If we had our way, we'd have a fan running 24/7 (directed toward our hair, of course). Call us indulgent, but the fact remains: Nothing beats the hair-meets-air, windblown look achieved when a breeze hits just right. And, it seems we're not alone in our admiration for this sultry style. When we spotted windswept updos at Tom Ford's spring '14 show, we were, yes, blown away.

Needless to say, it finally dawned on us. We, too, could achieve this easy, breezy look (sans actual breeze). To teach us how, we called in hair-pro Bethany Brill — and, trust us when we say she totally delivered. Watch as our beauty assistant Gabrielle gets swept away, above.

00:03Your mom's breezy. Your mom's a windblown look. Your mom's a windblown look.
00:16I really loved the windblown look from the spring runways so I asked Bethany to
00:20come in and show me how to do it. We're gonna start with damp hair and add about
00:24a handful of mousse depending on how much hair you have. Scrape the mousse
00:28evenly distributed throughout your hair focusing around the front. Then we're
00:34gonna use a blow dryer to blow the hair up and away from the face. You can use
00:39your fingers to direct it. Now we're gonna add powder wax for texture. This is
00:44gonna add the grip to the hair that will keep it looking like it's blowing. Add
00:49texture wax to the crown for volume as well. Use hairspray on the sides and pull
00:57back the hair sort of taut to the side of your face. Use a clip to set it tucking
01:02the hair behind the ear.
01:08Run your fingers through your hair hold them there and then spray behind your
01:12fingers. Fix any misplaced hairs and spritz them into place. If you have short
01:20hair make sure you spray back the back pieces so that you don't see them from
01:24the front. Final step just remove the clips. So here's our take on a cool breezy
01:33windblown look.
01:33Very good.
