00:03I'm Akshita Anandakopal. I'll be getting you all the latest updates coming in this Friday evening.
00:08What can you expect on the show this evening?
00:10Well, on the show, we're going to be talking about the intense showdown that we witnessed in the Tamil Nadu
00:16Assembly.
00:16A war of words between Udeniti Stalin and TVK ministers.
00:20It got so downright ugly that they were words like Sanghi minister, bathroom leader doing the rounds.
00:28What exactly was this face-off about? What was the issue that really these leaders were fighting it out over?
00:34I'll break all of that down for you.
00:35But what's very clear is that now it's absolutely personal between TVK and the DNP.
00:42All those highlights coming your way will begin with the headlines.
00:48Delhi police gives Ayn on Rahul's demand.
00:50After nearly five hours of dharna, Delhi police files FIR-Ayn alleged pellet incident.

02:02her.
02:03Janasena MP's son booked car seized by cops.
02:06An investigation underway.
02:12BJP stages stir in Karnataka Assembly against Karnataka Minister Nagendra claims and calls him corrupt,
02:20therefore demands his resignation.
02:30We'll begin by rounding up the highlights of the Tamil Nadu Assembly today
02:34because literally fireworks were off.
02:36The ruling TVK and the opposition DMK locked in a bitter war of words.
02:40It was essentially over Chief Minister Vijay's claim two days ago
02:44when he said that three DMK files will be released at the right time,
02:49threatening to expose alleged corruption by the DMK.
02:52Leader of opposition, Udeniti Stalin, retorted today, saying,
02:55go ahead and release the files ASAP.
02:57Why do you want to hold off on it?
02:59Are you waiting for some right timing by an astrologer?
03:02Things descended between the two sides,
03:05so much so that words like sanghi minister, bathroom leader were being used in the house.
03:12Here's a look at all the drama that played out in the assembly.
03:18The Tamil Nadu Assembly has almost turned into a battleground,
03:22with the ruling TVK and the opposition DMK regularly trading barbs on the floor of the house.
03:29No day has passed without a face-off this week.
03:33Chief Minister Vijay on Wednesday hinted that three department files containing hidden truths
03:38could expose the DMK government.
03:41On Friday, leader of opposition Udeniti Stalin hit back openly challenging Chief Minister Vijay.
03:47One week back to the UNManyika,
03:51one week back to the UNManyika,
03:52one week back to the UNManyika,
03:53one week back to the UNManyika and one month
03:53three department reviews and the files are in the table.
03:59He told me that they can't tell us anything.
04:01There's a UNManyika table.
04:05Never mind is open,
04:07everyone is in the right place.
04:24And the war of words did not stop there. Udhanidhi took a swipe at the Vijay government, calling it a
04:31real government.
04:54That was just one of several fiery face-offs in the Assembly. The House also witnessed a bitter exchange between
05:02Udhanidhi and Minister CTR Nirmalkumar.
05:05Udhanidhi referred to Nirmalkumar as the Sangee Minister, which prompted the Minister to hit back with a personal dick at
05:12the Tamil Nadu's leader of opposition.
05:14Nirmidhi was saying that Nirmidhi is the best person not here.
05:18How do you get along the way?
05:26You were saying that Nirmidhi is the best person.
05:47Piles, threats and personal jibes.
05:50The Tamil Nadu Assembly has seen the TVK-DMK battle reach a new high with neither side battling
05:56down.
05:57With Apoorvajaya Chandran, EuroReport, India Today.
06:04That wasn't the only showdown in the Assembly.
06:06If it got downright personal and ugly, you heard there what happened between Nudainiti
06:11Stalin and C.T.R. and Irma Kumar.
06:13The other showdown was over the TVK government's decision, a rather controversial one, to provide
06:18new cars to all 234 MLAs.
06:20And that's triggered a fresh face-off.
06:22The DMK has said, we don't want these cars.
06:24All of their MLAs will reject these cars offered by the government.
06:28They said it's a luxury.
06:29They don't need it.
06:31The DMK, Odenainiti Stalin, also came up with a solution, advising the government, saying,
06:36look at the affidavits of each of the MLAs and see who needs these cars versus who doesn't,
06:41instead of giving it to every single one of them.
06:44It's not just the DMK.
06:45The PMK, the left, also have rejected this offer, saying, we will not accept these cars.
06:51The images on your screens are of the line-up of brand-new vehicles that have been put up
06:56outside the Secretariat for the TVK government to pick exactly which vehicle MLAs will get.
07:12Tamil Nadu politics is shifting into top gear.
07:15After deciding to shift the CM's office from Fort St. George to Namakal, Kavinger, Malligai,
07:22Vijay on Wednesday put another set of wheels in motion.
07:25New cars for all 234 MLAs.
07:28For the ruling TVK, it is an upgrade for legislators.
07:33But the DMK claims it is nothing short of luxury.
07:37The PMK claims it is nothing short of luxury.
08:07And within just a day of the announcement, the cars were already at the Secretariat.
08:12Several models were brought in for MLAs to inspect and choose from.
08:16Some legislators even found their own way of thanking the Chief Minister.
08:40But the announcement also became fodder for social media trolls, with some MLAs facing bizarre requests
08:47and reactions online.
09:05The DMK, which criticized the move, refused to take the government-provided cars.
09:11If you were to watch, you can file in the right place.
09:17You will know the car.
09:19You will know the car.
09:22You will know the car.
09:41The PMK and left parties also rejected the offer of new cars.
10:21TVK government's argument is that the cars are not a luxury, but an upgrade in keeping
10:25with the times.
10:26But there is another question driving this debate.
10:30If the government says the state treasury is under financial strain, can it justify spending
10:35on a new fleet of cars for legislators?
10:37For now, the cars may be lined up outside the secretariat, but politically, the DMK-TVK
10:44battle is already in top gear.
10:47With Anagar Keshav, Bureau Report, India Today.
11:07Essentially suggesting that the TVK had first said freeze, and then in the meeting with
11:11Home Minister Amit Shah and in the southern zonal meet, the TVK only asked for a written
11:17assurance that there would be no change in the state's percentage, which is the DMK stand
11:21of a fair delimitation.
11:22That played out in the Assembly as well as outside, as the Congress came to the defence
11:28of the TVK reiterating that a freeze is what they stand for.
11:32The DMK, however, is not convinced.
11:46The delimitation battle is heating up in Tamil Nadu.
11:50Congress MP Karthichidambaram has warned that a major increase in Lok Sabha seats could reduce
11:56political influence of southern states.
12:15His argument is simple.
12:17If seats are increased by 50%, a handful of Hindi-speaking states could gain enough numbers to determine
12:25who forms the government at the centre.
12:28DMK has also stepped up its attack.
12:30Leader opposition Udayanidi Stalin hit out at Chief Minister Vijay for not mentioning anything
12:36about freezing 543 MP seats.
12:42Japanese MPs are freezed from the V.I.P. and that's why we are in the development of the
12:51At the level of the system, in the third place, the 553 MPs are freezed from the V.I.P.
13:03the M.P. seat.
13:04The M.P. seat will be freezed from the V.I.P.
13:09and questioned whether Tamil Nadu's interests were being compromised.
13:15When your leader said no delimitation, your alliance party chief minister is asking for a fad delimitation.
13:24So we like to know that, how can the Tamil Nadu chief minister keep changing his stance or did he
13:31get scared?
13:33But now the DMK faces a counter-attack from TVK.
13:37TVK leader Adhav Arjuna has demanded that the DMK make its position absolutely clear.
14:00He also pointed to Tamil Nadu government's earlier resolution,
14:05calling for the total number of Lok Sabha seats to remain frozen at 543.
14:11Tamil Nadu minister Adhav hit back at DMK and said that DMK's stance on delimitation seems to be changing.
14:18So the political question remains as pressing as ever.
14:22Will Tamil Nadu unite against any increase in Lok Sabha seats?
14:26Or will the DMK and TVK continue to battle over who is taking the strongest stand on delimitation?
14:32Bhitanaga Keshav and Apoorva Jayachandran in Chennai, Bera Report, India Today.
14:46Let's get you breaking news coming in in the Hyderabad Aston Martin crash case.
14:51Remember, a 26-year-old woman was killed after she was mowed down by the son of an Andhra Pradesh
14:58MP, of a Janasena MP.
15:00Now, more updates that are coming in right now.
15:03The preliminary alcohol test of the Janasena MP's son has come forward to be negative.
15:08But the Telangana police has confirmed that the blood samples of the accused have been collected
15:13and sent to a forensic science lab for further analysis.
15:16This is to confirm whether the accused here, who you see on your screens,
15:20they're undergoing the breathalyzer test, was in fact in an inebriated condition or not.
15:27The police are also saying that there was no possibility of arrest as initial tests were negative.
15:33A notice has been issued.
15:34The vehicle has been seized for now.
15:37This man you see on your screens was driving an Aston Martin on the streets of Hyderabad,
15:43rammed into a 26-year-old woman and killed her.
15:47Horrifying video that's emerged of the incident right after the crash took place.
15:53The accused party took the victim to the hospital.
15:57The police received the intimation from the hospital.
16:00Upon receiving the intimation, the case was registered, the accused was apprehended,
16:05a drug test was done, a drunk driving test was done, everything was done.
16:08And because nothing was found, all the tests came negative, the preliminary tests came negative.
16:14We could only put Section 106, Subclause 1, and under that's because punishment is of under five years.
16:20There was no possibility of arrest as per adhering to the Arneesh Kumar judgment and 35 Subclause 1 conditions.
16:29So that is why the notice was given to him.
16:32The vehicle has been seized.
16:33The MVI inspection was also completed today.
16:35In another three to four days, the report will come.
16:39The accused here is the son of Andhra Pradesh, Janasena MP Lingaman Eni Ramesh.
16:45He is right now, as we confirmed for you, a notice has been issued to him.
16:5123 years old, he was driving an Aston Martin, reportedly at an extremely high speed.
16:56And that's why he rammed into this woman as she was crossing the road right outside a mall in Hyderabad.
17:02The 26-year-old victim, Bharti Mukhi, worked as a saleswoman at the mall.
17:07This, in fact, is an incident that happened a couple of days ago.
17:10She was returning to work after getting food.
17:12When the car rammed into her, she was crossing the road.
17:15She suffered severe head injuries in the collision.
17:18The videos that have emerged soon after the crash are extremely disturbing.
17:23She was rushed to a hospital in the same vehicle.
17:25And the video that's emerged, essentially, she was screaming for help.
17:29She was alive right after the crash, but unfortunately, the doctor has declared her to have been brought dead.
17:34The journey, she couldn't survive.
17:36The police have registered a case against Sanjush.
17:38He's the MP's son in question, the accused here.
17:42Now, police have also said that he is not arrested at this point,
17:45as the offence of causing death by negligence is bailable.
17:48Police have served him a notice.
17:49They're continuing their investigation.
17:52Evidence collected during the investigation indicated that he was very much behind the wheel
17:56when the car struck Mokhi, leading to the registration of the case against him.
17:59It's also led to politics.
18:00The YSRCP is slamming the government over this issue because, like I said,
18:04he is the son of a Janna Sena MP.
18:08Speeding Austin Martin, driven by a 23-year-old son of a sitting Rajya Sabha MP,
18:13has hit and killed a 26-year-old woman, an employee in a mall at Madhapur area in Hyderabad.
18:19We are right now at the spot where the Austin Martin,
18:23which was allegedly at very high speed and driven negligently,
18:26has hit the woman at this particular crossing.
18:28As you can see, the people here are crossing this particular road.
18:31Similarly, a woman named Bharti, along with her friend,
18:35was crossing this road after having lunch at a nearby hotel at around 3 p.m.
18:39She was crossing this road when Austin Martin, driven by a Lingamaneni Sanjush,
18:46who is the son of Janna Sena Party, Rajya Sabha MP, Lingamaneni Ramesh,
18:51was driving this route and he hit the woman who was crossing this particular road.
18:57We had coffee, we had an accident, we had an accident, we had a divider accident,
19:03we had a car, we had a red color car, it was a sports car, it was a car.
19:13We had a girl in the lifestyle, in orbit mall, he had a girl, he had a accident,
19:20he had a accident, he hit the head, he hit the head, he had a little bit of blood,
19:24he hit the child's blood, he hit the girl, he hit the blue color t-shirt,
19:29he hit the man, he hit the hospital, he hit the car and he hit the hospital.
19:33One thing is very clear, the hotline between Mr. Revant Reddy and Mr. Naidu has been very clear,
19:40and they're just weighing away with the fact that they've been with the power,
19:43and they can suppress the facts, and we demand an immediate justice in this particular aspect as well.
19:51What is the difference between Mr. Sidir Appal Raju's issue?
19:54Because they've seen and they've put a lot of political vendetta on him, and this is unacceptable.
20:07Telling on our Chief Minister, Revant Reddy, his scheduled US visit was denied permission
20:12by the central government, by the MEA, and right after that, the MEA is now clarified,
20:17saying, and I quote here,
20:18where the programme proposed in such cases should be appropriate to the office held
20:22and the purpose of the visit.
20:23In this particular case, that was not so.
20:26What the government, however, has highlighted,
20:28in light of questions about political vendetta,
20:31is that Revant Reddy had also applied for similar clearance
20:34to visit the United Kingdom, and was granted that permission.
20:37It was only for the US leg that permission was denied by the Indian government.
20:43The MEA has said that essentially the purpose did not, in fact, fit the category,
20:47and therefore clearance was not given.
20:50That it should be appropriate in such cases to the office held,
20:53the Chief Minister's office, and the purpose of the visit,
20:55in which case, in this case, the MEA didn't feel so,
20:58which is why permission was not granted.
21:00But like I said, the government has highlighted that there was also a request
21:03for a UK visit, which was allowed, which was approved.
21:08Let me say that the visit of Chief Ministers,
21:10as indeed of other dignitaries,
21:13are assessed by the Ministry of External Affairs
21:17in order to accord political clearance.
21:20The programme proposed, in such cases,
21:24should be appropriate to the office held
21:27and the purpose of the visit.
21:30In this particular case, that was not so in respect of the United States,
21:36and therefore the clearance was denied, not given.
21:39Incidentally, let me also tell you that
21:42clearance was given for his visit to the United Kingdom.
21:46So we will await a statement there from the Telangana Chief Minister
21:49about the fact that he wasn't allowed to visit the United States.
21:53That's all we have time for on this broadcast.
21:55Thanks very much for tuning in.
