00:12Reuters reports that at least 93 people are now confirmed to have died during the fire on the northwest coast.
00:18All his fire crews continue to put out smaller blazes in the area.
00:22Authorities are now calling it the worst natural disaster in the state's history,
00:26outpacing the 1961 tsunami that resulted in the deaths of 61 people.
00:31Now, Insider reports, locals say those very authorities have dropped the ball with regards to supporting residents after the disaster.
00:38Locals told the news outlet that when the sun goes down, many are being robbed at gunpoint for their goods
00:43and supplies.
00:44Riots have even broken out between locals and police after cops prevented them from returning to the town to salvage
00:50their homes.
00:50There are even reports of supplies like critical meds, including insulin, being rerouted or grounded on other islands altogether,
00:57forcing locals to coordinate with pilots directly, all as the mayor's office remains generally silent.
