00:00Well, welcome ladies. As the writer and director, please tell me about your film, Daddy's Little Meatball.
00:09Exactly, Daddy's Little Meatball. It's intriguing.
00:11I feel like the title's gotten some good attention this festival, which I'm happy about.
00:14It's a film that is following an Australian father-daughter duo on a trip to New York,
00:20and it's really a coming-of-age story and a story about two people growing together through this shared experience.
00:26What has your experience been on this film?
00:30Oh my gosh. It has just been the most amazing experience, and especially to be here in Santa Barbara now
00:36with the team is just, it's honestly surreal.
00:39And I think there's something really special about working with friends as well.
00:43It's just, it's a beautiful experience that I hope, no matter how big everyone inevitably gets, that we still treasure
00:51what we have right now.
00:53Getting to do all these festivals with friends has just been out of this world.
00:58Was it a challenge, shooting in New York?
01:00It was a challenge. It was, from the outset, I really wanted to shoot a New York movie, and we
01:04shot in really amazing locations.
01:06We also shot in January, and it was freezing cold.
01:10But we had the best cast and crew, and I feel like spirits were high, and we made sure everyone
01:15was warm and had warm drinks.
01:16But definitely a challenge. Probably the weather was the biggest challenge, yeah.
01:19Well, how does it feel to have it here now, at SBIFF?
01:23I know, and it's like beautiful weather and hot. It's the opposite. It feels really amazing. This is our U
01:29.S. premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
01:34And the reception last night was awesome. I'm so happy with the fact that it's connecting with a lot of
01:39people of all different ages and, you know, all different nationalities.
01:43And I'm just, yeah, it's been amazing.
01:45Well, that's wonderful, because making a film is a long journey.
01:48Yeah.
01:48Yeah.
01:49And we're excited that you brought it to us, and you're having such a great reception.
01:54All right, enjoy every moment here.
01:55Thank you so much.
