00:01What happened is that my client was arrested yesterday morning very early in his mother's vehicle and he was charged
00:10with murdering his mother and his brother.
00:13He's also charged in juvenile court with the stealing of the motor vehicle.
00:19He's 17 years old. This is clearly a horrific experience for him.
00:24It's an unimaginable tragedy to the whole family, obviously, to say the least.
00:30He's very confused about the whole process.
00:33You know, we heard a set of facts that just got right into the record.
00:37And I think once we start doing some more investigation and based on information I've developed, I think there'll be
00:45some surprises.
00:47I think he is also a product of maybe a system that's failed him.
00:52He's a young man that has some issues, as you heard, and the system, I think, failed him.
01:01He learns when he gets arrested that his mother's dead.
01:07He can't speak to his father.
01:09He understands his brother's dead.
01:10He understands his brother's dead.
01:13When he left the house, he did not realize they were dead.
01:16And so he is, in my words, in somewhat a shock situation.
01:21What was his reaction to learning they were dead?
