00:00I'm Lizzie Fink and this is 5 Days of Halloween Costumes.
00:04Hey guys! Thank you for coming over to our channel.
00:07If you're new, click right here to subscribe.
00:09And if you're old, welcome back!
00:12Halloween is fast approaching, so this week I'm trying 5 DIY Halloween costume ideas that I found on Pinterest.
00:19None of the costumes that you're about to see in this episode were my original ideas.
00:23I just wanted to test out how easy or how hard DIY internet costumes really are.
00:30Today's costume was a DIY bag of jelly beans.
00:34Woo!
00:34I also brought along some special Halloween edition Jelly Belly candy to really get into the spirit.
00:40I wore all black as the base for this costume, but you can wear anything you want.
00:44Props needed for this costume.
00:46Balloons, scissors, a 13 gallon or bigger clear trash bag, a stapler, tape, and a printout of the Jelly Belly
00:54logo.
00:55First, I blew up the balloons.
01:02That was pretty good.
01:03Some flew away from me.
01:06Some balloons popped.
01:09But once I had enough balloons inflated, I cut small holes in the base of the garbage bag for my
01:14legs.
01:14And I intentionally made these slits really tiny so that once I put my legs in, my legs would stretch
01:20the trash bag,
01:21and then it would be the perfect size hugging my thigh.
01:23I stepped into the bag and then I pulled it up over my shoulders.
01:27And we're in!
01:30Ugh!
01:31No!
01:32And then I filled up the bag with balloons.
01:39Lastly, I cut out the Jelly Belly logo, stuck tape onto the back of it, and popped it right onto
01:44the belly of the bag.
01:47Now you're a bag of jelly beans.
01:49At the very end, some balloons were coming out of my arm holes.
01:52So that's when I took the stapler and I stapled the bag beneath my armpits to keep all the balloons
01:57in place.
01:57And just like that, I was a bag of jelly beans.
02:00Fast, easy, and fun.
02:02Would highly recommend.
02:07Today I followed the directions for a DIY sheep costume.
02:11Props needed for this one.
02:12Cotton balls.
02:13I wound up using about 400 total cotton balls for this project, so make sure you have enough handy before
02:19you start.
02:19A mini sewing kit.
02:20A white dress.
02:21A white beanie.
02:22Black and pink felt.
02:23Fabric glue.
02:24And a hot glue gun with a ton of extra glue sticks.
02:27Perhaps most importantly, I have this stray piece of cardboard that I'm going to use under the dress,
02:33so that I don't hot glue gun the two sides of the dress to one another.
02:37The first step is to hot glue gun the cotton balls all over the entire surface area of your dress.
02:42I'm talking the front, the back, the sides.
02:45Anywhere there's dress fabric, there's cotton balls.
02:48So much more to go.
02:50If you pull on the cotton balls a little bit to spread them out and make them puffier,
02:54they come out looking a little bit more fluffy on your dress,
02:57and then that way each cotton ball takes up more space on the dress,
03:00which saves you a lot of time.
03:02PSA!
03:02Even though I made the cotton balls bigger,
03:05this process still took a very long time.
03:07Like over one hour to get the cotton balls onto the dress.
03:11So have patience, and definitely do not try to make this costume on your way out the door.
03:15Next I did the hat, and by this point I had developed a really nice time-saving hot glue gun
03:20technique,
03:20whereby you just draw a line of hot glue on the hat, and then stick the cotton balls on it
03:25in a line.
03:25Very fast, very efficient.
03:32I cut out two sheep ears in black felt, and then a little bit smaller versions in pink felt.
03:38And then using the fabric glue, I layered the pink on the black.
03:41Then I was supposed to sew the ears onto the hat, and I even had a mini sewing kit handy.
03:46But truthfully, sewing is not my specialty, and the rest of this DIY project already took way longer than anticipated.
03:53So I decided to speed things along and just hot glue gun the ears onto the hat.
03:57At the end, I filled in any missing gaps with some extra cotton balls, and then I drew on a
04:02sheep nose.
04:03Using my liquid eyeliner, I filled in my nose black.
04:05Then I drew a line from my nose down to my upper lip, and added freckles.
04:10Huh!
04:11When it was done, I had to pull off some dangly cotton balls from the bottom.
04:15But overall, this dress looked really great and was so soft.
04:18This is a costume for all those people out there who like to be warm and cozy on Halloween night.
04:26For my mid-week DIY costume idea, I decided to ditch the internet and instead invite over one of my
04:33all-time favorite Instagrammers, Color Me Courtney.
04:36I listed out for her a few things that I love.
04:39I gave her a little bit of inspiration, and then from that, she pulled together an original DIY costume idea
04:44that really suits me.
04:46Take one guess of what I told Courtney that I love that she then turned into an original idea.
04:51Pizza!
04:53Duh!
04:53We had a pizza party.
04:54Oh my gosh, you look just like pizza!
04:56You too!
04:57Thanks!
04:57Especially with the red, you've got the tomato sauce on you already.
05:00Thanks!
05:00That's the nicest thing anyone's ever seen.
05:01I'm a mozzarella slice.
05:03I'm a mozzarella.
05:04Well, yes.
05:05Exactly.
05:06Well, yeah.
05:08Instead of just making a normal pizza costume, we thought it'd be more fun to give it like a fun
05:13party twist.
05:14So, we are gonna start with these twinning yellow dresses.
05:18We cut out the different pizza toppings from felt.
05:21Here are our lovely pepperoni.
05:24We made some pink ones, some orange ones, cause that's way more fun.
05:27Then we hot glued them onto our dress and our party hats.
05:30Grabbed our ranch dressing clutch purses.
05:33Ranch cheers.
05:34Cheers!
05:35Thanks!
05:36And then we waited for our pizza to arrive.
05:37Where is the pizza?
05:38I don't even have a watch on.
05:42Here we are!
05:43Pizza!
05:47Hey!
05:51Yum!
05:53Our pizza has arrived.
05:55These costumes were so easy.
05:57They came out looking so good.
05:58And it's also the perfect excuse to carry around a pizza pie on Halloween night.
06:05For my fourth costume of the week, I became one of my favorite movie characters of all time.
06:10Darla from Finding Nemo.
06:12You know, the little girl in the dentist office that shakes Nemo in the bag and asks,
06:16Why are you sleeping?
06:18Wake up fishy!
06:20For this look, I started out in a white collared shirt and a yellow plaid skirt that I ordered on
06:24Amazon Prime.
06:25I have this purple long sleeve crew neck sweatshirt.
06:29So I've printed out the exact print that's on her shirt.
06:32This incredible set of fake braces.
06:35I've got this little fishy.
06:37And of course, we're gonna fill it up with water.
06:39And shake it!
06:40Two hair ties because I'm going with pigtails.
06:43High socks.
06:44Scissors.
06:45Tin foil, which I'm gonna roll up and use to make a head brace.
06:49Hot glue gun.
06:50I started by cutting the Rock and Roll Girl logo out and then mounting it onto a piece of really
06:54thin cardboard using the clear school glue.
06:57While I let that dry, I put my hair up in pigtails.
07:00Next, I cut out the print on top of the cardboard and then mounted that onto the sweatshirt using the
07:05hot glue gun.
07:05I rolled up the tin foil into two lines to make a headgear retainer type contraption that extended from behind
07:12my ears to my mouth.
07:13Then I put on the sweatshirt, pulled up the knee socks, popped my fake teeth in, and filled up the
07:20Nemo bag with water.
07:22You really have to get into character for this costume and honestly, once all the pieces of the puzzle are
07:26there,
07:27and you have the fake teeth in and the pigtails and the fish in the bag, it's really not that
07:31hard.
07:32Hello!
07:34Hello!
07:36Nice fishy.
07:40For my final costume of the week, I searched Pinterest until I found a costume idea that was very punny
07:45because I love puns.
07:47So today, I became a serial killer.
07:52Get it?
07:53I killed cereal.
07:55Because this DIY can get a little bit messy and I was doing it on my bed, I started out
07:59by putting a white sheet underneath everything for protection.
08:02Off to the side, I had a bunch of empty cereal boxes, a denim jacket, a hot glue gun, scissors,
08:08this headband, and plastic knives.
08:10I glued each cereal box closed, poked a hole in each with a scissor, and then one by one glued
08:19them to the back of the jacket.
08:22Then once they dried, and this is the fun part, I rammed my plastic knives right into the boxes, killing
08:28the cereal.
08:32And then I introduced the fake blood.
08:36That doesn't smell good.
08:38I drizzled the fake blood all around and then using a knife, I spread it.
08:42Truthfully, if I hadn't been sitting on my bed, I probably would have used more fake blood and I might
08:47have gotten my hands into it and gotten a whole lot messier.
08:50At the end, I picked up a jug of milk and a real sharp knife.
08:54Do not try this at home kids.
08:56Safety first!
08:58This was a fun costume that was very affordable, very easy to make, and it will definitely get a laugh
09:02from your friends when you tell them what you are.
09:04And those are five DIY Halloween costume ideas from Pinterest that I made my own this week.
09:10I would love some more costume suggestions, so please comment below and let us know what you're going to be
09:15for Halloween this year.
09:16And in the meantime, let me know which one of these was your absolute favorite.
