00:29is that this is a recognition

00:31that we need each other.

00:34We cannot drink our coffee in America without Brazil.

00:38Last year, by value,

00:41Brazil accounted for 20%

00:43of all the coffee that we imported.

00:47And this is important not just for all the Americans

00:49who drink coffee, but for all the jobs in America,

00:53the taxes.

00:54So, this is really mutually beneficial.

00:57It helps both of us.

00:59Well, Espírito Santo

01:01is the major producer

01:02from the Conlon.

01:04That is the principal type of coffee.

01:08What potential do you see

01:10for the state to grow more

01:13of this product to the United States?

01:16I think the most interesting aspect of Conlon

01:20and Espírito Santo

01:21is the quality improvements

01:24over the last 10 years.

01:26I have had some Conlon

01:28that has just been excellent

01:29that has surprised me

01:32in terms of the research that's been done

01:34to improve the flavor, the quality of the cup.

01:38and I think as the world demand for coffee

01:41gets greater and greater,

01:43having higher quality level,

01:45Conlon will be crucial to the future

01:47both of Espírito Santo

01:49and for coffee drinkers everywhere.

01:51And what Espírito Santo can do to grow more

01:55in the market and to become more competitive

01:58in the United States?

01:59I think what Espírito Santo is already doing

02:02is very successful.

02:04You make an investment in research.

02:06You have incredible support

02:08from organizations like the Coffee Center,

02:11Victoria, like the Secretary of Agriculture.

02:15You're in Espírito Santo.

02:17So I would say just keep doing what you're doing.
