00:00So GCSE results day-to-day, very exciting for lots of young people, a real stepping stone to what comes next.
00:06But we are really conscious that there are still far too many young people that are left without their maths or English GCSE
00:13and don't feel like they have the opportunities to go on to that they should have.
00:18So we're focused as a government on really turning back the tide for these young people from the very earliest stage,
00:24getting the best start in life, having really quality early years education, having access to preschool meals,
00:31having access to breakfast clubs, having good teachers in schools and making sure that they are attending school.
00:37And in the meantime as well, we're working really closely with schools to drive up improvement, attendance and outcomes for young people.
