00:17The meeting brought together Venezuelan and Barbadian officials to review bilateral initiatives
00:21with a special focus on support for communities, cooperation in the field of health and proposals
00:27aimed at strengthening ties between the two Caribbean nations.
00:33Among the issues discussed were joint agricultural production, potential energy projects, increased
00:39air connectivity and the strengthening of maritime trade and tourism.
00:43At the Miraflores Palace, both governments signed and qualified a joint declaration aimed at continuing
00:48the bilateral cooperation established during Dolce Rodriguez's official visit to Barbados
00:53in April.
00:53We believe the time has come, as we said in our previous meeting, to deepen that cooperation
00:59now in very tangible ways from the areas of agriculture and food security, fisheries, tourism,
01:09international transport, be it air or maritime transport, and of course, education and health.
01:19The Conviasa flights between Venezuela and Barbados will make it easier for this not to simply
01:24be a matter about governments cooperating, but people-to-people cooperation as well.
01:30This is what mature diplomacy looks like.
01:33We will not always agree on everything, but with those areas in which we can agree,
01:38we must make progress always for our people.
01:47Today's activities underscored the continued strengthening of Venezuela-Barbados relations,
01:52with both governments seeking to give continuity to bilateral cooperation and advanced initiatives
01:57designed to deliver benefits to their peoples.
02:00So today we've signed agreements to start working in agriculture, in culture, in education, in tourism,
02:10also in air and maritime travel, and today we also signed a joint declaration for the work to come.
02:20So in all these projects, in tourism, education, language exchange, we have so many fields where
02:28the relationship between our peoples can be strengthened.
02:31From Caracas and Guarenas, the official visit highlighted cooperation ranging from community
02:35production to healthcare, reinforcing the growing ties between the two Caribbean nations.
