00:17narrow streets are often lined on both sides with cars of an afternoon and residents say
00:22that an increase of traffic will only make it more unsafe for the children and families living nearby.
00:28They fear it'll also be too difficult for larger vehicles including emergency services vehicles
00:34to make their way to the sports fields in the case of emergencies.
00:38Two months of back and forth communication between the neighbours and Shell Harbour Council
00:42seem to have gone nowhere despite the group presenting an alternative option for a car
00:48park entrance on Harbour Boulevard. They say council told them that an increase in traffic would
00:53actually lower the risk as people would drive safer. As of July 30 a middle ground is yet to be
00:59reached.
