00:00This is actually the longest my hair has been in years.
00:03Having curly hair extensions, I feel like it will be really heavy and I feel like it will be hot.
00:08Hi, my name is Kayla and I'm going to be getting curly hair extensions.
00:12Before you see my hair transformation, subscribe below.
00:15One of my curly hair icons is my mom.
00:18She was growing up, you know, 70s, 80s time, so she had a giant afro.
00:23People were always fussing over it, trying to get her to straighten it.
00:26And she just held strong and kept it curly.
00:28Because of my mom, I always wore my hair curly and I was never somebody who straightened my hair all
00:34the time when I was younger.
00:35She kind of gave me that empowerment in my hair.
00:39Having curly hair extensions, they're going to be perfect, beautiful curls.
00:43But I'm nervous my hair will change texture and then it will be super obvious.
00:47I'm also a little bit nervous about the color matching because I have a birthmark on my head which makes
00:53some of my pieces blonde.
00:54But I really just want to experience that feeling of having, like, long, luscious, curly hair.
01:00And I feel like it will make a huge statement.
01:02Let's get started.
01:06Hi, Kayla.
01:07Hi.
01:07Nice to meet you.
01:08So nice to meet you.
01:09Hi, I'm Christo.
01:10I'm the artistic director of Christo Fifth Avenue and Curlisto Systems.
01:14Nice little hair.
01:15Beautiful.
01:16Thanks so much.
01:17All right, let's see what we're going to do today.
01:18Obviously, my hair is nice and voluminous, which I really like.
01:21But I would love to kind of reduce some of the frizz and the damage to it while also getting
01:26additional length and seeing some of that extra pull from it.
01:29Dryness, frizziness, any kind of damage is easy to reverse it.
01:33That's why we're going to do the damage control treatment today.
01:36With the diametric scythe, we're going to elongate a little bit your hair so it's not going to have so
01:39much bulkiness.
01:40So you're going to see a nice length.
01:41From there, if we need to add extension, whether it will be extensions that can help you grow your hair
01:45out.
01:45But definitely, you're going to start to see length in the next few months.
01:48Yes.
01:49Would love an amazing, shiny, long transformation.
01:53Let's do it.
01:53Okay.
01:56Kayla, she had beautiful hair, but it was a lot of protein and moist and was very freezing and very
02:02dry.
02:02So what we needed to do is to first come up with a plan.
02:06The plan was, number one, give her the diametrics cut in order to elongate her hair a little bit.
02:12Number two, do a treatment that's called damage control, which is from my Curlisto line, that helps to extra moist
02:19the hair and the curl to have a more softer look.
02:23Almost gives you the illusion that the hair got a little bit longer by itself.
02:28I'm coming from Greece.
02:29I have curly hair myself.
02:31Structural impotence are good.
02:32Condition that has moisturizers are good.
02:34Coconut oil, it's still not really adding any moisture.
02:37No coconut oil, no Greek oil, no Arcano, no Bailey oil, no oil.
02:41That's so interesting.
02:42Always are good for salads, massages.
02:51Could this be my new Tinder picture?
03:04My worst haircut ever was when I was in elementary school and this was before I started going to a
03:10curly hair specialist who knew what they were doing.
03:12They washed my hair, they straightened it, and then they asked me what haircut I wanted.
03:17They cut my hair into a bob.
03:19I go home, I'm so happy, I take my shower, my hair scrunches back up, it curls, and I literally
03:27felt like I looked like a clown.
03:29Back in high school, I put so much gel in it to just keep it down.
03:33And I did that for so many years.
03:35I don't know what went off in my head finally where I was like,
03:37okay, it's time to embrace your volume, your frizz, all the things.
03:41Thank God, because this wasn't cute.
03:46We used a leave-in conditioner called Repair Cream.
03:50That was the first thing that we used to style the hair.
03:52Prior to that, we used the natural line, the natural shampoo and conditioner,
03:56and the mask in order to moisturize the hair.
03:59We used two stylers.
04:00One was the structural lotion, and the other one was the control tube gel.
04:05Both the combination will give us the definition of the curl.
04:08Our hair, it is our number one accessory.
04:11When our hairs look good, we feel good, we do good.
04:15It's very important that you invest in your hair.
04:18Don't fall back, because you can be wearing the most beautiful dress or the most beautiful suit.
04:22If your hair doesn't look good, you're not going to look good.
04:25So invest in your hair, and then you'll be a lot happier.
04:30Oh my gosh.
04:31What do you think?
04:42It's so light, which is shocking, because the extensions are still in.
04:45But it feels so much lighter than when I came in, and it feels so, so soft.
04:50You're a curl magician.
04:52I like, suck, honestly.
04:55Being able to work with somebody who actually can look at my hair and diagnose it, pretty much,
05:00and then not just say that, but also achieve that was, like, just such an amazing experience.
05:06For curly hair, it's so rare to actually be with someone who can do all of those things.
05:11So I have my little prescription now with all of my to-dos after nourishing the hair, making
05:18it shinier, making it less damaged, and getting that treatment.
05:22On its own, it was, like, so much longer, and I feel like it's just a good, like, little boost
05:27of not only confidence, but also reassurance that long hair is going to be a good move.
