00:00Hey guys, it's Ariana Davis here and I am with the one, the only, Hailee Steinfeld.
00:05Hi!
00:06We are going to be talking today about lots of fun stuff.
00:08Music, eyewear line, lots of cool stuff happening.
00:11But first, we have a game of Refinery29 called Celeb 10-9-8
00:14where we count back from 10 and we ask you some rapid-fire questions.
00:18Oh gosh, okay.
00:18These are going to be intense.
00:19Okay, I'm ready. I am.
00:21Starting with number 10, something that you would never do again.
00:24Ugh!
00:25I feel like I will live through these, like, certain experiences and be like,
00:28okay, never again.
00:29And now that you've asked me, I can't think of any of them.
00:32I feel like I have yet to do something really stupid that I might regret.
00:36Number 9, your favorite trait about your zodiac sign.
00:39What is your zodiac sign?
00:40I'm Sagittarius.
00:41Sag.
00:42I feel like Sagittarius are supposed to be, like, a little mysterious.
00:44I feel like that's always kind of one of the traits.
00:46Calling it mysterious.
00:47I'm calling it mysterious for you.
00:49Number 8 is your best excuse for being late.
00:52Oh, I don't really have any good excuses.
00:55I just apologize until they forgive me.
00:57Excuse for being late.
00:59Traffic.
01:00Number 7, someone you want to meet in heaven.
01:03Oh, wow.
01:04That's a deep one, right?
01:05Yeah.
01:06Could be Michael Jackson.
01:07Could be someone in your family.
01:08I was literally thinking Michael and Whitney.
01:09That's so funny.
01:10That's a good combo.
01:11Number 6, a problem that you want to fix.
01:15I mean, there's, like, deep answers like racism, and there's also, like, you know,
01:19more, like, I want there to be less commercials on TV.
01:21I feel like I just want to watch stuff all the way through.
01:24You know what?
01:24Well, I agree with both of those things, so.
01:26There we go.
01:27Number 5, a favorite song for a drive.
01:30There's a song called I Like Me Better by this artist, Love.
01:33And I love driving in the car listening to that song, especially by the ocean.
01:39I don't know.
01:39There's something about it.
01:40Okay, so I have to check that out.
01:41Number 4 is, what was the last text that you sent before you walked out the door?
01:46I think it was to my dad.
01:48It was just an emoji.
01:50That's kind of how we, okay.
01:51Nice.
01:52I love when parents use emojis.
01:53I know.
01:54Oh, my God.
01:54And he's got, like, the bitmoji thing, too, and it looks too much like him.
01:57That's such a parent thing.
01:59That is definitely a parent thing.
02:00Number 3, give Refinery29 some advice for free.
02:03I've said this before, I'll say it again, and I always sort of love to hear this from other
02:07people, and that is to sort of find your light, find what makes you happy, and don't let anybody
02:14tell you that it's not right for you, because if it is what makes you happy, then it can
02:18never be the wrong thing.
02:19I love that.
02:20Yeah.
02:20Number 2, is something that you do when you're feeling blue?
02:23Sometimes I'll just sort of go into my room, light a candle, listen to some music,
02:28or sometimes if it's something that I kind of want to get my mind off of, I'll call some
02:32friends and go for a walk, or I don't know, just lay low.
02:35Alright, so number 1 is take a selfie with us.
02:38Oh, word!
02:39Okay.
02:40Ready?
02:40One, two, three.
02:42Nice!
02:43I want to talk about music.
02:45You're in the upcoming Pitch Perfect 3 movie.
02:47You also have your own music going on.
02:48When did you first fall in love with music?
02:51I can't even tell you.
02:53It was so early on in my life.
02:54I grew up in a household that all different genres of music were playing, from R&B on my mom's
03:03side, and my dad was classic rock, and my older brother is sort of everything in between.
03:08Music's just always been such a huge part of my life, and it's always been part of my
03:12plan.
03:13Wanting to record my own music, write my own music, and perform, and the acting happened
03:18first, and so it sort of became a matter of, like, how can I do this in a way that
03:21makes sense?
03:22And then Pitch Perfect 2 happened a couple years ago, and that was the perfect bridge
03:26into making music, and now I'm making music, and now Pitch Perfect 3 is happening, so.
03:30Perfect combo.
03:30Yes.
03:30We're all big fans at Refinery29.
03:33Pitch Perfect 3.
03:33I want to talk about that.
03:34How do you feel like this third installment in the series is different than the previous
03:38two?
03:39Oh, gosh.
03:40Well, apart from it being a lot funnier, the music is awesome.
03:45The performance numbers are really great.
03:46We spent weeks in advance preparing for those, and there's a lot of great cameos in this
03:52movie that I think people are going to be really excited about.
03:54What's the vibe like on set for you guys when you're filming?
03:56Because I feel like you must have so much fun together.
03:58It really is a blast.
03:59I mean, to call singing and dancing for three months straight work is crazy.
04:05But yeah, it's so lighthearted and so fun.
04:08Trish C, who directed the last film, is amazing and just set the tone for everybody and
04:13was just a fearless leader.
04:15And so your latest single was Most Girls, right?
04:17Yeah.
04:17So what would you say is the message that you want viewers or listeners to get from Most
04:22Girls?
04:22What's the message that you were trying to send with that song?
04:25Well, Most Girls sort of came from the experience of seeing and having this sort of happen to
04:30myself as well.
04:31A guy complimenting a girl by saying they're not like Most Girls.
04:36And I guess sort of accepting that, having accepted that as a compliment in the past and
04:40in ways wanting to hear that from a guy.
04:44It just occurred to me that it's really not much of a compliment.
04:47Little do they know.
04:48It's slightly offensive.
04:50And it's me sort of being sort of struck by this realization that most women, all women,
04:55girls are amazing and intelligent and have a story and have something to offer.
05:00And I'm more aware of that now than I think I've ever been.
05:03And I'm inspired by that.
05:04You're so wise beyond your years, I feel like.
05:07What's your favorite song to sing acapella?
05:09Like on your own or in the shower or in the car?
05:12I feel like I will just sing a medley of like whatever's on my mind and that happens
05:16to be like the most random songs.
05:20I haven't stopped listening to Bruno's album.
05:22I love that album.
05:23I can't wait for Miley's.
05:25I love Malibu.
05:26That's been amazing.
05:28I have a new venture.
05:29Tell us a little bit about it.
05:30What's it called?
05:30What was the inspiration behind it?
05:32Why did you want to get into eyewear?
05:34So this line, Prevay Reveaux.
05:36I am someone that has a very hard time keeping track of things with all of my travel,
05:41including sunglasses.
05:42They are incredible quality for a very affordable price.
05:46I want to try one of these on.
05:47Which one would you recommend?
05:48Whatever you're feeling.
05:49I was looking at those.
05:51Okay, good.
05:51I feel like you must know my soul.
05:54Yes, girl.
05:55Work.
05:55I like them.
05:55Love it.
05:56I found my weekend look.
05:57Nah, I love it.
05:58And you always have an amazing beauty look, like with your hair and your makeup.
06:02What is your kind of go-to beauty look or beauty secret when you're not feeling at
06:07your best?
06:07How do you kind of put a little pep in your step?
06:09Love a little mascara.
06:10A little highlight.
06:11You know what I'm saying?
06:13Concealer.
06:14Because like, oh my god.
06:15That's the best.
06:16But secret, my real secret, is when I don't want to do any of that, I throw on a pair
06:21of these shades and go over the day.
06:23Sunglasses would cover up anything.
06:24You know?
06:25It's true.
06:25And you still always look like a rock star.
06:27Thank you, Haley.
06:28Thanks for coming.
06:29Of course.
06:29And we will talk to you guys soon.
06:31Haley Seinfeld, thanks for joining us.
06:33See you guys next time.
06:35Back to the project.
06:35What I thought here?
06:35It becomes just a постро that shape.
06:35If you leave this channel, everything looks the same anyway.
06:36When did you need them for a favorite turnaround stance?
06:36How?
06:36You can see them premiere.
06:36You
