00:00I've just returned from Ubisoft's Singapore game studio, where I went hands-on with the
00:04new Assassin's Creed Black Flag re-sync, and let me tell you, this is not a game to miss.
00:08Braving Singapore's formidable humidity felt fitting as I readied myself to re-enter the
00:12pirate life we first saw with the original Black Flag back in 2013.
00:17However, I was not prepared for the visual splendour, enhanced gameplay, and expanded
00:21story this time around.
00:23Stepping back into the boots of Assassin slash pirate Edward Kenway, and returning to the
00:28lush Caribbean setting, here reimagined with Ubisoft's Anvil game engine, it wasn't long
00:32before I was swashing buckles and shivering timbers to my heart's content.
00:36You've never seen naval combat recreated this vividly.
00:39Thanks to the fidelity on screen, you can almost feel the sting of sea spray between cannon barrages,
00:43and the audio has also been overhauled, with Dolby Atmos dramatically improving ambience,
00:48weapon clashes, ship sounds, and more.
00:50The enhancements continue on land with upgraded stealth and parkour mechanics, making it more
00:54satisfying to creep up on unsuspecting enemies, or deliver fatal blows from on high, and combat
00:59is more nail-biting too, thanks to the advanced foes that now populate the Caribbean, including
01:03the deadly new demolitionist archetype.
01:06You have plenty of opportunities to put your sword slinging to the test through an expanded
01:10range of missions, including the chance to recruit three new officers, each with their
01:14own fascinating backstory to your ship, the notorious Jackdaw.
01:17With Assassin's Creed Black Flag re-synced, sailing the high seas has never looked, sounded,
01:22or felt better.
01:23Don't miss this thrilling pirate romp when it launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and
01:29on July 9th.
01:30And they're going to
01:31ARR!
