00:00So what I've learned during lockdown, I think not to take things for granted, I've realised how important family and
00:07friends are
00:07and I can't wait to see my mum and dad and to give everybody a big hug and just to
00:13meet friends for a cup of tea
00:15and also really looking forward to a trip to Orkney, just to get some fantastic fresh air, eat some amazing
00:23food and have a really good time.
00:26Hello everybody, I'm Saira and this is my daughter Amara and this is Vera.
00:33Hello Vera, hello everybody. We've been asked by Hello Magazine to share with you some of the things that we've
00:39taken away from lockdown.
00:42So Amara, do you want to start?
00:44So we started doing this gratitude jar where every day you write what you are grateful for and pop it
00:51in this jar.
00:52So at the end of the month we're going to read them all out and see them all over.
00:56And we started that because we found somebody else doing it as a family.
01:02It was so easy to kind of get down because you can't see your friends, you're restricted, can't go out
01:09and take your mind off things, go to the coffee shop or something like that.
01:15But despite the restrictions, we've still managed to find so many things every day that have been positive and that
01:22we're grateful for.
01:24So what's one of the things that you've written down?
01:25I'm grateful for Microsoft Teams because I can chat with my friends and have video calls so I don't get
01:33to miss out on speaking to them.
01:35Brilliant. So grateful for technology, which is great. And I've been really grateful for my family.
01:42To be honest, people are going to be like, really?
01:45But we have bickered, there's been standoffs, there's been some stroppy behaviour, bit of shouting on my behalf.
01:52But despite all of that, the fact that we've been together, we've had some fabulous times curling up on the
01:58sofa, watching loads of films, having a laugh, playing cards.
02:03The kids have played chess and it's just been a really nice time to actually be together.
02:08We probably won't ever get this time again.
02:10So just, I think for me, learning about the children in lockdown and the children learning about their mum and
02:17dad and how they work and what they get up to actually has been, I think, a very positive and
02:22empowering experience.
02:24And of course, one of the things that we've definitely taken away from lockdown is our love for Vera.
02:31Hope you've got lots of positive things that you've taken away from your lockdown as well.
