00:00For me it's a pleasure to be here today at Aquila to celebrate these 40 years in Italy and I
00:06want to say that in these 40 years McDonald's has really managed to integrate with the socioeconomic economy, becoming part
00:12of the society, if we want, of what is the society, the Italian society.
00:16In the years we have been able to test relationships with suppliers, institutions, local partners, distributing them in the Italian
00:23territory and thanks to a study done by Altesis we were able to quantify exactly what is the socioeconomic contribution
00:31that we bring,
00:32a little bit of the economic and social consequences that we see in society.
00:37The results are really impressive, we are talking about 29 billion dollars of value, which means that it is in
00:43terms of salary, tax, work that is left,
00:48and at the level of investment with suppliers, we are talking about over 13 billion dollars.
00:53I think this is a really tangible sign of how a large company that comes from the ocean to integrate
00:59with the needs and needs of the territory,
01:03restituendo a little bit of what it takes.
01:05In fact, for every euro invested in McDonald's, they return three to the society as a value.
01:10And we believe that this is a really concrete way to see how an company can integrate with the socioeconomic
01:17economy of a country.
01:17In Abruzzo we are very proud of being here today, in particular in this city so important,
01:22that this year is also the capital of culture,
01:25because we are able to open our second restaurant in the city,
01:29the fourth in the province of Aquila,
01:31and we have more than 18 restaurants in Abruzzo,
01:35which includes about 1.000 people,
01:37which is a sign of presence and normalcy in a country so important in our country.
01:43In addition, from this territory, we have one of our most important suppliers,
01:48Amadoria, who is one of the most significant hub product.
01:50In addition, I'm very proud of sharing a recent partnership.
01:55In the beginning of the year,
01:57we have over 700 McAffè,
01:59we have 8 tons of organic milk from Abruzzo,
02:03from Adi Apicoltura.
02:05This project we have done thanks to the support of the Ministry of Agriculture,
02:09with Aqualivita and the Federated Apicolture Italian
02:13and I believe that this is a sign of how a large company
02:16can put in the service of the field in difficulties.
02:19This is not the first project that we do,
02:21but this is a project that impact in this region
02:23and I would like to emphasize it.
02:24This project of the book Generations McDonald's
02:28nasce from the desire to make a leap in the past
02:32to restrain the country 40 years of history
02:36of a brand that is then become a patrimonial of the country.
02:40It is a book, it is a material material,
02:44it is something beautiful to have,
02:47to exfoliate, to guard.
02:49There are also beautiful photos of the past
02:51but also of the present of our brand.
02:54It is a brand colorado,
02:55it is a brand full of life,
02:57so exfoliating it,
02:58we are going to be able to take a look at this
03:00life told in the 40 years
03:02not according to a chronological course,
03:05so we are going to walk from the present
03:07to the past and also to the future
03:09and there is a memory of the memories,
03:11the memories of the first opening of McDonald's in Italy
03:15in Piazza di Spagna
03:16until we get to today
03:18where we are part of the landscape
03:21of this country,
03:22part of the community
03:23we are also going to talk about how we are inserted
03:26in the territory
03:27and how we dialogue with the people
03:29through our projects
03:31that are developed
03:32by our ormai 170 students in Italy.
03:37Now, instead,
03:37we are going to tour
03:38to present this book
03:40and the first city we have chosen
03:43was the Aquila
03:44because we have opened
03:47a restaurant to Aquila
03:48at the beginning of January.
03:50Aquila,
03:51this year,
03:51is the capital of culture
03:52and for us,
03:54it is important to start from here
03:56because
03:57having opened this restaurant
03:59in the historical center
04:00of the Aquila
04:01testimonies
04:02the certification
04:03of the normalness
04:05and there is nothing
04:06more beautiful
04:07than the day,
04:08especially for a city
04:09like the Aquila
04:10that has suffered
04:12and has been raised
04:13and I think
04:14it will be fun
04:15because the story
04:17of McDonald's
04:18is the story
04:21of Italy
04:21and the Aquila
04:22is certainly part
04:24which means
04:24a very important
04:26company
04:26that comes to 40
04:27and decides to invest
04:29in a city
04:30in the city
04:30and the city
04:30and therefore
04:32that
04:32has been
04:33for all of us
04:37to be
04:37economic
04:37means
04:39that
04:40that
04:40it means
04:40that
04:41it means
04:41it means
04:41that
04:42the
04:44you have
04:46seen
04:47with the
04:48the
04:48new
04:48and
04:53that
