00:01And on the mound today, Jake Bennett, the left-hander who's had eight days in between starts.
00:08He'll take the hill for the first time since the 14th in Pittsburgh.
00:13So nine days between starts, eight days of rest.
00:17And Chad Tracy is hopeful that the fastball is a little bit livelier today.
00:22Awad has flied to right field.
00:25Wilier Abreu is underneath, and there is out number one.
00:28And he takes ball four.
00:30Bennett looked like he wanted very little to do with him there.
00:32And with one on, one out, here comes Willie Adamas.
00:36Two and two for Adamas.
00:38Devers takes a step back toward first, and this pitch is cranked to left field toward the green monster.
00:43And high off the wall.
00:45It will be a very long single for Adamas, who had to squeal the brakes around first.
00:51Eli White played it very well off the wall, and it's first and third, San Francisco.
00:55Now here is the 21-year-old Bryce Eldridge, who is one of those young talents the Giants are hanging
01:02their hats on.
01:03Line to right, two-strike single, and the Giants have the lead.
01:07Bryce Eldridge drives in Devers.
01:10You know, he's very young, but he has just a high baseball IQ and an elite approach.
01:16They're trying to keep it at only one against Victor Baricotto.
01:20Baricotto hits it hard.
01:21Into left field, that's a base hit.
01:22Here comes Adamas, here comes Eli White's throw to the plate.
01:26One hop, it's there, but not in time.
01:29Willie Adamas just got in ahead of the tag on a very good throw by left fielder Eli White.
01:35But the Giants get their second run, it's 2-0.
01:38That is high of the year, deep left field.
01:40White is back, he's at the warning track.
01:42He leaps and he makes the catch.
01:45White reels in, a huge out number two for Bennett.
01:480-2 into center field, and a dive there by Raffaella saves the day.
01:55A life raft from Sadon Raffaella.
01:58You get used to seeing around here, this kid is unbelievable out there.
02:02Beautiful kid.
02:02You may know him from the Little League World Series or the World Baseball Classic,
02:07and now Major League Baseball.
02:08Matt Tugboat-Wilkinson, his second Major League outing.
02:13Line drive, left field, base hit on a fastball.
02:16Jemai Jones rips it for a leadoff single.
02:19On the ground up the middle, that's a base hit on two strikes for Raffaella.
02:23He's been very good at that this year.
02:26Two on, nobody out for Boston.
02:28Strike three, Abreu goes down as Tugboat has a strikeout here in the first.
02:34And for Tugboat, that's his first big league strikeout,
02:37the guy who struck out the world in the minors.
02:40And right here, just a nice little slider.
02:43Three and two.
02:44That's in the air, right center field.
02:47Cox and Lee converge.
02:49Jonah Cox is there.
02:50Tugboat strands two.
02:52Top of the second inning, Jonah Cox.
02:54This ball is blasted high and deep for left field,
02:57and Jonah Cox gets it up and out of here.
03:01And he didn't know that.
03:02He's on his way home now.
03:04He's stopped at second base.
03:06It is a home run, number two for him.
03:09And the Giants lead three to nothing.
03:13Well, that's got to feel good for Jonah.
03:14His first home run came off a position player pitching in a blowout game.
03:19This time, first pitch he sees here at Fenway.
03:22Gets the hands.
03:23He's had a little trouble with the fastballs, had some injuries this year.
03:26The more you watch, Sogey, some of all parts kind of guy,
03:30and you can see that defensively, made a huge play last night in the eighth inning,
03:34diving play, big hit in the ninth.
03:36Outside ball, four called, a strike.
03:38Wow.
03:38Tap that.
03:39Let's go.
03:39That's out of the zone.
03:40Shouldn't he challenge that?
03:41Sogar didn't challenge, and so he deposits a ball out of here over the green monster.
03:49He could have had a walk.
03:50He'll take a trot instead.
03:53It's three to one.
03:54Tugboat Wilkinson facing Jemai Jones for the second time,
03:58and Jones snaps at a first pitch.
04:00Cox going back.
04:01He's into the triangle, and he watches that ball bang off the wall.
04:05Jones in a hurry for third.
04:07The throw is offline.
04:09It's a triple for Jemai Jones.
04:12Relentless, once again, Red Sox offense.
04:15Six and a half runs per game at home in 21 home games since the All-Star break.
04:22Base hit three to two.
04:25Rinse and repeat the exact same spot.
04:28He got the first one right here.
04:30Doesn't try to do too much.
04:31If good things happen when you put the ball in play, there he goes.
04:35Pitch gets away to the backstop, and it'll be a stolen base.
04:39He was off and moving, so Raffaella will have his 17th steal.
04:43Ball, three and two on a Braille, and he hits it in the air, high in the air for left
04:49field.
04:50Barracotto is back.
04:51He is on the warning track to make the catch.
04:54Durbin hits a cue shot to first, and Wilkinson gets out of the inning after three.
04:59The Red Sox are within one, but the Giants leave it to Nick Sogard,
05:03who homered over the monster and over everything.
05:06And he lines this to left field.
05:07This is well struck.
05:09That will hit the base of the wall and spin quickly to Barracotto,
05:13who's throw is not in time.
05:15It's a double, a hustle double for Sogard.
05:19Over the top of the mound to second base, Vasabe's throw is on target enough.
05:24Sogard moves to third.
05:26That's popped up.
05:28First base side, and it will be caught in fair territory by Eldridge.
05:34For out number two, Wilkinson trying to get out of it.
05:37Two down for Connor Wong, who rounded out 5-3 his first time up.
05:41Here's a fly ball, left-hand side.
05:43Pretty well struck.
05:44Barracotto is back.
05:45He's at the track.
05:46He's at the wall, and that is caught.
05:50He's trying to sell it, but they're going to challenge.
05:52The Red Sox are going to challenge this.
05:54There was a loud thud.
05:57The call was out.
05:59The question is, was it his body, his glove, or the ball that hit the green monster?
06:04Rule no catch.
06:06The battle runner will be placed at second.
06:08The runner at third will score.
06:10So that's the answer.
06:11It is a double.
06:13JT Brubaker out of the bullpen for the Giants to try to quiet this rally for Boston, who will
06:20pinch hit as well.
06:21Mickey Gasper, who's been up and back from AAA this year, will pinch hit.
06:25First pitch, down the line, fair ball.
06:28Boston will take the lead.
06:30A pinch hit, RBI double.
06:32A cast of thousands for the Red Sox have propelled this run, and here we go again.
06:39Into center field.
06:40That's a third two-strike hit for Raffaella.
06:44He is unstoppable late in counts.
06:47It's 5-3.
06:48Giants, Lou, are being very aggressive here.
06:51I mean, you look at the pitches by inning for Jake Bennett.
06:54After a long first inning, he's been extremely efficient.
06:5823 in the first, and basically a total of that since.
07:02And he'll come off the mound right there.
07:04Strike three.
07:06That's a nine-pitch inning.
07:08Inside, he walked in.
07:09Sogert's on base.
07:10It was a third time.
07:11It was a fly ball down the left field line.
07:13There's not a whole lot of foul territory over there in that corner, but Barracotto makes
07:18his way over, runs into the wall, ends up on the ground, and they're going to say interference
07:23here.
07:24The call is fan interference.
07:26Here's the play for Barracotto going into that left field corner.
07:30You guys all have played here.
07:32There's not a lot of space over there.
07:34Yeah, there's no space, and he's focused on catching this ball, and the foot gets caught
07:39on the bottom of the wall, probably turned an ankle or a knee right here.
07:42Definitely doesn't look great.
07:43He's walking gingerly off.
07:45Two gone, Giants sixth.
07:46High fly ball to right field, shading his eyes is Abreu, and now he stops, and he makes
07:52the catch.
07:53Eight in a row retired by Red Sox starter Jake Bennett, so he has settled down this Giants
07:58offense.
07:59Jake Bennett, he is the fourth major league pitcher this year with five straight innings
08:06of ten pitches and under.
08:09This to shortstop.
08:10Monasterio, tough play.
08:12He whistles it off of Contreras down the first baseline, two bases, maybe three.
08:19Here goes Koss into third, and that goes sailing over the head of everybody and out of play.
08:25The Little League World Series is going on, and it's a Little League home run for San Francisco.
08:30Their starter today played in Williamsport.
08:34They get their fourth run, hearkening back to Williamsport.
08:38And this is a bit of a spark.
08:40This is hustle all the way from Christian Koss.
08:42He's a guy who plays hard.
08:43This was an incredible attempt right here.
08:46Mysterio almost makes a complete robbery.
08:49Contreras missing the pick and the hustle to go to third, and there you have it.
08:54That didn't look as pretty as the rest of this game for the Red Sox.
08:57Tyron Guerrero, the flame-throwing right-hander, here in the eighth.
09:02Gets a first-pitch ground ball.
09:04Monasterio, it's short.
09:05His first throw since the inside the park.
09:08Little League home run, and a safe call over at first base.
09:12Buddy Kennedy hoofing it down the line.
09:15This to second base.
09:16Could be two.
09:17Monasterio's turn is there.
09:18Four, six, three.
09:21The Red Sox defense smoking this afternoon.
09:25Sogard, for a rare time in this series, is retired one away.
09:29That ball's drilled to left field.
09:31A monster tester high off the wall, and it dies slightly on the bounce off the wall.
09:36The throw!
09:37Not in time.
09:39It was a great bid from Gilbert off the wall,
09:42but it's a double for Monasterio with one out in the eighth.
09:47As the old one is right back to the mound,
09:49Harris to his free hand to get out number three.
09:53395 career saves.
09:55Aroldis Chapman looking for 396.
09:58On the ground, Chapman uses his height to his advantage.
10:04Skyscraping for out number one.
10:06Aroldis Chapman gets his swing and a miss.
10:09Strike three.
10:09And the Red Sox sweep the Giants' one-run ballgames the last two days.
