00:06it's just beyond my wildest dreams.
00:08It feels like a massive step in the right direction for me.
00:12Well, the design team have taken such great pleasure
00:15in making sure that it's a perfect kind of representation
00:18of who I am.
00:19My tattoos and my earrings and the shape of my head.
00:23I chose the alpha that I wore winning
00:25Model of the Year last year, which Michael Halpern made.
00:28Her casual wear is the Girls Talk t-shirt.
00:31It's just a perfect representation of my two worlds
00:34and the importance of those two worlds to me.
00:37So the Barbie brand has been honoring real women
00:40that have been doing amazing things for the past five years.
00:43And Adjua Aboa rose to the top
00:46when we were looking at impressive women in the UK
00:48that are truly doing positive things to advance girls.
00:51We love the foundation that she's created, Girls Talk.
00:54She herself is an amazing role model.
00:55I think it's really important that Barbie represents
00:58all different types of women.
01:01Representation is key.
01:03I think it was something that I was lacking when growing up.
01:06We uncovered some research that shows that at the age of five,
01:10that young, girls start doubting their gender
01:12and losing confidence in their abilities.
01:14So the Dream Gap Project is a global multi-year initiative
01:18that's mission is to break down barriers
01:21that are preventing girls from realizing their true potential.
01:25I'm so happy to be part of this wonderful team
01:28that's really trying to close that dream gap.
01:30I'd like girls looking at my Barbie to take away however hard it is
01:36and how many times you feel like you kind of just want to jump out your skin
01:39to, like, stay true to yourself,
01:42because I never thought any of this would be possible.
