00:14Every time you stop, start and turn, you wear down tires, so it's one of the biggest
00:19source of air pollution in cities. It's also one of the biggest source of microplastic
00:23pollution in our oceans. We actually burn almost 2 billion tires every year, because
00:29so few of them are actually recycled back into tires again.
00:42They tend to wear out tires faster than traditional cars ever did, because of the added weight and
00:49power and propulsion energy that just goes into the ground when you accelerate or brake.
00:54People drive them more aggressively, which again wears tires faster. They're mostly
01:00driven in cities where lots of tire pollution is generated because you have those stops, starts
01:05and turns.
01:21We do this with changing the raw materials we select, the recipes we use, the construction
01:28of the tire. Our tires are about 20% cheaper than other premium players. By reducing the
01:34amount of intermediaries between us and our customers, we're actually able to offer these
01:39tires at a lower price.
01:50The team is incredibly proud of the recognition. It was the first time any major celebrity talked
01:55about tire pollution. Suddenly we have one of the most famous people in the world, Prince
01:58William, highlighting the problem and highlighting efforts to combat the impacts that tires generate
02:07on our planets.
02:07We'll be right back to you later.
