up.
02:55Finally, he made it to the finish line.
02:58All the animals cheered.
03:00Wow, Timmy, you did it, they shouted.
03:03Timmy smiled and said,
03:05Slow and steady wins the race.
03:08Just then, a skateboard zoomed past him.
03:12It was Ricky Rabbit.
03:13I knew I would win, he said,
03:16and winked at Timmy.
03:17How did you get here so fast?
03:19asked Timmy.
03:21I brought these wheels, said Ricky Rabbit,
03:23so next time the race will be even faster.
03:27Oh, I don't know.
03:29Said Timmy.
03:30I think I'd rather walk.
03:32And with that,
03:34the friends started their long walk back home.
03:37They talked about all the things they had seen
03:40on their way to the finish line.
03:42And they all agreed it had been a fun day.
03:44And they all agreed.
03:45And they all agreed to the finish line.
03:46And they all agreed to the finish line.
