00:00How about what Howard Balzer just said about Eli Manning?
00:02Do you believe Eli Manning's a Hall of Fame quarterback?
00:06Yeah, so, Dan, I think that he has one of the toughest cases to evaluate
00:10because you look at those two Super Bowl runs with the Giants
00:12and, you know, knocking off the undefeated Patriots,
00:15that is an iconic moment in NFL history.
00:17So you think on that alone, you could say he could hang his hat on that resume
00:22and say, hey, I knocked off the undefeated Patriots with this team
00:25and then we beat them again five years later.
00:27So we have the two Super Bowls, two Super Bowl MVPs.
00:29But as both of you guys hinted at, his regular season record
00:32at the end of his career was rather underwhelming.
00:35So, you know, you're going to get a lot of voters and people who look at it
00:38and say, well, he got hot twice at the right time.
00:41Those teams got hot at the right time.
00:43Without those Super Bowls, what is his resume for the Hall of Fame?
00:46It's just it falls below some of the other quarterbacks.
00:49So I think he's probably going to have a long wait.
00:52But I would imagine at some point those two Super Bowls
00:55will probably carry him over the finish line.
00:58And really, the first one is the most important
01:01because those undefeated Patriots were not supposed to be beaten in that game.
01:05Eli Manning and the underdog Giants got it done.
01:07So I think eventually people are going to look at that historic moment
01:11and say, we have to have Eli Manning in because of this.
01:14We have to have some of those defenders in because of this.
01:16But I do think it's going to be tough for him to get in
01:19with just some of the guys coming down the line,
01:21like Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady.
01:23It's going to make the path a little bit difficult for Eli.
