00:00So vendor lock-in is basically like once you start using a Silicon Valley tech company's product it can be
00:07really hard to move off it even if you're really dissatisfied with the service that you're getting.
00:12So the Federated Data Platform is built on Palantir's software. Foundry is Palantir's own product and if NHS data analysts
00:23lose access to that platform they lose all their work on the Federated Data Platform.
00:29You know so if the product that you're using is owned by a company like Palantir that you know its
00:35co-founder Peter Thiel is so deeply embedded with the Trump administration that becomes a national security issue because our
00:43NHS data is one of the most valuable resources that this country has.
00:49Like we've spoken about this on the podcast before we the US does not have anything like what we've got
00:55in terms of NHS patient data like it is such a valuable product and it is all the tech companies
01:01are really really really interested in it.
01:03So you know and like last year we were saying the Ministry of Defence signed a big partnership with Palantir
01:09like worth 750 million and has already admitted that it's become locked into Palantir's software.
01:16So that is an absolutely terrifying prospect.
01:20So that is an absolutely terrifying prospect.
