00:00For a lot of us, today is the start of living with change to our normal routines and regular patterns
00:05of our daily lives,
00:06brought about by the necessary response to the threat of coronavirus.
00:10Many of you, as parents and carers, will be adjusting to what might become a lengthy period of looking forward.
00:15Some of you will also be giving up your time to ensure those children not in school are kept stimulated
00:20during these unprecedented times.
00:22But there are resources out there which can help, and some of the charities I support are doing brilliant work.
00:28I want to share some of these campaigns with you today, at the start of this period.
00:33I hope these will be useful to you, in some small way.
00:36Firstly, I want to begin by highlighting the work of the NSPCC,
00:40who are offering advice on how best to speak to children about COVID-19,
00:43and the effect it's having on their daily lives and routines.
01:03Many people and their families coping with autism may be feeling anxious about coronavirus.
01:08I'd recommend following at Autism for useful information on coping with this issue.
01:22Why don't you join us in taking part in the at ISPCC underscore child line,
01:28hashtag childline challenge.
01:29Each day, they'll challenge you and your children to take part in an activity to help beat boredom.
01:45For parents and carers, it can be a daunting time to help our children and young people through this period
01:50of uncertainty.
01:51But please don't feel alone.
01:53Make use of the resources out there and the fantastic digital communities that are sharing them and supporting them.
01:59Stay safe.
02:00And thank you.
02:01Thank you.
