00:06Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably noticed there's a lot of holographic makeup in the beauty sphere
00:13lately.
00:14There are lipsticks, nail polish, eyeshadows, and of course, highlighters.
00:18So, I'm very excited because I got this Milk Makeup Holographic Powder Quad that I'm very excited to try today.
00:29And then, when I was in Forever 21 earlier this week, I found this one from this brand called Lottie
00:36London.
00:37It's the Shimmer Quad, and it's only $11.
00:39So, I thought, why not try them both on my face today?
00:44This quad of highlighters retails for $49.
00:47Not the cheapest highlighter quad on the market, but really beautiful nonetheless.
00:52Four shades here, a beautiful little pearly white.
00:56That's nice.
00:56There's a metallic peach.
01:00So, it's sort of like a frosty peach on its own, and then it hits the light just so, and
01:06then it turns a little bit pink.
01:08So, that's cool.
01:10Then, there is, I guess, peachier shade.
01:14So, the difference between the two highlighters that I just swatched.
01:18This top one has a little bit more of a purple-y sheen, whereas this one down here is a
01:25little bit more pink.
01:27Finally, the last one is this bluish shade.
01:35And I will, I'll be completely honest when I say that I've actually never been ballsy enough to wear a
01:43highlighter that's like blue or green or purple.
01:45So, this, it might be the day.
01:47Nice.
01:47So, this quad from Lottie London, this is the Shimmer Squad Holographic Hall.
01:53Not the same kind of vibe, but let's swatch them and we'll see.
01:57So, this white shade called the BFF looks really frosty and white in the pan, but actually, when it's on
02:04your skin, it has a little bit of a pink shift.
02:07So, I'm going to move on to the Rebel, which is this blue shade.
02:13It's not very holographic.
02:14It's more of a metallic highlight, in my opinion.
02:16The Thrill Seeker, that's next.
02:19It's another blue highlighter.
02:21Kind of looks the same, to be honest.
02:24Then, finally, the Gossip.
02:29That one's a little bit more holographic.
02:31It has a little bit of like a yellowy, greenish sheen.
02:35That one's really pretty.
02:36For the sake of this video today, and that we're going to really go for it, I'm going to step
02:40out of my comfort zone a little bit.
02:41I'm going to go for this blue one.
02:43So, in terms of brushes, I think I'm going to use this highlighter brush that I have from Anastasia Beverly
02:50Hills.
02:51And I'm going to dip it into the blue highlighter.
02:56I'm going to put the milk highlighter on the left side of my face.
03:05When you see it in the light, it's like boom.
03:09It's very xenon, she'd be proud.
03:11I'll be honest and say that I was kind of scared of using a blue highlighter, but I kind of
03:16like it.
03:17I like the way it looks.
03:17I like that you can look in the mirror and you're like boom, that's my highlight.
03:20So, I'm going to try the Lottie London version from Forever 21 right now.
03:24The Chimaclade.
03:25But I'm taking my brush.
03:27I'm going to put it onto the right side of my face.
03:31Right off the bat, this one is much sheerer.
03:35So, that milk highlighter that I just put on, I got that holographic swipe with one application of it.
03:43In terms of the Lottie London one, it's looking a little bit more metallic to me.
03:47So, I'm going to dip into the product a little more and put it onto my cheekbone again.
03:53I'm seeing it a lot more now.
03:55Let's be real honest here.
03:58Blue highlighter sounds freaking crazy.
04:00I like it.
04:01I think it looks good.
04:02I've never worn a blue highlighter before, so maybe this is going to be like my thing.
04:06So, this is both highlighters on.
04:12First impressions of the two highlighters is that the Lottie London sign is definitely more metallic, less holographic,
04:20whereas the milk is like a true, boom, holographic highlight.
04:23Although, I will say they look really beautiful.
04:25They're not catching on my skin in unflattering ways,
04:29but I'm very curious to see how they'll wear.
04:32I'm going to go on the street and I'm going to ask some people what they think about my two
04:36highlighters,
04:37if they can tell the difference, their general thoughts,
04:40and I will reconvene with you at the end of the day so I can give you my final verdict.

05:35I am winding down for the day and I've got to say,
05:40highlighter looking good.
05:41I went out today, as you saw,
05:44to ask a bunch of random people what they thought about my highlighter,
05:48which, not going to lie, is one of my favorite things to do,
05:51aka talk to random people about makeup.
05:53The Milk one does look just a little bit more interesting, I want to say.
05:59It's a more interesting highlighter because it has that duacombe finish.
06:02It has the other colors in the palette, like the orangey pink and the peach.
06:08So, I don't know, I think the Lottie London is a really great palette to use
06:11if you don't want to spend too much money and you want to kind of dip your toes
06:14in the holographic kind of blue highlighter realm.
06:17They were both really lovely, but I think the Milk one is one that I'm going to experiment with more.
