00:00Well, a lot of things could be done.
00:07Essentially, it's a large real estate deal.
00:10A lot of things could be done.
00:12It's hurting Denmark very badly because they're losing almost $700 million a year carrying it.
00:18So they carry it at a great loss.
00:21And strategically for the United States, it would be nice.
00:24And we're a big ally of Denmark, and we help Denmark, and we protect Denmark, and we will.
00:29Well, we need Greenland for national security purposes.
00:37I've been told that for a long time, long before I even ran.
00:40I mean, people have been talking about it for a long time.
00:43You have approximately 45,000 people there.
00:46People really don't even know if Denmark has any legal right to it.
00:51But if they do, they should give it up because we need it for national security.
00:55That's for the free world.
00:56I'm talking about protecting the free world.
00:59Great job.
01:02And I also have a message tonight for the incredible people of Greenland.
01:09We strongly support your right to determine your own future.
01:15And if you choose, we welcome you into the United States of America.
01:19We need Greenland for national security and even international security.
01:24And we're working with everybody involved to try and get it.
01:28But we need it really for international world security.
01:31And I think we're going to get it.
01:34One way or the other, we're going to get it.
01:36It's become a little bit of a show.
01:38But we wanted — they wanted to see what was happening.
01:41But that whole area is becoming very important.
01:44And for a lot of reasons, the routes are, you know, very direct to Asia, to Russia.
01:52And you have ships all over the place.
01:54And we have to have protection.
01:56So we're going to have to make a deal on that.
02:03We need Greenland for national protection.
02:05They have a very small population.
02:07And I don't know.
02:08They say Denmark, but Denmark has spent no money.
02:11They have no military protection.
02:13They say that Denmark was there 300 years ago or something with a boat.
02:17Well, we were there with boats, too, I'm sure.
02:19So we'll have to work it all out.
02:22But he felt very strongly — we need it for national — we need Greenland for national security.
02:29Not for minerals.
02:30We have so many sites for minerals and oil and everything.
02:33We have more oil than any other country in the world.
02:36We need Greenland for national security.
02:38And if you take a look at Greenland, you look up and down the coast,
02:41you have Russian and Chinese ships all over the place.
02:44Just everybody.
02:46You don't know who comes along.
02:48But we just wanted peace.
02:50You know what Denmark did recently to boost up security in Greenland?
02:55They added one more dog sled.
02:58It's true.
02:59They thought that was a great move.
03:01We're devising a formula, but it won't be so much —
03:04We are going to do something on Greenland, whether they like it or not.
03:08Because if we don't do it, Russia or China will take over Greenland.
03:14And we're not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor.
03:17Okay?
03:18I would — I would like to make a deal, you know, the easy way.
03:25But if we don't do it the easy way, we're going to do it the hard way.
03:28Greenland said today, we prefer to stay with Denmark.
03:33Do you see that as the final word?
03:34Who said that?
03:35The premier of Greenland.
03:36Well, that's their problem.
03:41That's their problem.
03:42I disagree with them.
03:43I don't know who he is.
03:44I don't know anything about him.
03:46But that's going to be a big problem for him.
03:49I don't know who he is.
03:50I don't know who he is.
03:51I don't know who he is.
03:52I don't know who he is.
03:53I don't know who he is.
03:54We have got the strongest military in the world, and it's only getting stronger.
03:57And you saw that with Venezuela.
03:59You saw that with the attack on Iran, which is knocking out their nuclear capability potentially.
04:06So, yeah, we're talking today, though.
04:36Well, I don't think they're going to push back too much.
04:47Look, we have to have it.
04:49They have to have this done.
04:51They can protect it.
04:52Denmark, they're wonderful people.
04:54And I know the leaders are very good people, but they don't even go there.
05:00And, you know, because a boat went there 500 years ago and then left,
05:04that doesn't give you title to property.
