The three victims killed when an Immigration Department truck ran a red light in Kuala Lumpur early Wednesday (Aug 19) have been named as Shaik Mohd Firdaus Shaikh Yahya, 53, and his daughters Siti Nor Sazlin, 25, and Siti Darwisyah Auni, 12.

His wife, Norhayati Razali, 55, remains in ICU in stable condition.

Both drivers involved have been remanded for a day.

00:00Police say the father and his two daughters, who were killed in the immigration truck crash
00:05in Kuala Lumpur early Wednesday, were on holiday from Kampar, Perak.

00:26is now in the ICU at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and said to be in stable condition.
00:32As of noon, post-mortem examinations on the three victims were still underway at HKL's
00:38National Forensic Medicine Institute.
00:41Their immediate family members were reported to have arrived at the institute earlier in
00:45the afternoon.
00:46Meanwhile, KL Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Fadil Marsus said CCTV footage showed the four
00:53family members at the road divider near the Jalan Sultan Ismail traffic lights, in front
00:58of Maju Junction, while crossing towards Jalan Chaukit at about 1am on Wednesday.
01:04He added that the family was in a safe area for crossing the road when they were hit by
01:08the lorry.
01:10Both drivers involved in the accident, the 43-year-old immigration truck driver and the
01:1550-year-old car driver, have been remanded for a day to assist investigations.
01:20The case is being probed under Section 41 Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
