00:08I'm Jenny Gilbert. I'm co-founder of Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre and turtle researcher at
00:14James Cook University. So what we do is we look after sick and injured turtles that come in from
00:18the reef. What happens is people find the turtles either out on the ocean and a lot of these
00:23commercial boats will pick them up and bring them in or there's even people out fishing that will
00:28bring them in or they get washed up to shore with injuries or threats. We start off with one turtle
00:33and two people and now we have five centres, 120 volunteers and these people are doing it because
00:39they want to do it. It's an unfortunate thing. Turtles have gone through the dinosaur age. It's 150
00:46million years and the sad part about it is their population's declining worldwide and it's all due
00:52to human interaction. The main problem is human interaction. So you know the increased plastics
00:56in the water, increased shipping in the water, nets. All of these things contribute to the decline of
01:02turtle populations which is going to cause a problem in the future. When we first visited
01:08Fitzroy Island there was a passion and dedication of the team here at the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation
01:12Centre that really resonated with the SACO Save the Ocean campaign. It's a project that seeks to
01:18protect marine environments across the globe. Supporting the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre
01:24was a natural fit for SACO as marine conservation is something we take seriously. By adopting a
01:30rescue turtle and following its rehabilitation journey we're not only contributing to a vital
01:34cause but also helping to bring attention to the broader importance of ocean conservation which is
01:40at the heart of what Prospect stands for. We believe we've created a beautiful timepiece. This
01:47watch is directly inspired by Fitzroy Island and its turtles. This timepiece has the most amazing dial
01:52colour and texture. These ocean greens and blues mirror the waters surrounding Fitzroy Island which
01:58will appeal to collectors and will give back to this magnificent environment. We have a lot of people
02:04that step up that want to help and it's fantastic but through education and media and awareness now
02:10people realise these turtles are in trouble. To have support from SACO is amazing. It allows us to
02:16actually continue the great work that we're doing at the rehabilitation centre. Turtles are an indicator
02:21of the ocean so if you've got turtles here it means that they've got a very healthy ocean. They want
02:26to be out there, they want to live and they want to be saved and the sooner we get them
02:30obviously the
02:31better chance that they've got. When the inspiration for this watch is this beautiful location and the
02:36amazing work being done here it makes it easy to create something that has purpose that our followers will
02:42be drawn to. It's a reminder that their choice supports turtle conservation and helps ensure future
02:47generations will experience the beauty of these incredible creatures in the wild.
