00:00Chief of Defense Staff Commodore Don Polo has convened an ordinary court-martial for a corporal attached to the Defense
00:07Force Reserves.
00:08The proceedings, scheduled for Monday at the Defense Force headquarters in Chagaramas,
00:13stem from an incident nearly three years ago involving an allegation of unwanted sexual advances toward a female colleague.
00:21TV6 News understands that the matter went cold after evidence was initially taken and was only revived after the alleged
00:29victim threatened legal action against the Defense Force.
00:33Under Section 128 of the Defense Act, the TTDF has a three-year limitation period to try disciplinary matters by
00:41court-martial, meaning this case was brought just ahead of that deadline.
00:45Captain NZM King, the judge advocate, will preside over the proceedings.
00:50Squadron leader Kay Ramzing serves as the president of the court, with squadron leader S. Chase and Captain D. Sealy
00:57as members.
00:58Captain B. Francois and S. Sudin Singh will prosecute.
01:03The accused has not yet entered a plea.
