00:08long-deployed USS Abraham Lincoln.
00:11In a post on X, the U.S. Central Command, which oversees U.S. forces in the region, announced that
00:17the George Washington Carrier Strike Group is now operating in the Middle East.
00:22The change comes after reports of grim conditions on the USS Abraham Lincoln, including food shortages and broken plumbing, while
00:33there have also been reports of suicide attempts.
00:36The carrier has been deployed since November 2025, while carrier groups are generally designed for six-month deployments for reasons
00:44including sailor welfare.
00:46Democratic lawmakers have called for an investigation into the reports, but U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed concerns last Friday,
00:56while confirming the ship would soon rotate out.
00:59The Japan-based USS George Washington has been operating in the Pacific, and its new transfer means there is no
