00:00Wow. Okay, so it's 4.50 a.m. and Hurricane Idalia is still a category three but in a couple
00:08minutes we could get an update. It could strengthen to four. We're 130 some miles southeast of it here in
00:16Treasure Island right near St. Pete Beach and I'm going to take you out here. It's very windy but you're
00:21going to see the entire street of the main intersection here 107th and Gulf Boulevard flooded.
00:51So with that onshore wind, the south wind that will eventually turn southwest, the water has been piling through the
00:58night and they've had
00:59flooding here. The roads are definitely becoming impassable. Thankfully, you know, we have a safe place to be and thankfully
01:09it's not a wall of water like they will see right on the right quadrant up there in Appalachie Bay
01:14where it will make landfall.
01:15So Steam Hatchie and Cedar Key, that's the unsurvivable stuff. This is intense coastal flooding. This area and these barrier
01:24islands flood often. They've got major erosion issues and flooding is not something they haven't done but this is a
01:31big push.
01:31So this is a big test to see when you've got this cap three even far away that big pool
01:38of water toward the shore and it's going to happen for the next six hours or so. So we're going
01:42to be watching what happens there. We've got updates through the morning.
01:47I just wanted to share with you all since we just got here into this intersection that I think a
01:54lot of people know. I know I've been here a lot and that Thunderbird stands out. So stay safe if
02:00you are on those evacuation zones. Check all the way down.
02:04I mean all the way down the street. It's it's certainly pushing water and you can see the push of
02:09water from the ocean and a lot of like down the way where there was a condo building. We had
02:15a backup place to be that's covered. So there's no way we'll be there, but we will be here throughout
02:22GMA so you can watch us with updates and I'll have updates from the storm.
02:25We've got teams in Tallahassee in Gainesville. Rob's in Tampa. We've got folks over in Jacksonville and Charleston. Remember this
02:35goes so fast and we're talking like power outage type wind that can go even into southern Georgia. That's how
02:42quickly and how strong of a buzz saw the storm is. It's also very wide like with its you know
02:48tropical storm force winds or at least these kind of outer bands that are whipping on shore.
02:52So there's going to be a lot of impacts really far south as well. So we'll we'll keep updating you
02:58but hope all as well. We will stay safe always. Thank you. You guys are always so concerned about safety.
03:04We are always safety first.
