00:00I think I'm just going to throw the questions to the audience first.
00:03Is there any question?
00:05Come on, people.
00:07I know y'all got a question.
00:08There we go.
00:10I just have one question for the audience.
00:12Okay, but go on.
00:13Okay, I'll be fine.
00:14She turns out, where are you guys going next?
00:17And talk about that.
00:19Okay.
00:21No, no, no.
00:23They just watched you tell them everything.
00:25You go ready.
00:26Keep talking.
00:27So the goal is to go everywhere.
00:28The diversity of black women's stories is vast, as we all know.
00:32We're all storytellers in here.
00:34So the desire is to go anywhere.
00:35Damien and I have oscillated back and forth about whether or not we're going to just go to Europe
00:40or do a special kind of black women.
00:43But there's also these beautiful stories across the continent.
00:46You know, what you all saw were two regions.
00:48Ghana has 16, right?
00:50You go to Nigeria.
00:51You know, one group has weddings one way.
00:54One group has weddings another way.
00:55And so we're open to how we tell these stories,
00:58but we want to tell them all.
01:00Ooh.
01:04Yes, yes.
01:05We're working with local producers everywhere.
01:07Everywhere somebody wants to be a part of this movement of She Shows Up,
01:11we are inviting and welcoming.
01:13Please be in contact.
01:15I think it's important for us to introduce ourselves.
01:18Okay, so I just want to let the audience know your name.

01:52Thank you so much.
01:53So I wanted to ask,
01:54what was the biggest inspiration behind your stories and your projects?
01:57And when you were trying to make the project happen,
02:00what did you want people to walk away with,
02:02you know, audience walk away with?
02:04You can go first.
02:05Yeah, so first of all,
02:07I just want to commend those who put together this session
02:10because I thought the synergy between all three films
02:13was just incredibly strong.
02:15You know, here I'm telling the story of a Jamaican
02:17who is an Ashanti who is from Ghana.
02:21And in the first one, she is also,
02:24I'm telling the story of my mom.
02:26So my mom passed away,
02:27and that was the initiative.
02:29Myself and my sister came together and did this film.
02:31So on one hand, it's born out of grief and family,
02:35but it's also telling the story across the Atlantic
02:38in terms of where we came from as people,
02:41being Ghanaian by ancestry.
02:44And when she shows up,
02:46it started off as a,
02:47it was a local interview series that Neal was doing,
02:51and she's such a great interviewer,
02:52I'm pretty sure from what you guys know.
02:54She's phenomenal.
02:55And I'm sitting there,
02:56I'm helping out with the show,
02:58and I'm like, yo, this is,
02:59she's such a great interviewer,
03:00and I think, I see this as global.
03:02I went to Ghana,
03:03and when I got there,
03:04and I saw the beauty and the vastness of Ghana,
03:06and I've seen it like I've never seen it before.
03:09I said, this is a perfect pairing.
03:11Let's make that happen,
03:12and let's expand this show
03:13that she had started and making it happen.
03:15Anything you want to add?
03:16Yeah, you said it perfectly.
03:18Yeah, so if anybody, that's amazing.
03:19Thank you so much for sharing your project with us,
03:21and thank you so much for audience for watching.
03:23If anyone wants to connect, please feel free.
03:25We're going to be outside
03:26to connect with people, your filmmakers.
03:28We don't have time for one question or two?
03:31We don't have time.
03:32I'm so sorry.
03:33Oh, come on.
03:33Oh, come on.
03:34We've waited so long.
03:35One question.
03:36We can do the questions.
03:37Yeah, we can do questions outside.
03:38We're running out of time.
03:39We can do the questions outside.
03:41Okay.
03:41They can ask.
03:43Yes.
03:44Thank you so much.
