00:00Nineteen Emmy nominations. Congratulations. What goes through your head when you hear a number like that?
00:05Well, you know what it is, is because I actually announced the Emmy nominations and they were saying like,
00:11do you think Widow's Bay will be in it? And I was like, yeah, I do. I was like fully
00:17confident.
00:18But the nineteen, I was like, oh, that's kind of surprising. And it makes me feel, you know, happy. It's
00:24fun to be on a hit.
00:25I was not at all surprised. I mean, I just knew from the beginning what this was. I could, the
00:30writing and it was like,
00:32when I read, when I read episode nineteen, I was like, this can't possibly be true, really. It was, the
00:41writing is so amazing and just goes all over the place.
00:45The funny thing is that I, me and my whole family were watching it as they were like having the
00:50Emmy nominations and sang it out and
00:52Widow's Bay was the last name to be called. And we freaked out. We were like, oh, no, it's not
00:59going to happen. It's not going to happen.
00:59And then it did. And afterwards I was talking to our, our Widow Bay's group chat. And we were just
01:07talking about how many nominations we got.
01:10And it's nuts. It's nuts. Also, it was only eight episodes that were nominated. The other two weren't even nominated.
01:16And so it was insane. I'm really, really grateful.
01:19Oh, you know, you're just grateful for the appreciation, notoriety for Katie and her incredible sense of fortitude and sticking
01:32with this idea.
01:33Uh, it's, it's, it's just rewarding on, on, on that level. And I think it's, um, a great reminder to
01:44artists that rejection comes with it.
01:48Katie first wrote this as a spec script when she was in a writer's room and it got rejected. She
01:55stayed with it for almost 20 years.
01:57So that alone, a huge reminder for the artist community. Sometimes you just have to keep believing and to see
02:10that she did that and to see what it is for her. I mean, I'm just blown away by it.
