00:05:44¡Gracias por ver!
00:05:55Vain, you have found a clean human bride. The ceremony continues.
00:06:00Sign your name. From this moment on, you are my legal spouse for one year.
00:06:04After one year, the contract is automatically dissolved.
00:06:11Very well. The lineage of the Vain family finally has a legal safeguard.
00:06:15The council will monitor the progress of your marriage closely, Lord Draken.
00:06:18A home visit once a month.
00:06:20Don't think you can last a full year here. Humans don't survive a month in this place.
00:06:30Your blood. It took three seconds longer to turn red than a normal person's.
00:06:36Marcel, enough. Take her to rest.
00:06:39Arrange for her training on the castle rules first thing tomorrow morning.
00:06:51J-ijk.
00:06:52¡Gracias!
00:07:34Terminated early, meaning you can have my brother killed whenever you like.
00:07:41I said I would not harm you, I said I would not harm him, as long as you keep your
00:07:44end of the bargain.
00:07:46What did Marcel mean, about the blood taking longer to turn red? You saw it too, didn't you?
00:07:52At the ceremony.
00:07:57Your brother is coming to see you this afternoon.
00:08:08Sis, you're okay, I thought-
00:08:11I'm fine, what about you, how are your injuries?
00:08:15Just scratches. Sis, did that vampire-
00:08:17Don't say it here.
00:08:21Leo, listen to me.
00:08:23From now on, get as far away from New Orleans as you can.
00:08:26Go find Uncle Ben in Mississippi.
00:08:29Wait for me there.
00:08:30I can't leave you-
00:08:31You're not leaving me.
00:08:33If you go, I can do what I need to do here.
00:08:35Do you understand me?
00:08:40Sis...
00:08:41Are you a demon?
00:08:43Miss Blackwood, visiting hours are over.
00:08:50He will kill you.
00:09:05He will kill you.
00:09:16Things you don't need to ask about.
00:09:19I'm your wife in name.
00:09:21If the Council ever asks me what you're hiding in here, I need to know what to say so I
00:09:26don't get killed.
00:09:28Inside are my mother's belongings.
00:09:30300 years ago, after she was killed by demon hunters, the Council sealed her things inside.
00:09:35Anyone who is not a pure blood vampire who opens that door triggers us the Council's curse.
00:09:39You were protecting me.
00:09:40I was protecting the Covenant.
00:09:42If you die, I lose my claim to the throne.
00:09:56Council marriage ordinance, article 37.
00:09:59Human consos must undergo a monthly physical assessment.
00:10:02We will check your fitness, blood quality, and mental state.
00:10:05Blood quality?
00:10:06Malnourished human blood smells sour.
00:10:08That taste is revolting.
00:10:09It ruins the clan's appetite and mood.
00:10:11You may run your tests.
00:10:12But if you so much as break a single hair on her head.
00:10:20Rest assured, Lord Vane.
00:10:22We are people who follow the rules.
00:10:29Just one vial of blood.
00:10:31It won't hurt much.
00:10:32Though we don't usually use anesthetic on humans.
00:10:36Vampires don't have a concept of anesthesia.
00:10:46You're blood.
00:10:48It smells strange.
00:10:50Not sour.
00:10:51It's...
00:10:55Enough.
00:10:56One vial is already more than the rules require.
00:10:59Now leave my estate at once.
00:11:08Little girl, Elder Victor will find out your secret.
00:11:12That birthmark on your palm.
00:11:14We've seen it in the council's ancient books.
00:11:17It belongs to the demon hunter clan, wiped out 300 years ago.
00:11:21Blackwood.
00:11:24Next month's home visit, Victor will bring holy water.
00:11:47What are you reading, Miss Blackwood?
00:11:52Just browsing.
00:11:54Am I not allowed in here?
00:11:55Is this a restricted section?
00:11:58No.
00:12:00But if you want to learn about your family, I can tell you what you need to know.
00:12:03How do you know?
00:12:07Because I was the one who put that silver knife there.
00:12:10In the hidden pocket of your gown.
00:12:16I apologize for the way I did it.
00:12:18But if you hadn't been carrying silver with you, you would have died at the blood test last night.
00:12:25What are you saying?
00:12:27Silver turns pure human blood black.
00:12:29But for a demon hunter descendant, the black is neutralized into dark red.
00:12:33On one condition, your skin must have been in contact with silver powder within half an hour before the blood
00:12:37is drawn.
00:12:38The hidden pocket in that gown is lined with silver powder.
00:12:41Why are you helping me?
00:12:42You work for Draven.
00:12:44I'm not helping you, I'm helping Lord Draven.
00:12:46300 years ago, the last demon hunter of the Blackwood clan saved Lady Bane's life when the council wanted her
00:12:50dead.
00:12:51Lord Draven doesn't know this, but before Lady Bane died, she made me swore that if a Blackwood descendant ever
00:12:55needed help, I would give it.
00:12:58So Draven's mother owes my ancestor a life.
00:13:00And now he's using this marriage covenant...
00:13:02What he's doing isn't a covenant.
00:13:03He could have chosen any human woman.
00:13:05He chose you.
00:13:05Because he saw you tap that door three times at the card table.
00:13:08He knows what you are.
00:13:09He's afraid of you, but he also...
00:13:29You know...
00:13:30Know that my entire family was wiped out by your kind?
00:13:33Know that you locked me in the house of my ancestors' killers to play at being your wife?
00:13:37My lord, Miss Blackwood only...
00:13:38Leave us.
00:13:44The death of your ancestors and the death of my mother were two sides of the same Black Forest campaign.
00:13:49The demon hunters ambushed the council's caravan.
00:13:51My mother died in the fighting.
00:13:53The council retaliated and killed every demon hunter there.
00:13:56There were no good guys.
00:13:58Only blood doubts.
00:14:00So you married me.
00:14:01For what?
00:14:02Atonements?
00:14:03Surveillance?
00:14:05Or were you going to sacrifice me first once you became king?
00:14:08I married you because...
00:14:11When you walked through that door at the card table...
00:14:13It was the first time in 300 years I felt like I was looking at a living person.
00:14:18Not a vampire.
00:14:20Not prey.
00:14:22Alive.
00:14:23You have warmth.
00:14:26You have fear.
00:14:28You have the instinct to put your brother behind you.
00:14:31I haven't seen that in 300 years.
00:14:33You can hate me.
00:14:34You have every right.
00:14:36But Serafina saw your birthmark.
00:14:39At the next home visit, Victor will test your blood directly with pure silver.
00:14:44Marcel can't help you a second time.
00:14:49He brought a pure silver blood needle.
00:14:51If it touches your blood, it will turn gold.
00:14:53In three seconds the council guards will storm...
00:14:56I'm not hiding.
00:14:58What did you say?
00:15:00Your mother owes my ancestor a life.
00:15:03Marcel told me.
00:15:04Now, it's time to repay it.
00:15:07But not by hiding.
00:15:11Miss Raven, the council has just passed an emergency act.
00:15:14All human concerts must be retested with a pure silver needle.
00:15:19Hold out your hand.
00:15:23You're insane!
00:15:25Last month you drew half an extra vial of my blood without Draken's consent.
00:15:28By council ordinance article 41, assault on a human consort is an offense against House Vane.
00:15:33I have the right to file a grievance.
00:15:35And to strike back.
00:15:37My wife is right.
00:15:38Article 41.
00:15:40Elder Victor, you don't know the council's own rules?
00:15:42Of course.
00:15:44Serafina.
00:15:46Apologize to Miss Raven.
00:15:49What?
00:15:50Apologize.
00:15:51Now.
00:15:52I'm sorry.
00:15:54Now you may draw the blood.
00:15:56But only one drop from the tip of my right finger.
00:16:02By council ordinance article 12, micro sampling standard.
00:16:12You are clever, Miss Blackwood.
00:16:14But you won't get lucky every time.
00:16:16Next time I will bring holy water.
00:16:35You are clever, Miss Blackwood.
00:16:48Who hurt you?
00:16:52I told you not to come near. Never mind. You're already here.
00:16:57Who hurt you? Was it Victor?
00:17:01Council rules. After every home visit, the head of House Vane must receive one lash of the silver whip to
00:17:09prove he can control his consort.
00:17:12It is the council's way of keeping the pure blood air in check.
00:17:19You go through this every time. Every time they come, you take a lash.
00:17:23I was seven when my mother was stabbed through the heart with a silver dagger by a demon hunter.
00:17:29I watched from behind a curtain.
00:17:30As she fell, she looked at me and mouthed,
00:17:33Live.
00:17:36Then the council took over House Vane.
00:17:39It took me 300 years to earn my claim to the throne.
00:17:43I won't let one silver whip take it away.
00:17:46Why are you telling me this?
00:17:47Because in this whole castle, you're the only one who isn't a vampire.
00:17:53I'm tired.
00:17:54You can go now.
00:17:58Keep it.
00:18:00Next time Victor brings holy water, you might need it.
00:18:05You didn't finish what you were saying last time.
00:18:08Drerin knows what I am. He's afraid of me, but he also what?
00:18:16He is afraid of what you are.
00:18:19But you are the bravest human he has ever met.
00:18:21That slap you gave Serafina yesterday?
00:18:23Every servant in the castle is talking about it.
00:18:25The people here have been crushed under the council for 300 years.
00:18:30You're the first person to walk in and fight back.
00:18:32Marcel, I need to know Victor's weakness.
00:18:34I studied the council rules all afternoon yesterday,
00:18:37but none of them say how to defeat a 600 year old vampire.
00:18:43Victor fears two things.
00:18:45First, the ancient blood oath.
00:18:48If two pure blood heirs jointly submit a motion of no confidence
00:18:52against the Grand Elder Knight of the Blood Moon,
00:18:54he must accept a challenge.
00:19:01And the second?
00:19:03Holy ash burned by demon hunter silver fire.
00:19:06300 years ago in the Black Forest campaign,
00:19:09the demon hunters used holy ash to stop Victor from drawing power.
00:19:13That batch of ash was sealed inside.
00:19:17Marcel, the council sent me early for the second home visit.
00:19:20Elder Victor says he's found something very interesting
00:19:23about the last survivor of the Blackwood family.
00:19:26In 1787, a demon hunter baby girl was sent to St. Mary's Convent in New Orleans.
00:19:32Records say she has a star-shaped birth knife on the palm of her right hand.
00:19:38Her name was Alara Blackwood.
00:19:41In 1942, Alara's granddaughter opened a bar in the French Quarter.
00:19:45Guess, that was your grandmother, wasn't it?
00:19:48What's your point?
00:19:49I know your blood turns dark red because you have a resistance to silver.
00:19:53Demon hunter blood doesn't turn gold on silver.
00:19:56That's the neutralization reaction after your skin touches silver powder.
00:20:00Victor has already figured it out.
00:20:02Next time he won't bring a silver needle, he'll bring holy water.
00:20:07Holy water burns a cross into demon hunter skin.
00:20:10Your silver powder won't save you.
00:20:13But I don't want to tell Victor.
00:20:16Because I have a better deal.
00:20:18You help me do one thing, and I'll keep your secret for at least another year.
00:20:22What thing?
00:20:24Take me to Draen's mother's tower.
00:20:26He's had that door sealed for 300 years.
00:20:29No one from the council, not even my father,
00:20:33has ever been inside.
00:20:36I want to know what he's hiding.
00:20:39What if I refuse?
00:20:45Then next week, when Victor brings the holy water,
00:20:48we'll all pick out a nice urn for you.
00:20:57It's from your ancestor's Brotherhip.
00:20:59We know she is in your hands.
00:21:01If you don't not release her before the Neck Blood Moon,
00:21:04the Brotherhood will launch Operation Silver Rain.
00:21:07What is Operation Silver Rain?
00:21:10The Brotherhood's strongest weapon.
00:21:11They and the council have been at peace for 300 years.
00:21:15Now because of you,
00:21:17the last Blackwood bloodline in vampire hands,
00:21:20they are ready to start a war again.
00:21:22You could let me go, void the covenant,
00:21:24and the war never happens.
00:21:26Voiding the covenant requires you to agree to dissolve the marriage
00:21:29and renounce all spousal rights.
00:21:31But if you are taken by the Brotherhood,
00:21:33Victor will claim I deliberately planted a demon hunter spy.
00:21:36He will use it as an excuse to strip me of my claim,
00:21:39then launch a full-scale war against the Brotherhood.
00:21:42Whether you stay or leave,
00:21:44people will die.
00:21:48What are you going to do?
00:21:50I will write back to the Brotherhood.
00:21:51Tell them you are here of your own free will,
00:21:54with your signed marriage covenant as proof.
00:21:57If they are your people,
00:21:58they will at least stop long enough to hear you speak.
00:22:00You are letting me speak to them directly?
00:22:03You are not a prisoner.
00:22:05You are my...
00:22:06wife in name.
00:22:08If you can convince the Brotherhood not to launch Silver Rain,
00:22:11Victor will have no excuse to use your identity against you.
00:22:14But you must promise me one thing.
00:22:16What?
00:22:17Do not tell the Brotherhood about the star birthmark on your right hand.
00:22:20Once they confirm you are the true Blackwood heir,
00:22:22they will stop at nothing to take you back,
00:22:24including destroying this castle and everyone in it.
00:22:27Marcel, Chef Enum, old Thomas the Gardener,
00:22:29these vampires are no threat to the council.
00:22:31They are just ordinary people.
00:22:33They will be the first to die in a war.
00:22:35When he says everyone in this castle,
00:22:37does he include himself?
00:22:46Is that her?
00:22:48The human wagered onto the card table?
00:22:51Lord Draven should have married a countess at least.
00:22:53Can't believe he picked a bar girl.
00:22:58A toast to Lady Vayne,
00:23:01passing two blood tests in a week,
00:23:04slapping a council member,
00:23:05and even writing letters to the Demon Hunter Brotherhood.
00:23:09You are far more fascinating than most pure blood brides.
00:23:13Victor, your intelligence network grows wider by the day,
00:23:16to think you can even intercept my private correspondentings.
00:23:21I merely care for the stability of council assets.
00:23:24Speaking of stability,
00:23:26Serafina tells me your little wife
00:23:28has taken quite an interest in the tower lately.
00:23:31Don't worry, I won't report her for violating the restricted area.
00:23:34On the contrary, I want to help her enter.
00:23:36Do you know why?
00:23:37Because if she truly carries the Blackwood bloodline,
00:23:39the items inside the tower will react to her.
00:23:41The seal, close to 300 years ago,
00:23:44only Blackwood blood can break it.
00:23:46You are using her!
00:23:49Before her death, your mother...
00:23:51Before her death, your mother hid an item in the tower tower.
00:23:53Something that can prove the truth of the Battle of the Black Forest back then.
00:23:57Lady Vann was murdered by the council's own people.
00:24:00You want to know the truth, but you lack the courage to open that door.
00:24:05You need her.
00:24:06I have spent my entire life hitting demon hunters.
00:24:15If what Victor said is true,
00:24:17that my mother's death had nothing to do with demon hunters
00:24:20and everything to do with the council,
00:24:23then I have spent my life hating the wrong people.
00:24:27Have you ever considered that what you fear isn't hating the wrong person?
00:24:30What you actually fear is,
00:24:33you've been beaten by the council's whip for 300 years
00:24:36and you're too terrified to resist.
00:24:38This seal was placed by my mother right before she died.
00:24:41She said only the vain bloodline could open it.
00:24:44But with one additional condition,
00:24:46it requires the simultaneous touch of someone possessing a pure human heart.
00:24:50Back then I didn't understand what a pure human heart meant.
00:24:53Now I do.
00:24:55She wasn't talking about human in a biological sense.
00:24:59She meant someone willing to take a blade for another.
00:25:02I need your hand.
00:25:03Not as a vampire, not as a contract bound party.
00:25:07As yourself.
00:25:09Are you willing?
00:25:10Open it.
00:25:13This is...
00:25:14Avoid memory.
00:25:16Before dying, a vampire can seal their final memory inside Crystal.
00:25:20Only the blood of a direct descendant can activate it.
00:25:27Lady Vayne, you interfered with the council's hunting bans on humans,
00:25:30which violates the core interests of our existence.
00:25:33You will be killed by a silver dagger.
00:25:35To the world we will declare that demon hunters are the culprits.
00:25:41Draven.
00:25:43Cultivating 300 years of hatred for the killer of my mother,
00:25:46as it turns out the man my dagger should pierce his,
00:25:49comes to my home month after month, year after year,
00:25:51drinking my wine with a smile, lashing me with his whip.
00:25:54Raven.
00:25:55I am going to kill Victor.
00:25:57But not with your ancestor's silver knife.
00:26:00I will use this very tower of my mother's.
00:26:03I want to resurrect this memory in front of every member of the council.
00:26:07Are you willing to help me?
00:26:11Resurrecting the memory requires two things.
00:26:14First, the gaze of the entire council.
00:26:17It must be activated during the council assembly on the night of the Blood Moon.
00:26:21Second, it needs the sacred ash burned by the silver fire of the Blackwood lineage.
00:26:26There have been no demon hunters for 300 years.
00:26:28The last trace of sacred ash in this world resides inside you.
00:26:32Inside me?
00:26:34During the Battle of the Black Forest, your Ansters used sacred ash weapons.
00:26:38But sacred ash is not a consumable item.
00:26:40It anchors to the lineage of the demon hunter who last wielded it.
00:26:44Passed down from generation to generation.
00:26:46That is why your blood neutralizes silver.
00:26:49And why Marcel said your blood takes longer to turn red.
00:26:51A slumbering demon hunter soul dwells within your blood.
00:26:55How do I wake it up?
00:26:59The method to wake it is to have a pure blood vampire bite your neck.
00:27:02Not to drain you.
00:27:04It is to inject a single drop of a pure blood vampire's heart blood right into your Corodian artery.
00:27:10That single drop of blood will awaken every demon hunter memory and capability within you.
00:27:15But the risk is, you are highly likely to die during the awakening process.
00:27:19Demon hunter blood and vampire blood have always wins been mortal enemies.
00:27:24The probability of rejection during the picturation exceeds 70%.
00:27:28My grandmother said people from the Blackwood family, Arlie, are hard to kill.
00:27:33Let's do it.
00:27:35No. I cannot gamble with your life. There must be another way.
00:27:39Listen to me.
00:27:40Serafana will bring Victor and Holy Water next week.
00:27:43The Breherdhood Silver Rain is also on a countdown.
00:27:45How much time do you think I have left?
00:27:47Instead of being captured by them to become a specimen, I'd rather choose how I die.
00:27:51Or how I live.
00:27:54If you survive, I will personally burn this one-year contract.
00:27:58You are not my tool. You never were.
00:28:29One day my son meets your descendant.
00:28:31Let him view the tower.
00:28:34Tell him I never hated the Blackwoods.
00:28:37What did you see?
00:28:38Your mother.
00:28:39In 1942, she visited my grandfather's bar.
00:28:42She left a silver ring.
00:28:43That ring was later passed down to my grandmother and my grandmother gave it to me.
00:28:48I pawned it.
00:28:49The pawn money went to pay Leo's rent.
00:28:52Pawned to whom?
00:28:54Bourbon Street in the French Quarter.
00:28:56Jinx Pawn Shop.
00:28:58The owner is named Remy.
00:29:02Marcel!
00:29:04Send men to Jinx Pawn Shop on Bourbon Street immediately.
00:29:07Find a silver ring as engraved the Vamily Thorns and Moon.
00:29:13Redeem it back at all costs.
00:29:15Right away.
00:29:21Do I count as your kind now?
00:29:25You are stronger than us.
00:29:26You possess both the demon hunter's sacred ash and the heart blood of a pure-blood vampire simultaneously.
00:29:32No one has achieved this in 300 years.
00:29:35You belong to no single clan.
00:29:37You are unique.
00:29:39Your mother said in the memory, she never hated the Blackwoods.
00:29:43Do you believe her?
00:29:48I believe what you saw.
00:29:49From this day forward, every word you utter, I believe.
00:29:53Tomorrow, I'll take you to Bourbon Street.
00:29:55We'll retrieve my mother's silver ring.
00:29:58And then, we go meet the Brotherhood.
00:30:07When was the last time you came to the French Quarter?
00:30:111928.
00:30:12Back then, it was still called Rue Bourbon.
00:30:14No neon.
00:30:16Just gas lamps.
00:30:20You'd be terrified of vending machines.
00:30:35Squints!
00:30:36Little Raven!
00:30:37Haven't seen you in ages.
00:30:39That silver ring you pawned last time, I still...
00:30:42Good evening.
00:30:43I have come to redeem a silver ring.
00:30:45My wife pawned it here about six weeks ago.
00:30:48You...
00:30:49You're from House Vane?
00:30:53This should cover it.
00:30:54I need that ring, old man.
00:30:56It means a great deal to me.
00:31:00The ring's still here.
00:31:02But I should tell you first,
00:31:04a red-haired woman came asking about it last week.
00:31:08Red hair.
00:31:10Serafina.
00:31:14You see,
00:31:16she carved it there.
00:31:19Not so I would find it one day.
00:31:21Just because she wanted to say it.
00:31:24And no one was listening.
00:31:27I'm listening now.
00:31:28And so are you.
00:31:32That red-haired woman told me to call her
00:31:35if anyone came to redeem this ring.
00:31:37She is already outside.
00:31:53Lord Vane,
00:31:55you brought your little human to redeem a ring?
00:31:57That ring is Lady Vane's legacy.
00:31:59It belongs to House Vane,
00:32:01not the finger of some inferior.
00:32:05Serafina,
00:32:06in what capacity are you stopping me?
00:32:08Council member?
00:32:10Or a woman scorned for 300 years?
00:32:14300 years!
00:32:15I have stood at your side for 300 years!
00:32:18I backed you when the council voted on the air!
00:32:20I brought you medicine when you took the whip
00:32:23and you chose a bar girl with a gambling debt!
00:32:26You chose a demon hunter!
00:32:28She is not a demon hunter.
00:32:30She is my wife.
00:32:33You actually love her?
00:32:35Draven Vane,
00:32:36last heir of House Vane,
00:32:38in love with a human?
00:32:40Victor will laugh so hard
00:32:41he sprays blood wine on the ceiling.
00:32:54Your eyes.
00:32:56You've been bitten.
00:32:57You carry his blood inside you.
00:32:58What are you?
00:33:06I am Blackwood.
00:33:08My grandmother was serving drinks in this city
00:33:10when you were still hiding in graveyards
00:33:11drinking rat blood.
00:33:12Go tell Victor.
00:33:13On the night of the blood moon,
00:33:15we will see him at the council assembly.
00:33:19Victor has holy water cannons.
00:33:21Even if you bring the truth,
00:33:22you won't live long enough to speak it.
00:33:26I know that face.
00:33:31You look like Alara.
00:33:33You are her descendant.
00:33:34My name is Raven Blackwood.
00:33:36This man beside me,
00:33:37Draven Vane,
00:33:38eldest son of House Vane.
00:33:39We came to talk,
00:33:40not fight.
00:33:41You've got nerve.
00:33:43Walking alone into demon hunter territory
00:33:45with a girl.
00:33:47And she carries your blood.
00:33:50I can smell it.
00:33:51You bit her.
00:33:54I gave her one drop of my heart's blood
00:33:56to help her awaken.
00:33:58It was my choice
00:33:59and hers.
00:34:01I didn't come here to die.
00:34:04I came to show you the truth.
00:34:13Tonight, demon hunters will pass through this forest.
00:34:17Publicly,
00:34:17we will say they did it.
00:34:20300 years.
00:34:22This can't be.
00:34:23The council always said
00:34:24Lady Vane was killed by demon hunters.
00:34:27They lied to everyone.
00:34:28To the vampires,
00:34:29they said demon hunters killed my mother.
00:34:31To the demon hunters,
00:34:32they let you believe
00:34:33one of your own did it.
00:34:35300 years of hatred
00:34:36designed by one man.
00:34:38God damn it!
00:34:40How many of us died for revenge?
00:34:44I've waited 50 years for this hand.
00:34:46I was friends with your grandmother.
00:34:48I was there the night Lady Vane
00:34:50came to the bar in 1942
00:34:51and left the ring.
00:34:53Your grandmother knew
00:34:54who that woman in black was.
00:34:56She always knew.
00:34:57Grandma knew?
00:34:58She never said.
00:34:59Because she didn't want you
00:35:00to carry the fate of a demon hunter.
00:35:03She wanted you to have
00:35:04an ordinary life.
00:35:06But this boy,
00:35:08he isn't ordinary.
00:35:10And you won't be ordinary anymore.
00:35:12This is the first prototype
00:35:13of the Silver Rain series.
00:35:15Use it to shatter the council altar
00:35:16on the blood moon.
00:35:17When the altar breaks,
00:35:18every ancient seal in it will fail,
00:35:19including the so-called
00:35:20Grand Elder Immunity.
00:35:22Victor's 600-year secret of immortality
00:35:24is tied to that altar's seal.
00:35:30You will stand with vampires.
00:35:33We will stand with a vampire
00:35:34willing to bite his own neck
00:35:35to awaken a demon hunter's descendant.
00:35:38Go.
00:35:38The blood moon is five days away.
00:35:41My child,
00:35:42your grandmother had one more thing
00:35:44she asked me to tell you.
00:35:46Don't be afraid of becoming a monster.
00:35:49The difference between a monster
00:35:51and a hero
00:35:52is who tells the story.
00:36:01Marcel, what happened to your hand?
00:36:03The old man from the pawn shop.
00:36:05Serafina went back for him last night.
00:36:07Pressed him for where the ring went.
00:36:09By the time I arrived,
00:36:10he was gone.
00:36:11I took a minor wound
00:36:12and knocked out one of Serafina's fangth.
00:36:14She's missing a canine
00:36:15so she can't bite anyone for now.
00:36:18What about Remy's family?
00:36:20He had no family.
00:36:22He kept three cats behind the shop.
00:36:24I've arranged for them to be adopted.
00:36:28Thank you for protecting the innocent
00:36:30on my behalf.
00:36:32I owe you.
00:36:36Serafina was attacked last night.
00:36:39She lost a canine tooth.
00:36:41She says your servant,
00:36:42Marcel, did it.
00:36:43By council ordinance,
00:36:45when a vampire attacks a council member,
00:36:47their lord bears joint responsibility.
00:36:49Serafina killed an elderly human first.
00:36:51By the council's first code,
00:36:53under no circumstances
00:36:54shall the clan's existence
00:36:55be exposed to humans,
00:36:56nor shall humans be killed
00:36:57outside of hunting grounds.
00:36:59She violated the highest code.
00:37:02Marcel was stopping her
00:37:03from endangering the clan further.
00:37:09Do you have proof
00:37:10she killed that human?
00:37:11Security footage
00:37:12from Jinx's pawn shop
00:37:13shall I project it
00:37:14on the wall of the hall?
00:37:16It seems your little wife
00:37:17has taught you many things.
00:37:18Very well.
00:37:19Let us discuss today's business,
00:37:20the third home visit.
00:37:21The council has confirmed
00:37:23Miss Raven's identity.
00:37:24She is from the extinct
00:37:25demon hunter clan, Blackwood.
00:37:26By council ordinance,
00:37:27a demon hunter entering vampire territory
00:37:29is considered an act of war.
00:37:30Hold out your hand, Miss Raven.
00:37:32If this single drop falls
00:37:34on the back of your hand
00:37:34and causes no reaction,
00:37:36I will declare you innocent
00:37:37on behalf of the council today.
00:37:38If it burns a cross shape,
00:37:40you will be sentenced
00:37:40to permanent imprisonment
00:37:41for treason.
00:37:42Broodmore dungeon.
00:37:44No one ever comes out alive.
00:37:48Do it.
00:37:53Impossible.
00:37:55Demon hunter descendants
00:37:56have an immediate
00:37:57and irreversible reaction
00:37:58to holy water unless...
00:38:02Dreven bit her.
00:38:03He gave her his purest blood.
00:38:06You have created a hybrid.
00:38:08You, a hybrid,
00:38:10is not under council jurisdiction.
00:38:12Bound by no vampire law,
00:38:14she can do anything,
00:38:16including challenge the council.
00:38:18Do you have any idea
00:38:19what you have created?
00:38:27Are you all right, Miss Blackwood?
00:38:29He called me a hybrid.
00:38:30The look on Victor's face.
00:38:31He's afraid of me.
00:38:33A 600-year-old vampire
00:38:35is afraid of me.
00:38:36What does that mean?
00:38:39It means he hit a clause
00:38:40in the code we haven't found.
00:38:41A clause about hybrids.
00:38:43Marcel, bring the entire council code.
00:38:46Found it.
00:38:47Secret Appendic Volume 7,
00:38:49Chapter 19, Article 242.
00:38:52Signed by the council founders.
00:38:53A clause that only activates
00:38:55when a hybrid's existence confirmed.
00:38:57A hybrid.
00:38:57A being bearing both
00:38:59pure blood vampire heart's blood
00:39:00and demon hunter holy ash
00:39:01shall hold the following
00:39:02indelible rights.
00:39:03First, immunity from all council
00:39:05is jurisdiction.
00:39:06Second,
00:39:07the right to challenge
00:39:08the Grand Elder
00:39:08on the night of the blood moon
00:39:09with the victor
00:39:10gaining command of the council.
00:39:11Third,
00:39:12third what?
00:39:14Third,
00:39:15the challenge verdict
00:39:16shall not be decided
00:39:17unilaterally by the Grand Elder.
00:39:19It must be voted on
00:39:21by all council members present.
00:39:23If the hybrid proves
00:39:24the Grand Elder
00:39:25guilty of treason
00:39:26during the challenge,
00:39:27confirmed by at least
00:39:28one of the three
00:39:29great pure blood clans,
00:39:31the Grand Elder
00:39:32shall automatically lose immunity
00:39:33and face the silver whip punishment.
00:39:36The silver whip.
00:39:39The same whip
00:39:40you take every time.
00:39:42For six hundred years
00:39:43he's used it on you
00:39:44and now the law says
00:39:46he can be struck
00:39:46with the same whip.
00:39:49Raven,
00:39:50do you want to back out?
00:39:51You can back out right now.
00:39:53I'll send you back to New Orleans.
00:39:55Tell the Brotherhood you're alive.
00:39:56You can live an ordinary life.
00:39:58I can burn the one year
00:39:59keeping it unilaterally.
00:40:00No council approval needed.
00:40:01Victor drove a silver dagger
00:40:03through your mother's heart.
00:40:05My ancestors were framed
00:40:07as murderers by the council
00:40:08for three hundred years
00:40:09and the price was annihilation.
00:40:11Serafina killed innocent old Remy
00:40:14just because he wouldn't betray me.
00:40:16Do you think I can go back
00:40:17to being a bar girl
00:40:18in the French Quarter?
00:40:19That world has nothing
00:40:20to do with me anymore.
00:40:22If you lose on the night
00:40:23of the blood moon
00:40:23I will kill Victor
00:40:24before you fall.
00:40:25Whether I die by the silver whip
00:40:27or am exiled by the council
00:40:28I will send him to hell first.
00:40:30This is my vow.
00:40:32A vampire's vow is unbreakable.
00:40:34Is this how all vampires propose?
00:40:36So intense?
00:40:43Lord Vane
00:40:44Leo has been taken.
00:40:46Victor's men kidnapped
00:40:47your brother-in-law
00:40:48at the bus station.
00:40:50The underwater entrance
00:40:52has three layers of guards.
00:40:53First layer
00:40:54low-ranking bloodthrots.
00:40:56Second layer
00:40:56council personal guards.
00:40:58Third layer
00:40:58Image 5's private elite guard.
00:41:00We need to reach the third layer
00:41:02without alerting the first two.
00:41:03Underwater.
00:41:04Can you breathe underwater?
00:41:06Vampires can hold their breath
00:41:07for two hours.
00:41:09You cannot.
00:41:12I don't need to go down.
00:41:13I'll draw their attention
00:41:14on the shore.
00:41:15You rescue Leo.
00:41:16Draw their attention.
00:41:17You alone
00:41:18against low-ranking throps.
00:41:21Have you forgotten
00:41:22what I am now?
00:41:23I'm the only being
00:41:24exempt from your council code.
00:41:26Bloodthrows
00:41:26have an instinctive fear
00:41:28of hybrids.
00:41:29An old vampire
00:41:30told me that.
00:41:31Guess who?
00:41:32Don't move.
00:41:34My name is Blackwood.
00:41:36Legal spouse of Vane.
00:41:37Under secret appendix
00:41:38volume 7
00:41:39article 242.
00:41:41I am not under
00:41:42council jurisdiction.
00:41:43To raise a hand
00:41:44against me
00:41:45is treason.
00:41:46Elder Victor said
00:41:48a hybrid
00:41:48is a loophole
00:41:49in the code.
00:41:50Loopholes get sealed.
00:41:58I'm leaving.
00:42:12You...
00:42:12You came for me?
00:42:14You're a vampire?
00:42:17I'm your brother-in-law.
00:42:18Get up.
00:42:19Let's go.
00:42:21Don't think this means
00:42:23I forgive you
00:42:23for betting my sister
00:42:24at the card table.
00:42:25I don't need
00:42:26your forgiveness.
00:42:27I need you alive.
00:42:29If you're alive,
00:42:31your sister will have
00:42:31the strength
00:42:32to kill Victor
00:42:33at the council tomorrow.
00:42:34My sister is going
00:42:35to kill who?
00:42:41Tomorrow night
00:42:42on the blood moon,
00:42:44Raven will challenge
00:42:45you at the council.
00:42:46Tonight
00:42:47is the dress rehearsal.
00:43:16Come in.
00:43:20You can't sleep?
00:43:22I'm thinking
00:43:22about tomorrow.
00:43:24If Victor
00:43:25has holy water cannons,
00:43:26the silver rifle
00:43:27the Brotherhood gave me
00:43:28might not break
00:43:28through his defenses.
00:43:29I need a more
00:43:30direct attack.
00:43:31Close range.
00:43:32At close range,
00:43:33you'll enter
00:43:34his mind control range.
00:43:35Victor's 600-year
00:43:36core ability
00:43:37isn't strength.
00:43:38It's hypnosis.
00:43:40He can make you
00:43:41see your worst fear
00:43:41in a second.
00:43:42I was hypnotized
00:43:43by him for three minutes
00:43:44when I was seven.
00:43:45I still remember
00:43:46every second.
00:43:47What did you see?
00:43:49My mother's body.
00:43:50Stabbed over and over
00:43:51with a silver dagger.
00:43:53Victor standing
00:43:53beside her clapping.
00:43:55Three minutes
00:43:56felt like three years.
00:43:57So it's not the challenge
00:43:59you're afraid of?
00:44:00It's him using hypnosis
00:44:01on you again?
00:44:02I'm afraid
00:44:03he'll use it on you.
00:44:04Your awakening
00:44:04is only partial.
00:44:05The holy ash inside you
00:44:06hasn't fully fused.
00:44:07If he stabs your heart
00:44:08while you're hypnotized,
00:44:09the heart blood
00:44:10will disperse.
00:44:11You'll lose
00:44:12your hybrid immunity
00:44:12and go back to being
00:44:13an ordinary demon hunter
00:44:14descendant hiding
00:44:14behind silver powder.
00:44:16He'll torture you slowly.
00:44:22Listen to me.
00:44:23When I was little,
00:44:24Grandma told me a story.
00:44:26A demon hunter's
00:44:28greatest weapon
00:44:28isn't silver
00:44:29or holy water.
00:44:31It's this.
00:44:32A demon hunter's heart.
00:44:34It remembers the face
00:44:35of everyone they've saved.
00:44:37Your mother saved
00:44:38my ancestor's life.
00:44:39Marcel saved me.
00:44:40Your heart's blood
00:44:41runs in my veins.
00:44:42You think I'm facing
00:44:43Victor alone?
00:44:44But I carry four lives
00:44:45with me.
00:44:46I can't lose.
00:44:53When the blood moon
00:44:54rises tomorrow,
00:44:55I will stand behind you.
00:44:57Win or lose,
00:44:58this is my vow.
00:45:05Council code secret appendix
00:45:07volume 7,
00:45:08article 242.
00:45:11Raven Blackwood,
00:45:12do you hereby challenge
00:45:14the Grand Elder
00:45:14in your capacity
00:45:15as a hybrid?
00:45:17I do.
00:45:20She really was bitten.
00:45:22Lord Vane gave her
00:45:23his heart's blood.
00:45:24Then if she dies,
00:45:25Drehan suffers too.
00:45:26Once heart blood
00:45:27leaves the body,
00:45:28the Biter and the Bitten
00:45:29share life and death.
00:45:30Challenge rules.
00:45:32Both parties
00:45:33may use any weapon.
00:45:34The first to lose
00:45:35consciousness
00:45:36or surrender
00:45:37loses.
00:45:39Begin.
00:45:43Begin.
00:45:45Begin.
00:45:46Begin.
00:45:46Begin.
00:45:47Begin.
00:45:48Begin.
00:45:58Holy water doesn't work
00:45:59on you.
00:46:01Just because it doesn't
00:46:02work on Draelin's hybrid
00:46:03doesn't mean it can't
00:46:04break the heart blood
00:46:05inside you.
00:46:06Scatter that drop
00:46:07and you are nothing.
00:46:24You believe being a hybrid
00:46:26was an advantage?
00:46:27Being a hybrid
00:46:28is a contradiction.
00:46:29The core natures
00:46:30of a demon hunter
00:46:31and a vampire
00:46:32wage war inside you
00:46:34every single second.
00:46:35Your very existence
00:46:36is a battlefield.
00:46:37Now,
00:46:39this holy water
00:46:40will escalate
00:46:41your internal war
00:46:42to its absolute climax
00:46:44until your heart
00:46:45burns to ash.
00:46:57You claim
00:46:58my very existence
00:47:00is a war?
00:47:08You got one thing
00:47:09completely wrong
00:47:10Tupian 2.
00:47:11Demon hunters
00:47:11and vampires
00:47:12are indeed mortal enemies
00:47:13but they share
00:47:14one common foe
00:47:15the oppressor.
00:47:16Three hundred years ago
00:47:17you used a single
00:47:18silver dagger
00:47:19to trigger a war
00:47:20between two races.
00:47:21You slaughtered
00:47:21Lady Vane
00:47:22and framed the Black Hoods.
00:47:23You forced the demon hunters
00:47:25to bleed for three centuries
00:47:26and kept the vampires
00:47:27living under the strike
00:47:28of your silver whip.
00:47:29You are their common enemy.
00:47:31The war inside my body
00:47:33has concluded
00:47:34because they found
00:47:35their shaman target
00:47:37you.
00:47:38In the name of the demon hunter lineage
00:47:41and the heart blood
00:47:43of the Vane family
00:47:46you stand judged.
00:47:53Nocturne!
00:47:54Are you just going to watch?
00:47:56The Codex dictates
00:47:58if a challenger employs
00:48:00external forces
00:48:00during a challenge
00:48:01the entire council membership
00:48:03has the authority
00:48:04to intervene!
00:48:05I observe no external force
00:48:07but I see is a hybrid
00:48:09utilizing her own
00:48:10bloodline power to best you.
00:48:12The Codex contains no ban
00:48:14against a hybrid
00:48:15wielding hybrid capabilities.
00:48:16You signed Appendix
00:48:18Volume 7 yourself.
00:48:21Three hundred years ago
00:48:22Victor Sangrin
00:48:22used a silver dagger
00:48:23to murder the previous
00:48:24matriarch of the Vane family
00:48:26my mother
00:48:26Alara Vane
00:48:27and framed the Blackwood
00:48:29demon hunter family
00:48:29for the crime.
00:48:30The void memory
00:48:31rests here.
00:48:32Members of the council
00:48:33verify it for yourselves.
00:48:42The Nocturne family confirms
00:48:44Grand Elder Victor Sangrin
00:48:45has committed clan treason.
00:48:47Activate Appendix Volume 7
00:48:49Clause 242.
00:48:50The Grand Elder's immunity
00:48:51forfeits immediately.
00:48:57You think
00:48:58you honestly think
00:49:00this is over?
00:49:01Do you know why
00:49:02the council's altar
00:49:03turns dark red
00:49:04under tonight's moon?
00:49:05Because the blood moon
00:49:06isn't the day
00:49:07vampires are strongest.
00:49:08It is the day
00:49:09the ancient vampire
00:49:10sleepers awake!
00:49:11I didn't abduct Leo
00:49:12to force you to surrender.
00:49:13I did it to claim his blood.
00:49:14Spilling the blood
00:49:15of a demon hunter
00:49:16descendant upon the altar
00:49:17awakens the sleeper
00:49:18but you interrupted me.
00:49:20Now the altar
00:49:21hasn't fully awakened
00:49:22you fool!
00:49:25Marcel,
00:49:26the absolute final page
00:49:27of Codex Volume 7.
00:49:28Hurry!
00:49:29When the blood
00:49:30of a hybrid
00:49:31is spilled
00:49:31upon the council altar
00:49:32the ancient sleeper
00:49:34shall awaken.
00:49:35Its power is sufficient
00:49:36to consume
00:49:36the entire Mississippi River Basin
00:49:38within seven days.
00:49:56Everyone fall back!
00:49:57Get away from the altar!
00:50:07Ancestors above.
00:50:09This is a dormant form
00:50:10of the dark vampire race.
00:50:12He is missing two fingers.
00:50:14Someone severed
00:50:15the index finger and thumb
00:50:16of his right hand
00:50:17while he slumbered.
00:50:18Those were his
00:50:19offensive capabilities.
00:50:20Who cut them off?
00:50:21The sleeper woke once.
00:50:23Less than six hours
00:50:24after waking
00:50:25he was resealed
00:50:26by three individuals.
00:50:27A pure blood vampire,
00:50:28a demon hunter,
00:50:29and a...
00:50:34The Sacrificer
00:50:35whose blood woke me
00:50:37from my slumber.
00:50:40Lord Sleeper!
00:50:42The blood belongs
00:50:43to the Blackwood
00:50:44and Vane hybrid.
00:50:45Raven's blood!
00:50:46The sacrifice I promised you
00:50:48three hundred years ago
00:50:49has finally arrived!
00:50:51Please annihilate
00:50:51this rebellious council!
00:50:53Restore the throne
00:50:54to the Sanguine family!
00:50:56Inferior organism
00:50:57unworthy of negotiating
00:50:59with the dark vampire race.
00:51:17Your blood carries her scent.
00:51:20The demon hunter
00:51:21who sealed me
00:51:22three hundred years ago
00:51:23was Alara Blackwood.
00:51:25You are her descendant.
00:51:27I waited three centuries
00:51:29for your birth.
00:51:30Now,
00:51:31you belong to me.
00:51:50pure blood of the Vane family.
00:51:52Your mother,
00:51:53Alara Vane.
00:51:54She stood here
00:51:54three hundred years ago
00:51:55as well.
00:51:56She's the pure blood vampire's
00:51:57life oath curse
00:51:58to seal my left hand.
00:51:59The moment her mother
00:52:00perished,
00:52:01the seal on my left hand
00:52:02shattered.
00:52:03Now,
00:52:04you are merely her echo.
00:52:12The sacred ash slumbered
00:52:15for three hundred years
00:52:16during the battle
00:52:17of the Black Forest
00:52:18and awakens within you
00:52:20today.
00:52:21It awakens within
00:52:22your system
00:52:23for those who hunt
00:52:24in the dark.
00:52:31The first prototype
00:52:32of the Silver Rain series.
00:52:34Your kind barely managed
00:52:35to seal me
00:52:36three hundred years ago
00:52:37using the second prototype.
00:52:39Prototype one,
00:52:40Amir Tori.
00:52:53Sis,
00:52:55you told me not to come back
00:52:56last time,
00:52:56but I spent all night
00:52:57thinking.
00:52:58You fought my battles
00:52:58for me since we were kids.
00:53:00This time,
00:53:00it's my turn.
00:53:01Leo,
00:53:01don't move.
00:53:02Don't speak.
00:53:03Listen to me.
00:53:03Grandmother taught me
00:53:04one more secret code.
00:53:05Not for you.
00:53:05It was for me.
00:53:06She said if one day
00:53:06you run into something
00:53:07you cannot defeat,
00:53:07tell me to give this to you.
00:53:08Grandmother said
00:53:09this was the very first
00:53:10piece of silver
00:53:11you forged with your own hands
00:53:12using her melting furnace
00:53:13when you were five.
00:53:14She secretly hid it away.
00:53:15She noted
00:53:15the first time you woke silver
00:53:17you poured your secret
00:53:17ash into it.
00:53:18I didn't realize
00:53:19that this is the single item
00:53:20in the entire world
00:53:21personally forged
00:53:22by your secret ash.
00:53:26At five,
00:53:27I knew nothing of ashes
00:53:28blessed on Ash Wednesday.
00:53:29All I remembered
00:53:30was Grandma's song.
00:53:31Press this wisp
00:53:32of glowing light
00:53:33into silver.
00:53:33That little moon
00:53:34has lain touched
00:53:35at the bottom
00:53:35of her sewing box
00:53:36having to move.
00:53:37What light is this?
00:53:38This is not holy ash.
00:53:40This is silver soul.
00:53:42Marcel,
00:53:43does volume seven
00:53:44of the code
00:53:44say what silver soul is?
00:53:46Silver soul,
00:53:47the highest concentration
00:53:48form of holy ash
00:53:49in a demon hunter's bloodline.
00:53:50It can permanently
00:53:51seal ancient dark creatures.
00:53:53When infused
00:53:53into silver and ignited,
00:53:55its light inflicts
00:53:56absolute blindness
00:53:57on the dark blood.
00:53:58But the cost is...
00:53:59What is the cost?
00:54:01Expending silver soul
00:54:02shortens a demon hunter's
00:54:04lifespan,
00:54:04not instant death.
00:54:05But her time
00:54:06will be less
00:54:07than a normal human's.
00:54:08How much less,
00:54:10no one knows for certain.
00:54:15You burn the silver soul,
00:54:17your lifespan.
00:54:18You will live
00:54:19twenty years
00:54:20less than a normal human.
00:54:21No, thirty.
00:54:22Are you mad
00:54:23for a world
00:54:24that has nothing
00:54:25to do with you?
00:54:26This isn't for the world.
00:54:28You hurt my brother.
00:54:29You killed my husband's enemy
00:54:31in my wedding church.
00:54:33You stole my line
00:54:34and called yourself
00:54:35Dark Blood.
00:54:36Let me tell you,
00:54:37at my grandmother's bar,
00:54:39guests like you
00:54:40get thrown
00:54:40straight out the door.
00:54:42The Dark Blood
00:54:43never dies.
00:54:45Ceiling only delays
00:54:46the end.
00:54:57Marcel,
00:54:58how many years
00:54:59did she lose?
00:55:00I don't know.
00:55:01Possibly a great many.
00:55:13Since the council's
00:55:15founding in 1789,
00:55:17Grand Elder
00:55:18Victor Sangrian
00:55:18ruled continuously
00:55:19for 287 years.
00:55:22Code Article 6
00:55:24states a Grand Elder's
00:55:25term may not
00:55:25exceed it 200 years.
00:55:27This was our failure.
00:55:29Today we know
00:55:30he used our complacency
00:55:31to murder Lady Vane.
00:55:32to face the Blackwood Clan
00:55:34in prison of
00:55:35Pure Blood Heir
00:55:36and summon
00:55:37a forbidden dark creature.
00:55:41It's the head
00:55:42of Nocturnum,
00:55:43don't you?
00:55:43In the name of
00:55:44acting head of
00:55:45House Nocturne,
00:55:46I propose the
00:55:47dissolution of
00:55:47the old council system.
00:55:49The new council
00:55:50shall be composed
00:55:51jointly by
00:55:51Pure Blood Clan
00:55:52representatives
00:55:53and a hybrid
00:55:54representative.
00:55:55First proposal,
00:55:56Dre and Vane
00:55:57shall take office
00:55:58as the new
00:55:58Grand Elder.
00:56:00I refuse.
00:56:03My mother wore chains
00:56:05for 300 years,
00:56:07pretending to have been
00:56:08killed by demon hunters
00:56:09just so I could survive.
00:56:11I will not let anyone I love
00:56:13wear any more chains.
00:56:14I will not be Grand Elder.
00:56:17In my capacity
00:56:18as Pure Blood Heir,
00:56:19I nominate the head
00:56:20of Nocturne
00:56:21as the new Grand Elder.
00:56:23He never took part
00:56:24in Victor's crimes,
00:56:25and he was the first
00:56:26to raise his hand
00:56:27to confirm treason tonight.
00:56:30He deserves the position.
00:56:32Darren,
00:56:33you waited 300 years
00:56:33for this?
00:56:34What I waited 300 years
00:56:35for wasn't a chair.
00:56:38I waited for someone
00:56:39to tell me
00:56:39your mother wasn't
00:56:40killed by demon hunters.
00:56:41She looked at you
00:56:42as she died
00:56:42and mouthed the word
00:56:43live.
00:56:44I got that.
00:56:45It's enough.
00:56:46First decree
00:56:46of the new council.
00:56:48Restore the good name
00:56:49of the Blackwood Clan
00:56:49in vampire history.
00:56:51For 300 years,
00:56:52the council used demon hunters
00:56:53to fuel hatred.
00:56:54Today,
00:56:54we formally apologize.
00:56:56If you see any demon hunter
00:56:57descendant on the street,
00:56:58do not raise a hand.
00:56:59Sheath your silver daggers
00:57:00and vow.
00:57:01Second decree.
00:57:03Abolish all silver whip
00:57:05punishments
00:57:05for Pure Blood Heirs.
00:57:07Restore Draven Bane's honor.
00:57:09And grant
00:57:10Raven Blackwood,
00:57:11the hybrid.
00:57:12Raven Blackwood,
00:57:14the hybrid,
00:57:14permanent speaking rights
00:57:15in the council.
00:57:16Your vow still stands,
00:57:18right?
00:57:19What vow?
00:57:20Not the one about
00:57:20killing Victor.
00:57:21The one from a year ago.
00:57:23You said you'd burn
00:57:24the aisle yourself.
00:57:27One year.
00:57:29Only six months left.
00:57:31By the original terms,
00:57:32after one full year,
00:57:33the covenant dissolves
00:57:34automatically.
00:57:35You are free.
00:57:36By the original terms,
00:57:38you already paid
00:57:39my brother's debt.
00:57:40Victor is dead.
00:57:41The sleeper is sealed.
00:57:43Your claim to the throne
00:57:43is secure.
00:57:44The contract was already
00:57:45useless a long time ago.
00:57:49I know.
00:57:50But you haven't burned it.
00:57:53Because I've been wondering.
00:57:55If I burn it now,
00:57:56will you leave?
00:57:58Give it to me.
00:58:00Have you ever looked
00:58:10at the back?
00:58:11The back what?
00:58:12My mother's handwriting.
00:58:14This contract was prepared
00:58:15during her lifetime.
00:58:16She prepared a contract,
00:58:17but no one ever used it.
00:58:19Because no one would
00:58:20marry her son.
00:58:20Until you.
00:58:21Burn it.
00:58:22Not because it's useless,
00:58:23because it's already fulfilled.
00:58:24My mother wanted you
00:58:25to find someone
00:58:25who could find light
00:58:26in the dark.
00:58:27You found her.
00:58:31The marriage wager contract
00:58:32is gone.
00:58:33You are 100% free now.
00:58:36You can go anywhere
00:58:37you want.
00:58:39I want to stay here.
00:58:42What did you say?
00:58:43Grandma always said
00:58:43blackhulls only sign
00:58:44one contract in their lifetime,
00:58:46whether it's on parchment
00:58:47or in blood.
00:58:48Do you think what I just said
00:58:48counts as signing a new one?
00:59:18¡Gracias!
00:59:21After I'm gone, take care of yourself.
00:59:24Remember, you are the last of the old hybrid generation.
00:59:29If one day you have a child, that child will be the only person in history to carry both Holy
00:59:34Ash and Pure Blood Heart's blood.
00:59:37Raise them, him or her.
00:59:40Either way, just raise them well.
00:59:44For you, not a gift.
00:59:46For safekeeping, I pack 12 extra silver bullets.
00:59:51If something else crawls out of the ground one day, shoot first, call people later.
00:59:56I will.
00:59:58Your great-great-grandmother's diary.
01:00:00Founded in the convent.
01:00:02It writes about everything between her and Lady Vane.
01:00:06From their first meeting at the convent, to the day before the Black Forest campaign.
01:00:11On the last page she wrote,
01:00:12If I die one day, tell Evie I never hated her.
01:00:14It matches exactly what Lady Vane carved on the ring.
01:00:23Thank you.
01:00:24Thank you for finding this.
01:00:27Go on.
01:00:28Before the sun sets.
01:00:32You aren't the last of the old generation.
01:00:34You're the first of the new.
01:00:36I don't really know what that word means.
01:00:39Something new.
01:00:42Good news and bad news.
01:00:43The good news is the graying has stopped spreading.
01:00:46The bad news is...
01:00:47The grayed part is being absorbed by Leo's own body.
01:00:50Not rejected.
01:00:52Absorbed.
01:00:53If the process completes, his left arm will become a kind of...
01:00:57Become what?
01:00:58Just say it.
01:00:58An organ that can sense the presence of dark creatures.
01:01:00You will be able to feel the fluctuations of any residual dark blood power within a one kilometer radius.
01:01:06It isn't a disability.
01:01:07It's a new sense.
01:01:08The price is your left arm will no longer be able to perform fine motion tasks.
01:01:17Sis, does this count as a superpower?
01:01:19It does.
01:01:20And you earned it.
01:01:22That half second you stepped in front of me, you knew that beam could kill you.
01:01:26And you didn't run.
01:01:27I've been running my whole life.
01:01:29You've always stood in front of me for everything.
01:01:31When mom and dad died, you worked two jobs.
01:01:33When I got expelled, you begged the principal.
01:01:34When I owed a million, you sat down at that card table and bet yourself.
01:01:37I'm done running.
01:01:42I don't blame you for the gambling debt.
01:01:44You know how grandma's bar got started?
01:01:45Her first stake was gambling too.
01:01:47Twenty-one at a table on Bourbon Street won three sailors' yearly wages.
01:01:50She was so proud when she told me.
01:01:52Gambling isn't the sin.
01:01:53Running away is.
01:01:54You're not running anymore.
01:01:55You're a man now.
01:01:56I want to stay at the castle.
01:01:58Not to mooch.
01:02:00Marcel said the castle security system needs an upgrade.
01:02:03I can help him.
01:02:06This left arm that can sense dark creatures is more useful here than anywhere in New Orleans.
01:02:14Put this on.
01:02:16The silver thread will extend the range of your left arm's sense.
01:02:20And the crystal shards will help you distinguish between different dark creature fluctuations.
01:02:23You may move freely throughout the castle.
01:02:26All areas.
01:02:27Except my and Raven's main bedchamber.
01:02:29Private quarters.
01:02:35The bedroom?
01:02:36You too?
01:02:38It's not what you think.
01:02:41And you don't need to.
01:02:44Lord Vane asks both of you to come to the Great Hall as soon as possible.
01:02:48You have a visitor.
01:02:48A very special guest who hasn't been here before.
01:02:54Special?
01:02:56I'll go test my arm on them.
01:03:06Mira.
01:03:10300 years, nephew.
01:03:13Aren't you going to ask me to sit?
01:03:19I spent 300 years in Europe.
01:03:22Paris, Vienna, Prague.
01:03:25A new place every century.
01:03:27The council thought I was dead.
01:03:29I didn't mind them thinking that.
01:03:32Dead Vane family members are safer than living ones.
01:03:37Why didn't you come back?
01:03:38Why didn't you tell me you were alive?
01:03:40Because Victor was looking for anything your mother left behind.
01:03:44If he'd known I was alive, he'd have pried the truth about the tower out of me.
01:03:48I couldn't be close to you and keep you safe.
01:03:51You think Lady Vane only sealed void memories in that tower?
01:03:55The seal itself was a protection.
01:03:57If I, her own sister, couldn't get in, Victor couldn't either.
01:04:01But you came back.
01:04:02Which means the seal doesn't matter anymore.
01:04:06Because you opened it.
01:04:08You opened the tower as a hybrid.
01:04:11No vain, pure blood required to open the door alone.
01:04:14My sister planned for this all along.
01:04:16She wasn't betting on her son.
01:04:19She was betting on you.
01:04:21A Blackwood girl.
01:04:28This is what Evie left for me.
01:04:31She said if one day her son met a Blackwood girl, I was to give her this ring.
01:04:37It isn't called a wedding ring.
01:04:39It's called a wait-for-me ring.
01:04:41A Vane family tradition.
01:04:43Given by an elder to a younger generation.
01:04:46Meaning I'll be waiting in hell for all the great things you do.
01:05:02My mission is done.
01:05:04The ring is delivered.
01:05:06Nephew.
01:05:07You owe me a meal.
01:05:10Three hundred years of IOUs.
01:05:12I'm cashing them in now.
01:05:13Got food?
01:05:14Prepare a banquet.
01:05:15The longest table.
01:05:16Light every candle off.
01:05:18Tonight we feast.
01:05:19For the first time in three hundred years, I'm having dinner with my aunt.
01:05:23Girl, my sister was red on you even stronger than she imagined.
01:05:27She owed your ancestor a life.
01:05:29You gave her son the truth.
01:05:31This house is your house now too.
01:05:37The first formal meeting of the 22nd Vampire Clan Council.
01:05:41First agenda item.
01:05:42The follow-up cleaning of the anti-human and anti-Clan crimes of former Grand Elder Victor Sangren.
01:05:48Prisoners of Victor's faction held in the Broodmoor dungeon.
01:05:5147 in total.
01:05:52Including ordinary vampires posing no threat to the clan.
01:05:55And close confidences who actually committed crimes.
01:06:00I request to speak.
01:06:0247 people.
01:06:02Not 47 files.
01:06:04I suggest reviewing them separately.
01:06:05Not by the charge, but by the person.
01:06:07Those who were coerced by Victor, who never actively harmed anyone.
01:06:09Release them or reduce their penalties.
01:06:10Those whose hands are stained with blood.
01:06:11Handle them according to the original Kodak.
01:06:13Just because Victor was a bad person doesn't mean the people he locked up are all bad.
01:06:16Nor the reverse.
01:06:18The hybrid representative's proposal.
01:06:20Conduct individual reviews for the Broodmoor dungeon rather than bulk sentencing.
01:06:25All in favor.
01:06:26Raise your hands.
01:06:32The proposal passes.
01:06:39I have a personal request, not a council task.
01:06:41It's regarding the dark red crystal sealing the sleeper.
01:06:43The codex says that when a hybrid silver soul seals a dark blood kid, the sealed entity's
01:06:47residual power can be activated under specific conditions.
01:06:49Not resurrection.
01:06:50It's a form of communication.
01:06:51It's equivalent to asking a person locked forever in a cage a single question.
01:06:54What do you want to ask him?
01:06:55300 years ago.
01:06:56My father was the council scribe.
01:06:58He died in the Battle of the Black Forest, accidentally killed by demon hunters.
01:07:00Victor said it was the hunter's atrocity and I always believed it.
01:07:02But yesterday through old archives, I saw the last line they wrote before he died.
01:07:05You want justice for your father, just like I wanted justice for my mother, I understand.
01:07:09But every word the sleeper says is poisonous, even if it's true.
01:07:14Are you sure you want to hear the truth?
01:07:16After hearing it, you might hate a fellow clan member who is still alive.
01:07:20I want to hear it.
01:07:21It has nothing to do with whether Victor was a good person or a bad person.
01:07:24It has to do with a son wanting to know how his father died.
01:07:28All right.
01:07:29Tomorrow, we go to the altar.
01:07:42Sleeper, according to the seal's contract, you may answer one question.
01:07:47One question in exchange for extending your seal by 10 years.
01:07:51I ask, who was the person that killed the Nocturnum family scribe in the Battle of the Black Forest 300
01:07:56years ago?
01:07:58Victor Sanguine.
01:08:00First pierced Allura Vane's heart with a silver dagger.
01:08:04The Nocturnum scribe rushed over to stop him and was pierced through the back of the heart with the same
01:08:10dagger from behind.
01:08:12The judgment was witnessed by my own eyes.
01:08:15That's why he had to silence him.
01:08:18The scribe saw everything.
01:08:20Father rushed over to stop him, not to run away, not to beg for mercy, to stop him.
01:08:25Your father died like a true Nocturnoc.
01:08:27But his cause of death was written by others as a coward's.
01:08:30Victor wrote in his death report.
01:08:32The scribe died at the hands of demon hunters while fleeing, I told you.
01:08:35The truth was poisonous.
01:08:37Now, the dead person you hated has been beaten by you with a silver whip like a dog for 300
01:08:41years,
01:08:41while the living one you revered as a father is your true father's killer.
01:08:46How do you feel now?
01:08:47It hurts a lot, but it's cleaner than not knowing.
01:08:51The false hatred was locked in my heart like a window that could never be opened.
01:08:54Now the window is shattered and the glass has cut my hands bloody, but at least the sunlight came in.
01:08:59As long as there is a sliver of light, I do not regret asking.
01:09:02You are luckier than your father.
01:09:04Your father saw the truth and lived for only six seconds before being stabbed to death.
01:09:07You still have hundreds of years to do something else with this pain.
01:09:10Seal extended by ten years.
01:09:11Accepted.
01:09:12In ten years, wait for me to come find you to cash in the next question, or the next price.
01:09:17I owe your father vindication.
01:09:19Unfortunately, I've already burned all the death sentences.
01:09:21The only way to show my thanks is, from today on,
01:09:24the Nocturnum family will fully support all proposals made by the Blackwood Hybrid in the Council, regardless of content.
01:09:29This is a family debt.
01:09:31Not official business.
01:09:32Accepted.
01:09:33But I have one condition.
01:09:34Rewrite the history of the Battle of the Black Forest.
01:09:37Not the vampire version.
01:09:38Not the demon hunter version.
01:09:39The true version.
01:09:40Remove Victor from the Hall of Victory,
01:09:42and carve Lady Vans and the Nocturnum Scribes' names on it.
01:09:44And my ancestors.
01:09:46Four names.
01:09:46In a row.
01:09:53Sis, did you see today's Council Weekly?
01:09:55The first joint vampire-human cafe opened in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
01:09:59It's called Crossroads.
01:10:00The owner is the former bartender from Grandma's Bar,
01:10:02the bald guy with three earrings in his right ear.
01:10:04He changed careers.
01:10:06Rick?
01:10:06He's gonna get strangled if you put cinnamon powder in a vampire's coffee.
01:10:10Vampires hate cinnamon.
01:10:11It's clearly written on his menu.
01:10:13Human section and vampire section are divided into two counters.
01:10:16In the middle, there's a chair and a telephone.
01:10:18If you're not sure which side you're on,
01:10:19you can sit down and call to ask.
01:10:21Is this the start of that new world of yours?
01:10:23A chair and a phone in the middle?
01:10:25I was lashed with silver whips for this 300 years ago.
01:10:29I'm really jealous of you young people.
01:10:42This one is for you.
01:10:43The Council formally invites you to serve as the first minister of the Department of Hybrid Affairs,
01:10:49a newly established department.
01:10:50You can decline.
01:10:51You are under no obligation to do anything for the Council.
01:10:56What's the salary?
01:10:5880% of the standard for pure blood Council members.
01:11:02The Grand Elder says it's not discrimination.
01:11:04The budget isn't enough.
01:11:0680% is enough, as long as it covers physical therapy.
01:11:10What's the other letter?
01:11:12This one is for me, from someone I don't know.
01:11:16Inside is just one sentence and a key.
01:11:19They are doing well.
01:11:21Thank your man for saving them.
01:11:23They are gone, but the cats won't be.
01:11:26You won't be.
01:11:28And she won't be either.
01:11:30A neighbor.
01:11:45I want to go to the French Quarter for a cup of coffee.
01:11:49I understand vampires hate cinnamon, but it doesn't stop me from sitting across from you.
01:12:09Raven Blackwood.
01:12:10Damn, girl, are you...
01:12:11Wait, who's that behind you?
01:12:12Drevin Vane.
01:12:13Hello.
01:12:14Damn!
01:12:14Vane!
01:12:15The Vane!
01:12:16That's you!
01:12:16One are at the card table!
01:12:17Holy...
01:12:18Relax!
01:12:18He's not here to bite anyone.
01:12:20Two drinks, human latte for me, cinnamon-free tea for him.
01:12:23Best tea you've got.
01:12:24He's over 300 years old.
01:12:26He has expensive taste.
01:12:28This street has changed a lot.
01:12:29Gas lamps in 1928, neon signs in 1965.
01:12:33Now, what do you call it, LED?
01:12:35I never thought I'd sit in a cafe with a demon hunter discussing light bulbs.
01:12:38I never thought I'd have afternoon tea with a vampire who bit my neck.
01:12:41Life's full of surprises.
01:12:43How special.
01:12:44Truce cookies.
01:12:45Cinnamon in the recipe.
01:12:46You vampires don't touch.
01:12:47You humans help yourselves.
01:12:49Three months open.
01:12:50This is the first time a pure-blood VIP has come in.
01:12:52Lord Draven, can I take your picture for the wall?
01:12:54Eldest son of House Vane drank tea here.
01:12:57No.
01:12:58Oh, okay.
01:13:00But you can hang a row.
01:13:01House Vane, House Blackwood, House Nocturne.
01:13:04Three cups, three tables.
01:13:05This isn't just my place.
01:13:07This place belongs to everyone willing to sit down in that middle chair.
01:13:17Excuse me.
01:13:18I'm from out of town.
01:13:19I heard the owner of this cafe used to be a bartender.
01:13:22He said if I didn't know which side I was on, I could ask the people at the window table.
01:13:27My grandma said our family has vampire blood somewhere down the line.
01:13:31I don't know if it's true.
01:13:32I came to New Orleans to find out.
01:13:35I don't want to spend my whole life not knowing.
01:13:40What's your name?
01:13:41Hannah.
01:13:41Hannah Frost.
01:13:42This is Draven Vane, one of the purest blood vampires alive today.
01:13:46He's 327 years old.
01:13:49Let him look at your arm.
01:13:50If he can't recognize those patterns, no one in the Americas can.
01:13:57Those are House Duskrow's bloodline marks.
01:13:59The clan was wiped out in Chicago 200 years ago.
01:14:03You are the last descendant.
01:14:05Your grandmother didn't lie to you.
01:14:07So, so, so what am I?
01:14:10You are a survivor, same as everyone here.
01:14:12This is my wife, Raven.
01:14:14She is a Blackwood demon hunter descendant and the bearer of my heart's blood.
01:14:19If you need help adjusting to this new identity,
01:14:22the hybrid affairs department at the council can assign you a contact person.
01:14:36Third chair!
01:14:38I've got a third chair in the back!
01:14:42A year ago tonight, you walked through the door at the card table and tapped the frame three times with
01:14:48your fingers.
01:14:49I was sitting in the VIP room, and I heard those three taps from halfway across the casino.
01:14:54I thought, 300 years, and it's the first time I've heard a living person signal.
01:15:00I was psyching myself up.
01:15:02I've always hated basements.
01:15:06The casino was three floors underground.
01:15:10You hate basements.
01:15:12But you tapped the demon hunter signal anyway.
01:15:15You're full of that.
01:15:16Scared to death, but stubborn as hell.
01:15:19It's the Blackwood jeans.
01:15:20Grandma said fear isn't a flaw.
01:15:22Being afraid and still going forward is.
01:15:25This is the key to the tower.
01:15:27Not the door that sealed my mother's memories.
01:15:30The key to every door in this castle.
01:15:32From the dungeons to the tower top.
01:15:34Every single one.
01:15:35Darren, this...
01:15:36A year ago, I locked you in this castle.
01:15:39The doors weren't locked.
01:15:41But you couldn't go anywhere.
01:15:43Because Leo's life was in my hands.
01:15:45Now I've given him back.
01:15:47Leo's left arm can sense dark creatures now.
01:15:49He has his own office and a salary on the security team.
01:15:52You aren't a prisoner.
01:15:54You are my...
01:15:55I am your what?
01:15:57You are the only person in my entire life I chose to stay.
01:16:01Not because of a covenant.
01:16:02If this key means anything,
01:16:04it isn't that I can lock or unlock doors.
01:16:07It's that you could leave.
01:16:09And you haven't.
01:16:11I don't have anywhere else I want to go.
01:16:14I quit the bar in the French Quarter.
01:16:17Rick opened the cafe.
01:16:18My brother has a job at your house.
01:16:21No, at my house.
01:16:22Raven Blackwood.
01:16:24Finish what you were going to say.
01:16:27Will you...
01:16:29No longer as my covenant wife.
01:16:31But as yourself.
01:16:33Stay in this castle.
01:16:34In this family.
01:16:36In this life.
01:16:51Do you think if someone asks about tonight 300 years from now, what will they say?
01:16:56They'll say,
01:16:58On a blood moon night,
01:16:59a vampire and a demon hunter stood on a tower top for a very long time.
01:17:03Then the moon set,
01:17:04and they still hadn't left.
01:17:06300 years ago,
01:17:07a demon hunter saved a vampire.
01:17:09300 years later,
01:17:11a vampire fell in love with a demon hunter.
01:17:14This is not a cycle.
01:17:15It is a correction.
01:17:16A vampire and a demon hunter stood on a tower top for a very long time.
01:17:16A vampire and a demon hunter stood on a tower top for a very long time.
01:17:16A vampire and a demon hunter stood on a tower top for a very long time.
