00:07Your long, long wait has ended.
00:09Go ahead and cry.
00:11After 53 years, the Knicks are finally NBA champions.
00:15So I got my Knicks Tattoo the day after the parade.
00:18The reason that I got it, just I've been a Knicks fan my whole life,
00:22and I just think that, you know, I wanted to have something
00:25that kind of, you know, tied me to this particular team this year.
00:28I made the decision to get this tattoo a while ago,
00:30and I think the energy was just right, and it was the time.
00:34And I reached out to Mikel, and he had a, you know,
00:37he had an appointment a few weeks later, and that was it.
00:40Yeah, I mean, I've been a Knicks fan my whole life.
00:43The earliest memory I have of the Knicks is the early 90s Knicks
00:48play against the Jordan teams and have to endure that.
00:52But that's my earliest memory,
00:54watching the Knicks as a kid with my mom.
00:56My Knicks memories are from when I was, you know, a small child, really.
01:01I played ball since I was, like, five years old.
01:04The 90s, forget about it.
01:05I was in high school in the 90s.
01:07Being a Knicks fan was unreal.
01:11I think being a Knicks fan has been tough, even when they were good.
01:15And this goes back to the great players that we had
01:18who deserved those wins, like Anthony Mason and Charles Oakley
01:20and Patrick Ewing, those John Starks,
01:22obviously Derek Harper, Chris Child, Charlie Ward,
01:25all these guys that lay their hearts out.
01:27You know, we're great Knicks players.
01:28You know, I think that this team embodied all of those good and bad years.
01:33You know, as a New York Knicks fan,
01:35especially over the last five decades, you know,
01:38there's been, whether they can or can't do it,
01:40I think you're always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
01:42You know, you're always waiting for something bad to happen.
01:44As a Knicks fan, you don't think that we deserve this.
01:48And the feeling of, you know, Mike Bream,
01:51you know, his, you know, at the end,
01:52this isn't a dream.
01:53This is not a dream!
01:55You know, to finally see, to be a world champion as an NBA fan,
01:59it's an indescribable feeling,
02:01and we're going to support the team even harder.
02:03Never in my life did I think I'd be able to be there,
02:06and I was.
02:07From walking in that building to being down at halftime,
02:11at no point was I like, this is not happening.
02:14Like, the entire time.
02:16And that's just being, I think, a Knicks fan in general.
02:18Like, that's how they played this entire season, you know,
02:22kept you on your toes the entire time.
02:23Let's go, Knicks! Let's go, Knicks!
02:26New York is not typically known as a place
02:28where you're just high-fiving and handshaking everyone.
02:32And I had so many strangers in my life
02:33the first two minutes after they won, I think.
02:35The camaraderie, hugging and dapping up strangers
02:38throughout the two months of them winning,
02:40you know, is not a normal thing,
02:43and this now has become a normal thing,
02:45you know, amongst Knicks fans,
02:46and I think just bringing the city of New York together for sure.
02:48Being a Knicks fan to me is being a New York fan.
02:51It's the love of basketball.
02:53It's the love of sports in general.
02:56There are literally no words.
02:57Like, nothing I've ever been a part of before in my life.
02:59This team is special.
03:00It really is.
03:01I don't know.
03:01To me, understanding that camaraderie
03:04and understanding all that is, like, wildly special.
03:06Game four was insane.
03:10You know, they're down to four points,
03:13you know, two points,
03:14and it's back and forth at that point.
03:16We love Josh Hart, but he misses, you know,
03:18misses an easy layup,
03:19and then they're still fighting back.
03:21And then, you know, JB, you know,
03:23Brunton goes and takes a shot that, you know,
03:26that was a gutsy shot.
03:28And then OG, who's had an incredible playoff run,
03:32just does what he's done all year,
03:33just fighting for a tough, you know,
03:36offensive rebound and just getting it to go in
03:38was probably one of the best, you know,
03:40if not the best sports moment I've ever had in my life.
03:42Like, there really is no other way to explain the moment
03:46when that tip-in happened, you know?
03:48Like, the entire garden, it just erupted.
03:51It's gone! It's gone!
03:53With 1.2 remaining!
03:55It was one of the most exciting moments I've been a part of.
03:57Period.
03:58And it's 107-106!
04:02After 53 years and the Knicks finally win the championship,
04:05it was, you know,
04:07the happiest moment I've had in sports in my life.
04:11The Knicks were able to bring, you know,
04:13an entire city together.
04:18I think putting the Knicks on my body for the rest of my life
04:20is not, it wasn't, it's not a thing.
04:22Like, they've been a part of my life,
04:24my entire life,
04:25and they will be a part of my life, my whole life, you know?
04:27I'm a fan, and they're, like, ingrained in me.
04:31It wasn't a question.
04:32It just was like, all right, let's go.
04:35If I'm going to, you know,
04:36put something on my body for the rest of my life,
04:38I wanted to do with someone that I really trust,
04:40and, you know, let him do what he does best,
04:43and he came up with an incredible design
04:45and something that really just embodies what I feel,
04:48you know, the Knicks are, you know,
04:50the Garden, the Blue and Orange,
04:52and now we get to do the championship banner,
04:55and, you know, just really brought it all together
04:58and brought this season, you know, in this one tattoo.
