00:00I am also not just as a ministry of power, I am a forest minister, not as a deputy chief forest, apart from that, I am a conservation at heart.
00:15I really, sometimes the kind of damage that happens to Mother Earth, I really feel like doing my big contribution, somehow the nature and God bless me to solve Mother Nature by being in politics and also especially being a ministry of forest and environment.
00:35I really, really take it as a great blessing to solve Mother Earth and especially the kind of initiatives we have taken, I would like to share with you.
00:47Before that I would like to say the hope to the distinguished delegates from the government of India and state governments and state officers and experts and present days of coastal campaigns, ladies and gentlemen.
00:58It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to Honkipadish for this national workshop on MISTI.
01:05My role is the duty for shoreline habitats and tangible incomes.
01:10I sincerely thank the governments of India for choosing your own state to host this important national event.
01:18At the outset I would like to acknowledge the visionary leadership of our global prime minister, Shri Narendra Mohdiji.
01:24Nature-based solutions have become a central to India's development journey, which is a true reflection of that vision.
01:34I also extend my helpful thanks to Shri Bhupendra Yadwajji, Honorable Indian Minister for Art, Environment, Forest and Climate Change for his constant support to coastal states.
01:44Honorable Chief Minister, Shri Narendra Mohdiji has entrusted me with a challenging and yet inspiring responsibility, as I have already said, to increase, maybe your conservation at heart.
01:59So, to increase Aram Pradesh's green cover from 29% to 50% which is a big challenge that we are surely going to fulfill it.
02:08It is an ambitious goal, but with the guidance of Chief Minister and all the Chief Minister and the strong support from the government of India, I am fully confident that we will achieve it.
02:24In this context, Aram Pradesh has conceptualized a bold initiative of the Green Wall of Aram Pradesh.
02:32Let me be very clear, the Great Green Wall is not a routine plantation program.
02:37It is a large scale green defense system, designed to protect the host of people and our future.
02:43Through this initiative, we aim to create continuous shelterbelts using mangroves and shelterbelts plantations,
02:53perfect coastal villages, agriculture, crops, fisheries and vital infrastructure.
02:59Restook degraded the coastal areas using science-based and nature-positive approaches.
03:05Under this approach, mangroves act as the first and strongest land of business, as we have seen in the documentary.
03:10and shelterbelts plantations from the second and third perspective years.
03:18Human settlements and livelihoods are safeguarded with a very resilient and ecological shield.
03:26In this way, Wishti and Great Green Wall perfectly complement each other.
03:31Mangroves are a strategic natural infrastructure.
03:35They play a critical role in climate adaptation, cyclone production and carbon sequestration and biodiversity conservation.
03:45For Aram Pradesh, this is not an academic discussion.
03:49It is our daily reality.
03:51As we have seen in our previous documentary,
03:54cyclones, we get hit every year and loss of life and loss of property.
03:57I think this is a very essential element which we have to protect our coastal life to lessen the time.
04:05So our state has a very long, vulnerable coastline, frequently affected by cyclones and storm surges.
04:13At the same time, we are blessed with rich mangrove ecosystems along with Kundavari, Krishna and Panhard deltas.
04:23Over the years, we have gained a valuable experience in mangrove regeneration.
04:27So I truly appreciate Shantabriya, I truly appreciate Shantabriya Magharviji because with great efforts at Tupehar,
04:33I truly appreciate what Shantabriya has done to the mangrove regeneration.
04:37And the entire forest department hire the efficient species here.
04:41I mean, I truly, they have done an accommodable job.
04:44But also a lot of community-based conservation methods are integrated in the fish-of-home
04:51livelihoods with ecosystem production that have not been a part of it.
04:55So in 2020 alone, Andhra Pradesh has taken up to 700 hectares of new mangrove plantations,
05:01reaffirming our commitment to misty and coastal resilience.
05:05At the heart of all our efforts lies a simple principle, conservation will succeed only when people benefit.
05:13So we are focusing on skill development linked to mangrove restoration, livelihood opportunities through
05:22nurseries, fisheries enhancement and ecotourism, and incentives for production, monitoring and long-term stewardship.
05:31A good example is of an ecotourism initiative at Humsala Devi, the Krishna Saganas Airport.
05:38I really request you all if you have time to post this workshop,
05:42I wish you could ask our PCC of Ghana also to request them to take to Humsala Devi and make sure they understand what we have done to
05:51know the kind of achievement what you have done.
05:54Let them experience it.
05:55I request you all please let them be our guests.
05:58And whatever is needed from my son it will be done as a counselor.
06:03So here you can witness local communities or active partners earning a sustainable livelihood while protecting your precious natural and cultural heritage.
06:12Workshops like this are extremely valuable for sharing the best practices.
06:15I strongly believe in learning from other states.
06:18For example, when Andhra Pradesh was serious human-animal conflict, I personally approached the government of Karnataka.
06:27It would be, before it would be like, every forest field is confined to their particular state, especially in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
06:34Previous subject we have done is confined to the states, but they never looked out for the help from other states, which I personally, being a conservationist at heart,
06:45so I went and extended for the animal-human conflict and really thank the Karnataka government.
06:52They generously, thank them for generously sparing co-trained kumki elephants, help to train our staff and enable us to establish an elephant camp in Chithu district.
07:05This has significantly reduced human-animal conflict.
07:10We also adopted practices such as IT-based forest governance models, welfare funds for field staff and emergencies.
07:19Inspired by these, Andhra Pradesh has contributed, previously what Kantila then lately said, five doors to the welfare fund for forest department officials.
07:32And I felt it is my responsibility to stand by them, from any kind of political pressures, any kind of, sometimes they face certain direct consequences.
07:41We, from the government, from the government of AP, we assured them, any kind of issues they face, I think we are going to stand by them, we will empower them, we will stand by them, we will become a backbone.
07:54We will make sure that they won't get disrupted while they perform their duties.
08:01So, increased excretia, that's an amazing concept in AP is the immediate quick response.
08:07If some death happens between, between animal and human issues, the immediate excretia for human death is around five lakhs to ten lakhs should be, time to time is immediately to be released.
08:20And building a commitment to protecting human lives and livelihoods while ensuring human wildlife conservation.
08:29The state has launched the concept called HANUMAN Foundation, HANUMAN Foundation.
08:35HANUMAN stands for Healing and Nursing Units for Monitoring Aid and Nursing of Wildlife.
08:42It provides a unified framework to manage human-animal conflict, prioritizing human safety and farm livelihoods.
08:51Supported by trained rapid response teams for swift emergency response.
08:56Technology-enabled systems enable early mornings and transparent conversation by the Foundation focuses on prevention through hotspot mapping and habitat management.
09:07Strengthening community participation and interdependent coordination for sustainable objects.
09:14Beyond conflict mitigation, our approach also focuses on strengthening ecosystems and restoring natural balance.
09:22Accordingly, we have completely banned exotic planted species and are encouraging only indigenous species.
09:34Our nurseries are expanding from, say from 10 to 20 species to over close to 100 species.
09:43Our research centres have already developed 400 indigenous agencies and species.
09:48And we are now replicating this role across all districts.
09:51We are promoting nurseries and tribal areas and tribal communities to collect forest seeds and raise seeds.
09:59I firmly believe that biodiversity is the strongest response to climate change.
10:04I request all of our participating states to share their experiences so that we can learn from each other and move forward together.
10:12Before concluding this speech, I would like to say, for me the great damage that has been done to Mother Earth and recently, I think the day before,
10:22me and all the concern in all the concern in Frank Delaand and Degi, and PCC of Grau and rest of forest officials came together.
10:31And the goal given by the Unruple Repairman and Chief Minister is that to increase 50% green cover.
10:37The issue of the forest department which I have noticed, which I would like to share with you, is about, protecting the forest is the only duty.
10:49duty it is not about forestation or social forestry so out of that meeting we have said
10:55i mean we have concluded we're going to include the rest of the departments let it be revenue let
10:59it be gel shakti uh including penchant including education department this is all the uh council
11:05principal secretaries we are having regular meetings uh very soon we're going to come out
11:09with a quite an inspirational plan which will uh which is going to be a role model in
11:16creating very biodiversity natural shield across the state and also especially coastline and also
11:2550 percent green coverage with the help of communities with the help of officials and
11:32we're going to have a very very big idea and we're going to arrive very committed we are extremely
11:39committed as anand mohanji said state should take more responsibility state leadership more
11:47i should take more responsibility i have taken it to my heart and i promised him and also promised
11:55all the participants here amandr pradesh is going to really excel and it's going to be a role model
12:00my commitment is amandr pradesh is going to be a role model that's my commitment before we have about
12:05three and three and a half years and me being a conservationist this is what a big part i could do
12:11for our mother so it is not about one man could do it's all about collectively what we could do
12:17we could do together and that's what we are aiming ahead and we'll come up with that one more time i
12:23would like to share our experiences with you and in conclusion let me say this clearly mischi is
12:31not just a scheme it is an investment in india's bharat's coastal future the great green world of
12:39andhra pradesh reflects our commitment to turn this vision into action protecting lives livelihoods and
12:46the landscapes and the landscapes and the landscape assures its full cooperation to the ministry of
12:51environment forest and the climate change the government of india and all partner states in
12:58making mischi a national success with a global recognition i commit to that i would like to
13:05continue with the simple message protecting man who's today means safeguarding lives and
13:09livelihoods for the generations to come thank you and join
