01:05At the Hugo Sala Socialist Communion in Venezuela, the acting president del Ciro Ríguez announced that funds from oil sales had been deposited in an effort to bolster the Venezuelan economy.
01:27Rodriguez explained that the of the initial $500 million, $300 million, had been deposited in the nation's coffers to cover workers' incomes.
01:36It is also worth remembering that on January 16th, del Ciro Ríguez specified that in this new stage for Venezuela, the Programme for Economic Recovery, Prosperity and Growth presented by President Nicolás Maduro in 2018 is being ratified.
01:50And this has enabled the Venezuelan economy to lead growth in Latin America.
02:03Meanwhile, in Caracas, the National Assembly held a meeting of the Advisory Committee, during which the National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez stated that eight major codes will be implemented to simplify and modernize the legal system.

04:58who did absolutely nothing to prevent a massacre, an ethnic cleansing that could easily have killed and made disappear babies, pregnant women, newborn children, girls, and especially women and children,
05:20in order to seek procreation in that beautiful biblical place of Palestine known as Gaza.
05:36Attorney General Tarek William Zapp also demanded the unconditional release of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Silvia Flores.
05:44When you look at it, there were between 100 and 120 innocent Venezuelan citizens, including elderly women and children sleeping at that hour who were murdered,
06:00as well as members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the security force from an agreement between Cuba and Venezuela.

08:05Authorities in Chile report that the forest fire emergency has spread to the Araucanía region,
08:11while one person has been detained and is under investigation for its alleged responsibility in the places.
08:16Precisely, the Chilean government confirmed on Monday that 28 forest fires are still being fought
08:22in the regions of La Araucanía, Newble and Biobío, with the death toll remaining at 20.
08:29Authorities also reported the arrest of a man in the town of Penco as the alleged perpetrator of one of the fires.
08:35In this regard, the executive announced that it will fire charges against those involved
08:39and condemned an attack on a fire truck in the municipality of Van Gogh,
08:43which Interior Minister Álvaro Elizalde described as unacceptable,

15:18Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted the invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Board of Peace for the Gaza Strip,

15:32Netanyahu's offices announced on social media on Wednesday that the PM will join the initiative as part of the Phase 2 of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas to end Israel's genocide war on Gaza.
15:44Numerous war leaders have been invited to join the body that should oversee the demilitarization and reconstruction efforts for Gaza.
15:51However, Netanyahu's involvement will add to concerns over the objectivity of the board, which will be led by US President Donald Trump.
15:59Meanwhile, European leaders have increasingly questioned the United States' role in peace agreements,
16:04arguing that the mediation has failed to ease humanitarian access or deliver meaningful political progress.

16:15For its part, Israel has begun demolishing the buildings inside the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees Headquarters in East Jerusalem,

16:32In a statement on Tuesday, the organization said that the Israeli forces had confiscated staff devices and forced them out of their headquarters in the Sheikh-Hahra neighborhood,

17:01In other news on Tuesday, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced a four-day ceasefire with the Kurdish-less Syrian Democratic Forces, SDF, in the northeast of the country.
17:19This announcement followed a report from the de facto government of an understanding with the Syrian Democratic Forces for a truce that came into effect at 8 pm local time.
17:29The Syrian army stated they also asked the Kurdish forces to provide the name of a candidate for the role of assistant to the defense minister in Damascus,
17:38as part of the efforts to integrate the SDF into the de facto Syrian state.
17:43For their part, the Kurdish forces have pledged to respect the truce, saying that they will not initiate military action as long as its forces are not attacked.
17:52Moving now to Europe. In Spain, the government reported that the death toll in the Adamus rail accident had risen to 42.
18:06Local authorities informed that another body was found in one of the Iria-trained carriages, while out of the 120 people injured, 37 are still hospitalized.
18:15They also informed that the cause of the crash remains unknown, though investigators found a broken joint of the rails, which likely created a gap.
18:24On his part, Spain's chief high-speed train engineer, Álvaro Aznar, stated that the earliest signs pointed to a mechanical failure.
18:32In this context, officials have ruled out sabotage and human error due to both trains were travelling under the speed limit for that section, and also said that the toll could still climb as recovery continues to work.
18:45Also in Spain, at least one person died and one of the 37 were injured in another train accident in Catalonia, where a retaining wall fell on a train truck.

19:10The incident occurred on the R4 train line in the province of Barcelona, where the train was unable to avoid colliding with the structure that had collapsed into the trucks after heavy rains hit the area.

20:40According to Kumamoto Prefecture Police, the wreckage was found on a slope inside a crater.

20:51However, based on their examination of the body and registration number, they believe it is highly likely.
21:06In other news on Wednesday, in the Seoul Central District Court, former South Korean Prime Minister Han Jook-soo was sentenced to 23 years in prison for his involvement in the 2024 Declaration of Martial Law.
21:18Han was sentenced for charges including engaging in key action of insurrection during the then-president Yoon Suk-yeol's imposition of martial law in late 2024.
21:28A judge has said that Han was among guilty because he failed to hold the cabinet meeting required for the declaration of martial law under South Korean law.
21:38The 76-year-old politician becomes the first member of Yoon's cabinet to be sentenced for his role in the martial law declaration in December 2024.
