00:01Okay, come on, let's go.
00:03All right, Link, you're stinkers.
00:05Another day in paradise.
00:06Let's go, come on.
00:10Lights, lights.
00:14Ha, ha, ha.
00:15Okay, another start of the day.
00:18So it is officially 8 a.m. starting off the day.
00:21You saw Link is just chilling in his favorite spot at the studio.
00:24And I've got a fun one today.
00:26So Acer sent over their new Acer Swift laptop.
00:29They thought I would do this cool little challenge.
00:31How I use the device.
00:32Typically, this is like where I review stuff like in my studio.
00:35But I've got a lot of cool stuff actually going on in my life right now.
00:39Obviously, studio is getting kind of renovated for when I move out.
00:42I've got some house updates and also some new car stuff.
00:46So I think like three or four different things to do.
00:48It is a busy day.
00:49And thanks to Acer for sponsoring this and providing you a bit of a glimpse on behind the scenes of
00:53all the different projects that I get up to.
00:55But we will start off first with this guy and getting him out of the box.
00:59So the first thing that I did was actually take out the laptop from its first box.
01:03It's almost like a box in a box.
01:04You can see it's the new Acer Swift 14.
01:06But this is the actual computer itself.
01:08You can see the first box.
01:09It's in white.
01:10So unwrapping it, you can see the color matches.
01:12It's in pearl white.
01:13It's made out of magnesium aluminum.
01:15So it's super lightweight.
01:16Like that's the first thing that I noticed right now.
01:18So it's under a kilogram.
01:20This is one of the lightest laptops that I've actually had the chance to hold.
01:23You can almost hold it with just two fingers.
01:25And since the laptop is pure white, I'm actually going to put this gray felt mouse pad underneath.
01:30And you typically don't see that in the final shot.
01:32But from this BTS, you can actually see some of the thought process that goes behind content.
01:37Now I can flip the laptop around and you can see it a lot better.
01:40And now we're back to the regular A-roll set that you guys are kind of used to seeing.
01:43But we're actually recording on three cameras.
01:45So we've got obviously camera A.
01:46Once again, camera B is the behind the scenes stuff.
01:49Once again, not as clean and tidy as what you guys are used to seeing.
01:52I'm actually just going to switch the audio from there to my, I guess, like more professional A-roll set.
01:59So that switch just happened.
02:00This is the laptop.
02:01So this is typically where I get to talk about specs of it.
02:04Like I said, the very first thing that I noticed was this matte display.
02:07Those huge windows.
02:09You can actually see I've got this like big studio light here.
02:12This is pretty much reflecting zero light.
02:15And as an actual spec, this has the world's first Corning Gorilla Matte Pro Glass on a laptop.
02:19Even as I tilt it up and down, you aren't getting any of that nasty glare.
02:23And like I said, it flips to 180 degrees.
02:26This thing is so, so light.
02:29Once again, that's two fingers kind of just holding it less than a kilogram.
02:32But it still doesn't compromise on any of the internals.
02:35This is rocking one of the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 processors, the 288V.
02:39It's obviously a Co-Pilot Plus PC, so it has some of the latest AI stuff built in.
02:43You can see it is running the Intel Arc graphics, which is technically integrated.
02:47You can also see some of the other certs for the display.
02:50So it is a 3K panel.
02:52It's 120 hertz.
02:53It's an OLED touchscreen.
02:54And with that extra benefit of having a matte display, once again, once we leave the studio,
02:59go a bit more outside on some of the different shoots, you'll really see how that helps cut down with
03:03the reflections.
03:04So it still has 32 gigs of RAM, a terabyte SSD for the rest of the ports.
03:08You've got a pretty loaded, you've got HDMI 2.1, you've got a USB-A jack, dual Thunderbolt 4 on
03:13one side.
03:14And then on the other, you just have the headphone jack, your second USB-A, and of course, your little
03:18safety mechanism for locking it in case you need it.
03:21One little thing that I did notice is on the trackpad, which has some clickiness to it.
03:25The mic can pick it up.
03:28It's decent size.
03:29And on the top right of it, you actually have the activity indicator, which lights up,
03:33which is kind of seamlessly built into the trackpad, full chiclet-style keyboard.
03:37It's got some like really nice travel to it.
03:39You know, one of the biggest things that I do in my day-to-day business is say like I'm
03:43just emailing with brands,
03:44kind of coordinating things.
03:45I am guiltily on Outlook as my email client.
03:48This will be very nice to type those out for hours at a time.
03:52And usually with magnesium aluminum laptops, since I've tested out so many,
03:55the big indicator for them trying to save weight is kind of the give or the flex on it.
04:00This doesn't move that much.
04:03Like I'm not getting that much screen wiggle.
04:05Like it doesn't feel cheap in any way.
04:07It still has like a premium design, but like I said, super lightweight.
04:11That is kind of what we shoot in the studio.
04:14Let's move on to the second part of the day, which I think is a bit more fun.
04:40And I think that is a wrap.
04:43So really happy how the interior turned out on my car.
04:46If you guys just saw, got that completely swapped out.
04:49Obviously got it done in orange, big fan of the color.
04:52And I think it ties in everything super perfectly like Pepita.
04:56If you're a big 911 fan, you know that that's really heritage.
04:59And obviously the contrast with the orange stitching looks so, so good.
05:03So I'm going to take some of that footage now that we shot like both vertical,
05:06horizontal for like short form for YouTube.
05:08And I'll actually just show you guys right here.
05:11So obviously there is the car right there looking really good.
05:14And on the passenger seat, I actually brought the laptop here.
05:19So let's actually grab this.
05:20We'll go inside the house right now and then we can do some edits and see what everything
05:25looks like.
05:26And look, who's here to greet us?
05:28Hi.
05:29Have you just been waiting inside like a good boy?
05:32Yeah.
05:33Hi.
05:34Hi.
05:34Are we going to do some edits right now?
05:36Lead the way.
05:38Okay.
05:39Okay.
05:40Everything onto the laptop right now.
05:41A little time check.
05:42It is 12 o'clock on the dot actually, and everything into resolve here.
05:47So you can actually see completely unplugged.
05:49This isn't actually a tethered to anything.
05:51We aren't losing any frames.
05:53You can see how smooth the footage looks and I can actually multitask, go into Lightroom
05:57and see some of the shots that I took.
05:59So I'm just going to spend a little bit of time editing.
06:01And that's the real benefit of this computer.
06:03You can use it obviously unplugged, untethered, the performance is still there.
06:07That's one of the big benefits of the Intel Core Ultra.
06:09I'm able to seamlessly switch between productivity tasks thanks to its three powerful AI accelerators.
06:14That's the CPU, NPU, and the GPU kind of all working together.
06:17And I think for the next little bit, I'm just going to work on this edit.
06:20And if I ever want, I can just hit that co-pilot button.
06:22I can ask it questions if I'm curious, maybe about the car, maybe about some of the features.
06:26And let's hit a bit of an editing session right now.
06:35All right, so midday, taking a bit of a break from the edit, we are sitting at around like
06:4073, 74% battery life, which is really good.
06:43But one thing that I remember when I was initially like designing like this entire place was using
06:48this app called SketchUp.
06:50It's kind of like an entry 3D designing software.
06:53You can actually access it just straight from the web.
06:55It's actually kind of cool to go through the original drawings, which I made to kind of see
07:00what the differences were like, for example, we kind of nailed the large four windows from
07:06the SketchUp to what we have here.
07:08We, of course, got maybe some of the details like the stairs wrong.
07:11We just didn't know that this had to be like actually part of the structure.
07:16But for the rest of it, living room into the TV room, which the TV room console looks honestly
07:22very similar.
07:22Maybe we missed out a bit on link.
07:24And even the kitchen, they all came out really, really close, which is really cool to kind of
07:29check back on.
07:30Obviously, the performance of the Swift Edge 14 has been great and even under direct sunlight.
07:34So if we come back to the big room here with all the windows, we can use it without pretty
07:39much any reflections.
07:40It's still usable with that fully matte display.
07:42And even when we were outside shooting content of the car right there, still very easy to see.
07:50Okay.
07:51Link, you're in the way of the video.
07:54You're right in the way.
07:55Look, camera's right here.
07:56Can I film?
07:58What's up?
07:59So it is end of day.
08:01We're just kind of heading out now.
08:03Lots of good stuff at the house.
08:04Link, obviously, in tow.
08:06And we will head back to my place and wrap up the rest of the day.
08:11Right, Bubba?
08:12Touch.
08:14All right, Link.
08:14Let's go.
08:20Okay.
08:21Go.
08:22We're home.
08:23We've made it.
08:25Link, we made it back home, buddy.
08:26Okay, ready?
08:27Show the people what you got on camera.
08:29Ready?
08:30One, two, three.
08:30Hip.
08:31Oh, it's a one for one.
08:33Good boy.
08:35Okay, that is a long one.
08:37Just going to drop off all the stuff.
08:40Long day, especially shooting it in the sun.
08:42All the car stuff really zaps you.
08:44But usually when I kind of wind down, I try to play maybe like 10, 15 minutes of gaming
08:49a day.
08:49I'm not going to be playing like any AAA titles.
08:52But MapleStory, if any of you are familiar, like 2D MMORPG.
08:55It's been out for like 15 years.
08:57I just do my daily little fix.
08:59I did download Warhammer Space Marine 2 on this.
09:03It's not going to run at the highest settings.
09:05But considering this has integrated graphics, you're still able to play on like lowish settings
09:09and still like untethered, unplugged.
09:12Which I feel like for most laptops, it just would stutter.
09:15It wouldn't even be able to handle.
09:17So you have that option.
09:18I also like to show you guys what I do.
09:21And boom.
09:23Oh, I am going to join Link on the couch.
09:26He has pooped also.
09:28Link, you mind if I hop in with you here?
09:30I'm going to put my feet up.
09:32Oh, I don't want to disturb.
09:34One, two.
09:35A laptop out.
09:36You can see the time.
09:376.01.
09:40And now on YouTube, this is where I get to watch like a little bit of content.
09:44If you guys haven't seen this before, it's Local Project, which is an architectural YouTube
09:49channel.
09:50Just covers some of the nicest houses.
09:51A lot of like inspo for my stuff.
09:54This is where I like to veg.
09:55Just watch content on a screen.
09:57What's nice, the laptop is super lightweight.
09:59Just plop it down.
10:00Link is also hanging out.
10:02And that is pretty much like my evening or the rest of the day.
10:07I'm maybe going to do this for like an hour, cook some dinner, and then I actually am
10:11watching a show tonight, Rufus DeSalle.
10:20If any of you guys are fans, they're in town in Toronto.
10:23So that will conclude my day.
10:25That'll be my time with the laptop.
10:28Solid performance.
10:29Hope you guys enjoyed like a day in my life, how I actually use stuff.
10:33Hope you enjoyed seeing Link be Link and some cool little projects, cool little updates
10:40to the house and tying it all together with this bad boy.
10:44Catch you in one of my next ones.
10:46Peace.
