00:03A winter feast like no other. Perched high above the Nicholson River in East Gippsland,
00:12180 diners are tucking into a gourmet experience.
00:15Coming and having lunch on this trestle bridge was going to be an experience that I've never
00:19had before and I was going to make sure that I was going to do it once in my life.
00:23We loved it last year here and so we thought why not come this time as well.
00:33The Long Lunch is a feature event of a month long winter festival showcasing Victoria's East Gippsland region.
00:41Everything served here today is all local. Who wouldn't really want to have a lunch sitting on a 180 metre
00:47trestle bridge?
00:49It's the festival's sixth year, born of a need to bring people together after the Black Summer bushfires.
00:55I guess the bushfires was the real catalyst that I thought if there was a time that we really needed
00:59the visitors to come and experience what's on offer here in East Gippsland, that was the time.
01:04And it's gone from strength to strength with over a hundred events across the region.
01:08From a winter solstice swim, to a medieval festival in Brewthen, there really is something for everyone.
01:18It's not just a food and wine festival, it's not just a music festival.
01:22It's showcasing and celebrating everything that we love about the region.
01:26Beautiful weather, beautiful food and great company, so yes.
01:29Cheers to that. Cheers.
01:30Cheers.
01:30A location, worthy of a toast
