L'intervista con la storica interprete di Sidney Prescott e la giovane attrice che interpreta sua figlia in Scream 7
Trascrizione
00:04Hello, I'm Andrea from Italy from WePlayer.at. Hi Nev, hi Isabel. It's amazing to be here with you both
00:11because Nev for me and so many other people, you are a true icon and Isabel, like a lot of
00:15people, I first discovered you in 8083 and I was absolutely blown away by your talent, so I'm super happy.
00:23Thank you so much, thank you.
00:26So, Scream is one of the few horror franchises that managed to stay culturally relevant across decades. Nev, in your
00:34opinion, what's the real secret behind this kind of longevity?
00:38I mean, originally, I think people were surprised at the wit of the first and the meta aspect of it.
00:46It was kind of groundbreaking in that way. The fact that these films totally are both terrifying and can be
00:53extremely funny, I think is a lot of fun for people to sit and watch.
00:59And Isabel, coming into Scream as someone closer to a new generation, what was your relationship with this franchise before
01:07joining it?
01:08I really, I sort of shied away from it initially. And then when I started getting involved in the audition
01:14process, when Kevin reached out and I got to speak with him and then, you know, had to try to
01:18impress Nev.
01:22She did a good job. I did my best, but I, but I, I started to consume it as much,
01:27obviously right away and then sort of fell in love with it. But I, I had some, I was anticipating
01:34just gore and there's a lot of humor and levity to it that I was surprised to discover.
01:41And Nev, if Wes could see Scream 7 today, what would you think he'd be most proud of?
01:48I think he'd be super proud of Kevin. I think Kevin's done a phenomenal job. I was lucky enough to
01:57be able to ask Kevin to do the film and, you know, was hoping he'd do a great job.
02:04But he really has, he's gone above and beyond. And I think Wes would have been, yeah, really, really proud
02:11of what he's done because I think the film's turned out really well.
02:14And it was somehow reassuring in a certain way to return to Scream with, with the father of Ghostface, Kevin
02:21Williamson, directing and guiding the story.
02:24Absolutely. I can't imagine who else could have done this, you know, or should have done this. I think Kevin
02:31has, I mean, he's wanted to direct one of these for years.
02:33And I, I honestly can't really understand why he hasn't. So that he finally got the opportunity and has done
02:38such a bang up job is really exciting.
02:41And Isabel, that's my last question. You've now worked with Kevin Williamson, who shaped pop culture through Scream, Dawson's Creek
02:48and Vampire Diaries, and also with Taylor Sheridan in 1983.
02:52What did you learn from Williamson that felt different from the Sheridan experience?
02:57Well, Taylor appeals to a totally different demographic, and I think an older demographic as well, whereas Kevin somehow has
03:04just been able to kind of dig into the cultural zeitgeist, not only at the moment, but of my generation,
03:11over and over again, which is pretty remarkable for the last three decades.
03:15And he's kind of reinvents that time and again. And so he was able to, 30 years later, at a
03:22different age, totally tap into what, what young people care about.
03:26Thank you very much. And kudos once again. Bye bye.
03:29Thank you. Bye bye.
03:32Thank you. Bye bye.
