Una featurette dedicata al film Warcraft: The Beginning.
Trascrizione
00:00For years, our world has been at peace, but something has come. I can feel it.
00:07Our world is dying. If our people are to survive, we must make a home here.
00:13Warcraft is a huge scale movie. This is really the high wire act of studio filmmaking.
00:18And we have ILM, the tyrannosaur of CG work, in our corner.
00:24We love to cast orcs and seven foot tall creatures, but they just don't exist.
00:28So, we knew we had to go to visual effects, and ILM was top on the list.
00:33Find these beasts, whatever they are.
00:37Number one challenge on this film has got to be nailing the orcs.
00:43We had to create a whole race of orcs that had to hold their own against the live actors in
00:47the film.
00:49The body motion capture was pretty traditional for us, but I think we really broke some ground with the faces.
00:54The first shot that we delivered was a close-up on Durotan.
00:58Very subtle, and yet there were important moments there to bring the character to life.
01:02It was really our way to show all the filmmakers, yes, we can pull these orcs off.
01:06And when they first saw it, they were floored.
01:08You could see his eyes responding, just these little subtle movements, and it felt alive.
01:13That was just an amazing experience.
01:18Hair is one of the most difficult things you can do in computer graphics.
01:21And we actually built one tool that we called HairCraft, that was custom software specifically all about grooming hair.
01:29The variety and the depth of what we did for this film, as far as really complex environments, crowds, characters,
01:36compelling performances, magic, creatures that we got to create.
01:39It's really a dream come true to be able to work on.
01:42ILM have an incredible history of work that they've done.
01:46They're on the cutting edge of pushing what's possible.
01:48They're pretty epic.
01:56They're on the cutting edge of pushing what's possible.
02:04They're pretty epic.
02:05I did ticent any thought.
02:05Yeah.
02:05Let's see.
02:05Uh, there you is.
02:06U.S5, yes, sir.
