00:00Mercedes-Benz just showed Jaguar how it's done with the release of this gangster concept car.
00:05While most concept cars look like they were designed with a room full of turtlenecks,
00:09that's not the case with the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic.
00:13Quite frankly, it looks like Don Vito Corleone designed it,
00:16and there really should be a horse head sitting on the passenger seat.
00:19First thing that comes to mind is Mercedes Maybach or Maybach when it was new,
00:23Accelero, the Cadillac 16, and even a Daimler double six from way before my time.
00:29But we've always known Mercedes to have a strong sense of presence and status,
00:33but I don't think that's been the case. At least they've stayed away from it
00:36the last 10 years in their design language, but I think this one definitely returns to that.
00:41When we look inside, it's something that Mercedes is calling hyper analog.
00:44So they want to hark back to some of the stuff from the 1930s,
00:47but they want to bring it into the modern era with heaps of lighting and even AI integration.
00:51But it's not all glitz and glamour. There's plenty of innovation here,
00:55none of which is more important than the solar modules on the external surface of the vehicle.
01:01Mercedes says that if these were to be put into production,
01:03you're looking at 12,000 kilometers of extra range per year.
01:08You also get level two ADAS as standard for around town, and then when you're on the freeway,
01:13you can turn on level four autonomous and just sit there.
01:16And Mercedes says you can take a nap, stream, watch a bit of TikTok, do what you do in 2025.
01:21I'm really into the Vision Iconic, but let me know what you think.
01:24Does it best Jaguar's Type 00 concept? Let me know in the comments.
