00:00Vasco snatched a draw practically in the last second against Independiente Medellin.
00:05For the first game of the Copa Sudamericana playoffs, a match in Colombia.
00:12Vasco fielded the team considered the starting lineup by the new coach, Pedro Emanuel.
00:16He played his second game; in the first, he was defeated by the winner.
00:20A match in which Vasco fluctuated quite a bit, started well, had the best opportunities,
00:25They conceded a goal in the final stretch of the first half, a quick transition behind Puma's defense.
00:29since Barros also failed to get into the penalty area to score, to complete his marking,
00:34And Vasco went into halftime losing the game.
00:37Upon returning for the second half, Vasco quickly managed to equalize, to level the score.
00:43with an own goal, a good play by Andrés Gomes, with Cuiabano,
00:47which were Vasco's main weapons in that match,
00:51The left side functioned much better than the right side with Puma and Adson.
00:56which fell well below.
00:58So, through that play, Vasco da Gama managed to find...
01:02Cuiabano went all the way to the byline, crossed it back,
01:04and the opposing team's defender pushed the ball into his own net,
01:08leveling the score.
01:09The problem was that Vasco then retreated in the match.
01:12Vasco was better than Independiente Medellín throughout the first half.
01:16and also, in that brief instance of time he had in the second half,
01:21They controlled the game, so Vasco was the better team.
01:23And with an equalizing goal, Vasco retreated, inviting Medellín into their own half.
01:27And so, the Colombian team scores their second goal.
01:31A strange scramble in the area, the ball falls to the player,
01:35Montanha had even scored the first goal for the Colombian team.
01:39When he kicked it, the ball looked like it was going out of bounds.
01:42Coesta will try to intercept and push the ball into his own net.
01:46Defended by Mel Jardim, no chance for the goalkeeper.
01:49And then the game seems to be over for Vasco.
01:52Vasco has slowed down in intensity and has had few opportunities.
01:54They made a lot of mistakes, both teams made a lot of mistakes in the match.
01:57The Colombian team also makes mistakes very easily.
02:00So it seemed that Vasco was already accepting the result.
02:04That would bring a one-goal defeat for Rio.
02:06to try to reverse the result next week,
02:10but then a good play by Cuiabano on the left,
02:13crosses to the middle, finds Spinelli,
02:15who had taken Brenner's place,
02:17Once again, Spinelli is performing well in the Copa Sudamericana.
02:20scoring their goals, and then Vasco manages a draw.
02:23Vasco's performance was very good,
02:25It may have been even better than in the match against Vitória.
02:29a team that managed to create a little more on the offensive side,
02:33But Vasco's performance is still very weak.
02:37It's not a solid thing.
02:39Vasco's performance is quite inconsistent, and this match was very much like that.
02:43It fluctuated quite a bit, with good and bad moments.
02:45even if these good moments aren't quite what the fans are hoping for.
02:50But overall, the 2-2 draw was a good result.
02:54A result that Vasco is fully capable of reversing.
02:58to win here in Rio and advance to the next phase
03:01to face Olimpia in the 3rd round.
03:05Vasco has already faced Olimpia twice in this competition during the group stage.
03:10He won one and lost another.
03:12So, for next week, next Wednesday,
03:14At 7 PM, Vasco hosts Independiente Medellín at São Januário.
03:20in search of qualification for the round of 16.
