00:10has got pretty good including action mode on iphones but you can't beat things like this

00:26to even compare it to the mobile 6 is it worth upgrading and how does it work in the real

00:31we're going to show you guys in this video let's get this thing unboxed it's very apple like i always
00:36find dji products a simple apple like in their unboxing they've got all these nice things you
00:42can pull i think we're going out the side today there we go start with the little box i think
00:49this is going to just be charging cables so we've got the mount for your phone which actually looks
00:57like it's improved over the osmo 6 microphone i'm assuming oh so this is actually a special little
01:04product this is the module which i'll talk to you about in a second so we'll put that to the
01:09side for
01:09now cables i reckon i have a million of these usb-c cables but these little ones are actually really
01:15helpful here it is the main event we've got our osmo mobile 7 this is the p as i mentioned
01:21so in hand
01:22i can already tell this thing is super ergonomic and it's apparently the lightest weight gimbal in
01:28its class at 300 grams we will weigh this thing and confirm that but 10 hours battery life in this
01:34is
01:34not class leading but if you're shooting for that long maybe get a camera
01:42hey while we're here let me show you this so usually on that mobile 6 the previous generation
01:47one you had to screw on with the quarter 20 that base plate to make it stand up well look
01:52at this
01:55inbuilt and it still has if you can see on the bottom there the quarter 20 so you can mount

02:01thing easily so we compare sizes because it is important this is our bag that you get with
02:08the osmo pocket 3 this has the camera batteries battery handle microphones and a whole lot of
02:14stuff in it actually we pack that thing i want to get out the mobile 6 as well just for

02:21this one is a lot heavier you can see that it's a little bit taller this new one because of

02:26base but pretty similar in size honestly and that's not a bad thing because they're both quite ergonomic
02:32you've got back triggers on both them usb-c charging the same most of the same modes they're both
02:38quite good for size comparison here's the pocket 3 bag so pretty similar overall
02:46the day that dji stops giving us bags is a sad day because i've got so many of these things

03:00little module it's called the multi-function module and it's what makes the 7p version that little bit
03:06more expensive and get this stuff out of the way and then we'll attach it to the gimbal so same

03:12before pop it open like this i'm going to extend these legs let's sit on the table here while we

03:19up the camera so this is really easy to attach it just has some springs in it you want to
03:25put it right
03:26in the middle of your phone so it can balance on the gimbal and once that's attached hook it on
03:32face it towards where you're shooting find the slots that it's in what does it do i'll show you
03:40now so once it's connected what can you do with it it has number one for me a light so
03:45when you're
03:45filming selfies and all that vlog content it can light you up it's similar to that media mod for the
03:50gopro so if you're filming right now or your vlogs on a gopro this could be another option it's also
03:56something that you can't attach to the osmo pocket 3. so gesture controls number two for me really
04:03helpful when you hold your hand up to the camera and it's in video form you have to be using
04:07the
04:07dji app for this it active tracks your face and starts recording and then when you hold your hand
04:12up to it again it stops recording besides this it also has ability to hook up itself to the dji
04:18mic
04:18minis which is perfect when you're vlogging today we're working with dji mic 2 on a lav it's a really
04:24useful little module for 60 bucks i think it's worth it all right now let's talk about some of
04:29the finger controls you have here on the grip so the grip's quite comfortable it's quite ergonomic it
04:34has enough grip to the point that it stays in your hand because you don't want to drop this thing

04:38have the scrolly wheel here so you can adjust zoom smoothly because you don't want to be pinching the
04:42screen while using it you can fine-tune the manual focus and give a button to put the thing into
04:48manual and go through all the different modes that it has the record button and the screen flip
04:53buttons that's pretty much it for the controls you can also extend this thing i don't know if i
04:56touched on it earlier but it's particularly helpful when you're filming on desks and you want to get
05:01that eye level shot but enough going on about this gimbal i reckon we use this thing you've seen the
05:07gesture control it's in the light we're gonna check how this gimbal actually works so i'm gonna go film

05:45it's good because i think what so when you zoom in so if i like bring it too close it

05:59i think the gimbal works quite well and i should actually mention that
06:03it's got a very strong magnet because you don't want your brand new iphone
06:07to fall off the end of your gimbal how did the gimbal look i reckon it looked pretty good
06:12i'd be pretty impressed by this thing so far i think the main selling point for it for me would
06:18be that module and the gesture control which is particularly helpful when you stick it down on
06:23the table as i keep saying i would love to see what that standard seven models like
06:28because the tracking on this one is particularly good i say it's definitely better than the mobile six
06:33which is what we've been using for a very long time until we've got our pocket but i think
06:36you'd be super over the moon with this and for 219 bucks i reckon it's a really good investment if
06:42you're a content creator or even an up-and-coming youtuber even youtubers could use this because i've
06:46got to say the camera quality of new smartphones is very good so let's get to my final thoughts
06:53so what do we think of the osmo mobile 7 well i love this little thing right here i love

07:00multi-function module i reckon it's worth the extra 60 australian dollars over that regular one even
07:05i haven't used the regular one but i couldn't live without this i've used the osmo mobile 6 which
07:09doesn't have it and i kind of want it other than that everything's upgraded a little bit it definitely
07:15fits on your phone a little bit nicer it's kind of easier to take on and off and i love
07:20the fact
07:20that it's lightweight and it packs down super easy there's nothing worse than having to fumble around
07:25with your gimbal as you're packing it down but look at that straight away tuck your legs in and it's
07:30nice
07:30compact 300 grams do we think it's worth the money absolutely when you consider the fact that the
07:35pocket 3 is so much more expensive than this and you probably already have a mobile phone this will
