00:04hey guys i would have thought bringing up stoney's college days would be from the news
00:08out of penn state this week oh yeah john and chester yeah no i have cousins kids who go to
00:15penn state so i asked i hope mason is not in uh this those fraternities and then the mother says
00:22thankfully not no so why are we looking up your transcripts well uh it's a broader issue than my
00:28transcripts but it's lenora sellers you're familiar with his work yeah quarterback south carolina
00:35they're they had a press conference the other day and they were asking them about you know majors and
00:41things like that and he happened to bring up that he doesn't have any classes this semester
00:47his only school commitment outside of football is an internship at the party golf center in columbia
00:57which is a driving range his duties quote just facility management stuff like that cutting grass
01:03and picking up balls okay i have nothing against internships i had an internship i'm sure a lot of
01:12people have had internships and i'm not picking on him per se but this just it's not just him it's
01:18this
01:18the broader idea of college athletics and while many people are pissed off at the transfer portal
01:26or pissed off at nil the thing that really bothers me is there because the ncaa has no power if
01:35you're
01:35going to go have a chance for porter and i at least have one especially that goes through congress at
01:40least make these kids go to class make them my justin fields remember we went to ohio state never
01:46been in a classroom does you know and i know you don't have to do anything you can do things
01:51online
01:51make these kids they have to go to class well this is i remember the boy you know basic you
01:59know rule
02:00back in the day matt leinard i remember famously had like a ballroom dancing class his final year at
02:06usc because he was graduated but needed to maintain eligibility so that they look and for sellers it's
02:11more of like a grad intern i don't know what whatever okay but it got me thinking
02:17going to the driving range for your internship that's your class that's pretty awesome what was
02:22the easiest class you ever took in college 248-539-9797 we used to call them gut classes
02:29that's what they were called guts i don't know why but that was the name for easy classes so this
02:36is
02:36an interesting question but then it got even more interesting when you revealed to us that you have
02:41every class you've ever taken saved on your phone yes well the first of all the easiest class i took
02:45was this class called individual creative expression and i took i took that in the uh spring of 1978
02:54along with sports society in the press taught by maury povich's father shirley povich the
03:01hall of fame baseball writer by the way why a man's name shirley i have no idea however and don't
03:06call me
03:07shirley uh that was my best semester i had a 307 that year i also my freshman year i'm looking
03:12back
03:13i took uh freshman semester i took tennis i feel guilty now my parents paid for me to go to
03:19college
03:20and play tennis i took tennis as a class yeah well you weren't paying what they're paying now to take
03:25tennis as a class i know that's for damn sure and uh you know there's some obviously my communications
03:32courses you know public speaking that they're legitimate classes you know i gotta be in business
03:38law my my grade point average of graduation is nothing to be proud about at the american university
03:44uh two three okay so i wasn't another great student i can't imagine why that was but it was anyway
03:51this
03:52class individual creative expression all you do basically was show up it was the only class in
03:57college that i actually got stoned for and we it was you for our final we had to do this
04:04we did like
04:06the group project you picked a song and you had to act it out and we did band on the
04:13run we just
04:14ran around the paul mccartney wink song band on the run band on the run yeah okay then for you
04:21my
04:21individual one for my final i did the song winter time by steve miller in the winter time and i'd
04:29sit
04:29there and pretend i was freezing and it was bizarre it was like it's like it was like a dance
04:34class it
04:34was on the school of dance we all found out that it was very easy so we all took it
04:38and the teacher's
04:39name was she was her name was lou lou white not my dad lou but lou white so what was
04:46you guys all
04:46went to college what was your gut your easy class you took what about you it's hard for me to
04:52go back
04:52and even remember all of the classes i took i think anything in communications was pretty simple
04:59or those were like that was like the easy major if you don't know what to do go into communications
05:03and it's easy but once i got into my the school of um like school of ed for teaching right
05:09i thought
05:10those classes were not easy but fun like i took a a children's lit class and we literally were reading
05:16children's books and then like analyzing them and discussing that like pretty easy um i would say
05:23i think i might have taken a creative writing class also when it's like a creative class it's like open
05:29to interpretation so as long as you're using proper punctuation i think it was you got an a right like
05:35as long as you wrote something and you wrote it well could be on anything that was easy i feel
05:40like
05:40you're asking easy or cool whatever you want those are different but you take a class because you know
05:46you're going to get like a good when you said easy like my college experience was kind of a windy
05:51road so when i first got there i went into broadcasting and central has a great student
05:55radio station but they also have tv and some writing and i was trying all of my light radio
05:59but i noticed people who are seniors didn't exactly have jobs lined up that this radio thing might be
06:06just a dream and not actually going to work out so then i attempted to double major in business and
06:11for a couple years i was juggling both before realizing oh i'm going to be in college for like
06:15five years if i do this so then i ended up making it a business minor and a broadcast major
06:21that was
06:21smart though what you did who knows i mean no i know but in fact learning something else um but
06:29because of the way it worked i still had some easy credits towards the end and i had this like
06:33music appreciation class my last semester and it's big auditorium it's mostly freshmen the homework is
06:39online and you could do it as many times until you get it right so you just keep clicking until
06:43you get it right you're not actually learning anything that was the easiest class i took
06:47248-539-9797 um go to carl okay let's go to carl you're on 97.1
06:57hey what's going on fellas how you doing carl all right so stoney i can i can agree with you
07:02a little
07:03bit but once you become a senior and you and you feel like your requirements oh yeah it's like it's
07:10like for sellers it's it's like his he took a class just so he could take a class and he
07:15did it as an
07:16internship you know it's like almost like a grad class for him because he had enough credits to
07:21grade he's got enough credits to graduate anyway yeah so if he does who who cares he's already
07:27filled in requirements he's already i know i'm with you yes i i got my my my you know you're
07:34not
07:34mad at him it's the system it's the system where you that should not even even even at the system
07:41you know you know once you refill your requirements just like high school you know even when i was in
07:45high school after i felt my requirements basically i went to senior and and i did home ec you know
07:53i
07:53really didn't have to go to school but back then you had to right so now it's a different thing
07:58so i
07:59i think if you stay in school thinking you ain't got nothing else to do i'm not gonna harp on
08:05these
08:06guys right well i'm not gonna internship yeah i'm not harping on him per se i just think that
08:11there are a lot of instances that you know of where the kids don't even go to class which i
08:16think is a
08:16joke but it just got me thinking about easy classes in college
08:22well i'm just thinking about them going to school period yeah i mean how many how many outside of
08:27people of two years do they even go to college anymore so if you can get to four years you
08:33know
08:34i'm like i'm not i hope it didn't come across i was picking on him it was just you know
08:38just
08:38because it was a driving range too sounded weird to me well it sounded like a fun easy class you're
08:43getting credits for shagging balls yeah of course hanging out uh some texts coming in
08:50bowling class the final exam was to keep score your final game oh my gosh that's awesome i did
08:57bowling at eastern did you did yes hey we had to take it was part of the whole thing certain
09:04credits
09:04you had to get how about this wine tasting class in college we tried four different wines and ate
09:10cheese and crackers jack and chesterfield wow what pretty pretty impressive i wish i would have
09:16taken basic analytics steve at oakland hills cooking 101 cooking 101 brad and alan park
09:26easiest classes you took in college uh i took knitting at michigan dylan and royal oak oh my gosh
09:33let's get to the phones let's go to joe in grand rapids joe good morning oh greg saying we're late
09:38we are way late greg i'm sorry joe you'll be the first in line when we come back we want
09:42to talk
09:42easy classes fun classes that you took in college lenora sellers his final semester yeah gonna be at
09:47the driving range yeah it's 97 one
