00:00Why the split? For months, the Medical Staff Council has been having meetings with our managers, with the managers from Voga Voga, discussing the issues about the wards and staffing and theatres and all these issues.
00:16We want progress. We want to bring that new hospital up to its real potential. Voga is intent upon keeping us subdued.
00:28Now the problem is, all of a sudden, we have no plan for orthopedics or ENT or any of these things. That was their answer. Now all of a sudden they're saying, we need to pull back the public orthopedics from St. Vincent's into Griffith Base.
00:44We need to pull back the public ophthalmology from St. Vincent's into Griffith Base. So we ask them, where do we accommodate these people?
00:52Falling and breaking bones is an everyday affair. It is not a super specialty thing like open heart surgery or neurosurgery or brain surgery. It's everyday stuff that happens to people.
01:04ENT is everyday stuff that happens to people. Sore throats, tonsillitis, all sorts of sinusitis and things like that. They're not highly specialized departments.
01:13They're just regular, everyday departments. And the fact that you don't have these departments based here in Griffith seven days a week, it's a shame.
01:22They say your health is your wealth, but too often we don't realize the truth until our loved ones face a health emergency.
01:29In those moments, all you want is the reassurance that your local hospital has the staff resources and facilities to save lives.
01:36Over the last 25 years since moving away from a locally run, successful and self-sustaining hospital board, our community has been placed under the control of a centralized health district.
01:51The result has been a slow, deliberate erosion of services. Piece by piece, departments have been dismantled until suddenly you wake up and realize there is almost nothing left.
02:01By then it's too late.
02:08We need to do this. We need to get this split. We need, because if we do not, it does not board well for Griffith.
02:18If we do not win this, guess what happens next? Medical services in Griffith will go down the tubes.
02:24Because from thence on, nothing we ask for will they ever have to do or satisfy our needs.
02:31They can just thumb their noses at us and walk away because, hey, you wanted a split, you didn't get it, now you know what you can do.
02:39So, if you want to add research on your
02:54Watch me. It's not justФ' for you to double up trade, on any threshold you have to drop off, nothing but small things pay for those of you to solve this system.
