What's your fav film sim and why? 👇

Ben finally explains Fujifilm’s film simulations using the in-built dial on top of the new Fujifilm X-T30 III, shooting here with the FUJINON XC13–33mm F3.5–6.3 OIS.

The Fujifilm X-T30 III will be available in late November 2025 and will cost AUD$1,679 (body only) in Australia.

00:00Why is everyone obsessed with Fujifilm cameras and their film simulations?
00:04Today, I'm going to show you why.
00:06So I've got the new Fujifilm X-T30 Mark III,
00:09and it has 20 film simulations accessed on this dial on top of the camera,
00:14which makes it really easy to shoot when you're out and about.
00:17The camera weighs just over 350 grams, which means you can almost pocket it.
00:20Let's take some film sim shots, and I'll show you the difference.
00:23So my favorite film sim is classic Chrome.
00:26I'm just going to run everything in full auto for this, just for argument's sake,
00:30with zero on the exposure compensation.
00:34And these shots look really good.
00:39So standard is what the word is, basically.
00:42It's a super nice flat image with not too much saturation,
00:45not too much sort of artificial sharpness.
00:47It's also got a autofocus AI detector, so it kind of knows what the situation is.
00:53So right now, if I point at the camera, it knows that it's looking at a greeny sort of landscape.
00:57And then if I point at the sky, it knows that it's the sky,
01:00and it adjusts the color and the film simulation accordingly.
01:03So hopefully that explains why everyone's so obsessed with Fujifilm's film simulations.
01:08The coolest thing you can do now is wirelessly connect an Instax printer
01:11and print out a real photo.
01:13Or you can just chuck it on your Instagram, like everyone else.
01:16Here we go.
