00:00And Dr. Eli, we're also seeing increasingly strong language coming from European governments, Egypt and Jordan.
00:06But we've heard this language before.
00:09What leverage does the international community actually have over Israel at this point?
00:15They do. I mean, I refuse to say that only the U.S. can pressure Israel and that Israel can
00:20do whatever it wants and that, you know, all that conspiracy theory.
00:23I don't agree. I think Israel is in dire need for international legitimacy.
00:30And has been seeking that for years and years in the past.
00:35A big part of this support has come from European countries in the past.
00:40And this is what we are seeing a significant change in since the Gaza events, but also before that.
00:48The people, the public opinion in Europe and now recently in the U.S. is shifting away from the support
00:55of Israel.
00:56And governments are becoming more and more accountable towards the people to stop the proper, let me say, legitimization of
01:05Israeli action.
01:06So what can European countries do?
01:08They can do a lot more than just talking.
01:10They can, first of all, strengthen the rules and regulations that forbid the trading with any products that are produced
01:21in the settlements,
01:22specifically to target the illegal settlements in the West Bank.
01:25But more than that, they can have a diplomatic pressure on Israel, escalating all the way to cutting diplomatic relations.
01:34At least if they don't want to cut international relations, they can stop economic exchange.
01:40And more importantly, they can stop supporting the military establishment of Israel.
01:45And they can stop sending weapons that are used eventually by the Israeli army and by illegal settlers to kill
01:52Palestinians
01:52and to move forward with this plan that is once again making a Palestinian state in the future almost impossible.
