00:22Women are generally expected not to talk about fertility treatment.
00:26So we navigate this huge life event silently, injecting ourselves in between meetings,
00:33turning up to big pitches and presentations pumped up on all kind of weird hormones,
00:38and making big financial sacrifices to give us the best chance of the future we want.
00:45And we don't talk about it at work for fear of appearing weak or distracted,
00:50which is hugely ironic given the sheer resilience that this entire process requires.
00:58Generally speaking, and it's something I think about a lot,
01:01our male peers who want children or might want children one day
01:05are not grappling with all of this alongside their nine to fives.
01:10By publicly showing all of us what many women are quietly going through behind the scenes,
01:16AOC is number one, making us feel less alone.
01:21She's challenging leadership double standards,
01:23and hopefully she's forcing employers to confront the very real financial
01:29and physical realities of reproductive care.
