I initially bounced off Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, but its incredible character-building depth brought me back. See how I created a dual-wielding space seaman and took on a Chaos Space Marine in this deep CRPG.

00:00Here's gaming's latest redemption arc. Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader has me so obsessed with its
00:04character building that I restarted after 20 hours to play its whole first act again,
00:08just because I didn't like my first guy enough. I wasn't warmed to the game in 2023,
00:12to any weird proper nouns and fiddly stat tweaks that I could not be bothered with after the
00:16simple elegance of Baldur's Gate 3, and it also really bugged me that it still bugs me that it
00:21calls hit points wounds. That's just weird. But playing it again in 2026 with the release of its
00:26Infinite Museon DLC, I can safely say I'm hooked. I just had the time of my life taking down Rogue
00:32Trader's Act 1 boss, a beefy chaos space marine. After softening him up with my companions,
00:37I finished him off with a heroic cavalry charge, the one-two punch of my sword and gun sending him
00:42packing before he could destroy a single one of my shuttles. I've hardly even gotten to the real game
00:46yet, and my sword and gun navy officer is only one of dozens of cool builds you can rock in
00:50Rogue
00:50Trader. Alcat lost me for a second there, but I'm back, and my next 140 hours or so of free
00:55time are
00:55now spoken for. To stay up to date on all of our Dark Future Gunsword Seaman shenanigans,
