00:14Good morning.
00:14Good morning.
00:16Una sa lahat, siyempre, kwento nyo naman sa amin kung tungkol saan nga ba ang film na Mandirigma.
00:23Si Mandirigma, by the way, thank you for inviting us.
00:27Si Mandirigma, si Anjili Khan, aking bidah, Sahil Khan, si Aileen, Isaac Sabong.
00:39Mandirigma based on True Story, a Filipino-Afghan warrior.
00:43So directed by Danny Marquez and Derek Houssey Jr. under Viva Film.
00:50So already done in cinema, Afkaming, and Netflix.
00:54Oh, okay.
00:56That's nice.
00:56So this is your first time, bilang leading man.
01:01And with that first time experience, ano yung pinaka-challenging part?
01:06Of course, siyempre, lagi yung role ko dati, si Iba Filip lula, supporting role yan.
01:13This time, once the director choice para lead men, so it was very challenging for me.
01:19But we did it, and still, we will go for the next project also.
01:26That will be also, I will be there that year.
01:29And tama, no?
01:29This is based on a true story?
01:32Yeah.
01:32So it's a blend of fiction and true story?
01:34Inspire Bell's true story.
01:36So if this was a true story, was it filmed here or also abroad?
01:42This filming all here in Philippines.
01:45Okay.
01:45So we choice the location, sandpil di kasha, yung role sa sinasinahan.
01:51Okay.
01:52Okay.
01:52Can you share with us what was your memorable moment during the taping for this film?
01:58And did you have any realizations?
02:02Honestly, lahat memorable.
02:04Kasi it's really my first time po na maksama sa movie.
02:08Okay.
02:09And...
02:12Yeah.
02:13Go ahead.
02:14Yeah.
02:14Play me a picture.
02:16Go ahead.
02:16So how was your experience?
02:18I mean, doing a movie.
02:20Na true story.
02:21Kasi minsan ang challenge pagka true story yung pelikula,
02:25you have to make sure na somehow it's accurate doon sa pinagbasihin.
02:29So how did you feel?
02:30What's the most challenging part?
02:32Challenging part...
02:34Yung part po na may bed scene.
02:38Okay.
02:38But hindi naman siya naging parang naging super complex kasi
02:43dahil sa co-actor ko na really handle that part na
02:49hindi ako naging feel uncomfortable.
02:52Okay.
02:52Kasi I'm so comfortable.
02:55Okay.
02:55So may prof...
02:56Nandun pa rin yung professional is eh.
02:58Profession is eh.
02:58This was shown back in December 17, right?
03:01Last year.
03:01Yes, pal.
03:02Okay.
03:02First, I mean, how did you feel somehow to play a role dito sa Pilipinas?
03:07I mean, based on the true story.
03:09Was it fulfilling somehow as an actor?
03:12So actually, young acting skills start from my family background, Bollywood.
03:18So...
03:19So...
03:20You were perfect for the role dito sa Pilipinas.
03:21You were perfect for the role dito sa Pilipinas.
03:22So...
03:23You were perfect for the role dito sa Pilipinas.
03:23Yeah.
03:24A Pilipinas.
03:24A Pilipinas.
03:25And the grandfather, they've transferred to India and he lived there.
03:29So Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and then most of those people, they're cousin families.
03:33So for me, it's not something new.
03:38But since my mother Filipina, my father Afghan, so when I...
03:44You were perfect for the role dito sa Pilipinas.
03:45Yeah, so when the family broke and I left the country, and when I come back, so it was too much hard for me to focus my life.
03:57So I got homeless, from homeless after looking for my mother.
04:02Wow.
04:04And after mother, too much sacrifice is then go to a love relationship.
04:07Yeah.
04:08So that's the rule.
04:09Anjali Kang there with me.
04:10Okay.
04:11She's my Bida.
04:12And when I found out the mother and then love relationship, so then the homeless life or everything, sacrifice is the end.
04:21End time when life going better and I pass a showbiz also.
04:25Okay.
04:26So that time, so the story was very perfect.
04:28And when I meet with the director, the writer, and when we presented to Boswick Del Rosario, I was at Viva Films.
04:35So when you were making the film or when you were shooting it, kasama niyo ba yung pinagbasihan yung story?
04:41The person from the base, I mean from the true story.
04:43I mean, how did you study the role?
04:45Kasi ako kasi I'm really into movies based on true events.
04:50Right.
04:51So I'm curious.
04:52So nung ginagawa niyo yung pelikula, did you somehow study the role, I mean with the person, dun sa true story talaga?
04:58Once I explained the story to Boswick and then Boswick decide why we don't want to do a strip for this movie but we can choose.
05:10Then suddenly I had a producer, my friend, and he was able to produce it and he wanted me to be a lead man.
05:16Actually, my lead lady was Julia. That was the decision, first step. Then Boswick decide to go to Anjili Kang and we will pitch her.
05:31Okay, I'm curious lang ako kasi they're foreigners, right? So have you done films outside the country? Before?
05:39I've been work with two Korean series. One is Casino and the second one is at Airport with Lee Minho and Choi Minshik.
05:47They're very top stars, international stars. And then I've been work for two Japan series also. So that's my full experience.
05:56And how do you compare working with the Filipino crew, Filipino production, comparing with the past, you know, working outside of the Philippines in Japan and Korea?
06:06To be honest with you, dito sa samin bansa yung director and production team namil super mabayitian.
06:12Working with foreign production, with foreign directors, with teams is very hard, especially for...
06:18Actually, I'm a Filipino. So when you work with them, there are things that are totally very straightforward for you.
06:26Alright. So you cannot use phone, you need to be very... Take one, take two, it's done. There's no take three for you.
06:32If take three, it will be automatic big problem.
06:34Alright. How about for Kuya Isaac?
06:36I started content creation in the Philippines. So I don't have any experience back in my country. And I'm happy to say that I am holding 11 million followers in the Philippines. And I start from here.
06:51Alright. Well, congratulations. And thank you so much. We'll wait for this on Netflix.
06:55Yes. Maraming maraming salamat sa pabigyan ng oras sa amin ngayong umaga sa HILCAN ay Lee Santiago at Kuya Isaac.
